- Man, a lot can happen in a month. Asher and Dylan converse about all the crazy things that happened the during our holiday break, including Shoma Uno beating Yuzuru at Nationals, the twitter war evoked by Alina Zagitova, some less than fortunate updates from France and stories from Dylan's escapades as an international coach.

Yes, Russian skating is a soap opera for sure. But you missed the bit where a Russian sports reporter contacted the Kremlin to get Putin's official take on Plush vs Eteri. I mean seriously, the material just writes itself 🤣
I'm very interested in seeing what happens with the Shoma/Stephane combo. I feel like there's a lot of potential there for good things to happen. And Yuzu was very sweet after JNats, saying in an interview that Shoma won fair and square and that he was glad for Shoma's success. Doesn't mean Yuzu isn't planning to wipe the floor with everyone else at 4CC and World's, but still. The guy's a class act.
As for France, their woes continue...poor Kevin Aymoz at Europeans! It's just not France's year.
How about that young Grassl chap though? 4Lz, 4F, 4Lo right off the bat in his free skate at Euros! 😮

Finally... a skating events comment chit chat show that is truly insightful AND FUNNY and isn't 10 thousand hours long! Plus, Dylan is soooo fun to listen and both guys' chemistry is pure gold.
You MISSED the one step where Yagudin liked Eteri Tutberidze's attack of Tarasova.. oopsie doosie. And Plushenko was the one to defend Tarasova first. Then TAT told everyone to go to hell and Yags deleted his like and comment on ET's post. And ET also posted a poem. Ooooo... ooooooo... this is some Ceylon quality tea...
Gosh if only Shonda Rhimes watched FS and decided to produce a show about it.

If Russia is banned from sport for 4 years how do their athletes compete? Like if they’re clean then athletes should be able to compete under a neutral flag but why does it appear that this is not being implemented?
They are competing under the name of "olympic athletes from Russia". Their flag didnt shown next to athletes name in Pyeongchang and didnt hang around stadium. I think even if they wanted to punish Russia it would be too cruel to ban individual atheletes from their olympic dream so they just didnt use the name Russia.

I like y’all and I think your show is good and funny (a slight ripoff of The Skating Lesson , but hey you’re allowed, its not a competition). With that said I think your joke about the world burning was in poor taste and not “a funny comparison”. Maybe stay away from that type of humor in the future. Nope, not a troll. I actually complimented them 3 times. And also, with the fires in the Amazon and recently in Australia where so much land has been destroyed and people have DIED, is not a “funny comparison” to all this Russian drama as Dylan put it. I have seen every episode of this show and have hit like on all the videos, including this one btw. The two of them have a good dynamic in the show is well produced and edited. What I did is not troll-ish it’s called constructive criticism. Have a nice day

PS I am guessing what you misinterpret as “ backpedaling”, again I don’t think you know what that word means, was me adding a couple of extra compliments at the end of my reply to you to prove my point and remind you that I complemented them in my original comment that you take issue with! Also, I genuinely think those things.
It’s sad that the ISU is so obviously pushing for Nathan Chen to be the face of figure skating as Yuzu is going to be heading for retirement in the coming years. He won’t be as effective though because it’s Japan that brings in the revenue and Yuzu has that protagonist charm that only he has. Nathan Chen doesn’t need the inflation. He has the talent. Just judge them fairly.
What a ridiculous theory some of you spin to give Yuzuru excuses for his failures to reach the top of the podium. Nathan is planning to step away from figure skating after Beijing so there is obviously some huge flaw in your sorry-@ss theory about the ISU pushing him to be the face of figure skating after Yuzuru retires. And, yes, we all know Nathan won't be as effective in bringing revenue for the ISU because figure skating isn't even a popular sport here in the US. Again, another hole in your dumb theory. It makes ZERO sense that the ISU would even be trying to push Nathan. For what purpose again now? There's no inflation. He destroys Yuzuru with his technical wizardry, consistency, and ability to perform clean programs. That has nothing to do with inflation, and everything to do with talent.

7:29 If there was "a little bit of inflation", it was not fairly judged. Those two statements do _not_ go together, I'm sorry. And don't belittle the people that care when the judging has been unfair. That underhand comparison to human trafficking is just not it. We support and respect these athletes. It isn't out of order to want fair judging.
Nathan might've won without the "inflation". If I were him I would be offended because it would mean more to me to know I won, fair and square, even if it was by just a handful of points rather than a huge margin and have it be disputed often and loudly. The "inflation" casts a shadow on his win because for the casual observer, the IJS is obscure, arbitrary and very subjective. To have large group of people contest whether he deserves to win does him no favors and disheartens people who watch the sport. It makes me go "Oh look, Yuna Kim all over again."
The ISU may be propping up Nathan to be the next Yuzuru Hanyu but he won't be. He can't be. He is own person who will make his own contributions to the sport. And it isn't fair to him or Hanyu.

The example given in this video is spot on though, same mistake but they were judged differently. Aliev was given a fall penalty whereas Nathan only got deduction. Lol

Kelly O'Connor but hes not close with nathan, yuzu used to train with javi thats why they’re as good as they are today. and now shoma becomes his national rival, and tbh i don’t see nathan beating yuzu at the worlds
