Whoa! Very well presented and thanks for the video! I am here to gain more appreciation of my surgeon father did as he was a graduate of the University of Louisville Medical School in 1920 and this is not a typo. My father was a country doctor in south Missouri in the 40's and early 50's and we kids got to see his closing wounds with sutures and it was as if he had been conduction a symphony as his hands moved so gracefully. Thanks so much for your video and the very best of luck!
1. Never ever hold the microsurgical suture with forceps, even with the flat one, before forming the whole anastomosis. You will damage thin prolene suture. 2. First stage of instrumental tying should include two knots, not only one.
I know a lot of anatomy because I went to 18 months medical classes for massage therapy. you would be surprised to find out how much anatomy massage therapists learn. Had a dream about having to repair a cut artery in an emergency situation so thought I would watch some surgical videos. I have nightmare disorder. Usually being chased and not in a good way. I do needle crafts. I crochet very well. Basic knitting, basic sewing, basic embroidery. I also make jewelry and some micro macrame. I would be a great surgeon I think. Adding surgeon kit to the Apocalypse preparedness shopping list. Got the O - universal blood already.
Finally! I found a videos about microsurgery technics! Thanks you so much, Doc❤
The fluidity of your hands while tying that knot... just beautiful ❤❤❤
Very very useful.
For me, as a dentist, a second technique ( pulling on short end) to counter tension of wound edges is invaluable.
Thank you.
