      @Phished123 3 месяца назад +8

      yeah not only was it more dense but the smooth shape of the formed ice like an ice cube would also make it more aerodynamic, which would generate more heat, but make it harder for the wind resistance to break the ice up. Im sure its possible for this to happen in real life, but i bet its highly unlikely.

    • @hanzosbm1
      @hanzosbm1 3 месяца назад +4

      @@jackfranks7160 Yes, but in the wind tunnel, they had to increase temperature to get it fall off, simulating lower altitudes (not sure if they changed airspeed at all). I wish they would've stayed a little more consistent on this one (what temp did the ice fall off? What approximate altitude does that correspond to? What is the density of the ice formed in this way? How would it have reacted?)
      My gut feeling is that it's still plausible, but I would've liked to have seen it done more accurately.

    There is a slight issue I have with a testing methodology for the explosion myth. I have personally witnessed a house explode from a leaking gas pipe. The gas pipe was leaking for around 25-30 minutes. And all it took was one spark in the whole house was reduced to rubble and it was made of cinder block and brick. Pieces of it hit my mom's place. I heard it from my apartment. It shook the ground

      @derpmanaveragegamer7791 3 месяца назад +1

      that wasnt the myth though? they know it will explode/burn *eventually* since it does happen IRL alot. the myth was that you could have it happen as quickly and in the same fashion as in the movie, which you cant.
      you get the explosion from the spontaneous ignition of all the natural gas at the same time, where as the movies slow leak doesnt give enough time for the gas to reach a proper mixture ratio and causes it to act as a fire accelerant instead of a explosive ignition.

    • @psychotimo
      @psychotimo 24 дня назад

      exactly this. These tests, at best, prove that it's (possibly) plausible. no more, no less
      The ice in the wind tunnel test was opaque, meaning there was a lot of air trapped inside of it, making it less structurally stable. And the crevices and spaces you mentioned would be a good spot for the wind to "grab onto" and pull it apart into smaller pieces.
      The ice they made for the drop test was smooth and clear, meaning fully crystallized ice with limited air trapped inside (higher structural integrity) and smooth walls where wind can't as easily grab onto it.
      Hell, the wind tunnel ice would even drop slower due to higher wind resistance, causing it to have more time to disintegrate.

    What's funny about the Bourne result, specifically the more continuous open flame, is that it implies a version of the scene where instead of the apartment exploding before the bad guys even get inside, it's after a couple minutes of them investigating the apartment when it suddenly bursts into flames with them INSIDE.

      There is a trend of YT posted television shows having extremely poor audio quality. My theory is that the creator of the videos is not mixing down a surround signal to 2 channel stereo. Often, the announcers voice (which I theorize should be in the center channel) gets lost in the mixdown and is often very quiet or non-existent. I'm just spitballing here.

      Yeah, bet they were like "you know, it would be interesting to find out how a faulty liquid tank on an aircraft would behave". Heck that data would also be good to forward to the engineers making planes. Good to know that if all safeties fail and it's also a slow leak, that's what can cause an issue.

    the blue ice myth is another one of there top shelf myths that had everyone watching with intense interest . the moment the ice broke free the look on Tory Belleci an the late great Grant Imahara was just so funny an later when Kari Byron goes skydiving you can tell she loved the whole trip down . adam an jamie testing the magazine burn in the toasters was fun . adam wait for the poof yes there it is an jamie chuckling as it happens was just fun you could tell they were having a bunch of fun doing things they told US not to do at home . glad to see this one hope you put more full episodes an yes mythbusters need a star on the walk of fame .

    The Toaster time are way off. I believe outlet voltage in Berlin is is 230v not 120v it is in the USA the magazines would catch fire much faster.

    • @jimhjortsberg2990
      @jimhjortsberg2990 3 месяца назад +6

      Doesn't really matter for toasters. They aren't using the full potential of the 230v network as that would just turn your bread into charcoal. And the difference in time it takes for the element to heat up is miniscule as it so small.

Everyone got together to drop bags of flower at a target and whoever hit the target or the closest to it won. Fun times. He moved after his mom died. Never could find him again.
