Aww, what a beautiful time, a beautiful family and a beautiful tree! When I was a young mother I dreamed of having a magazine perfect tree 🎄 with beautiful matching ornaments, ribbons and floral stems throughout. Instead it was all different ornaments. We collected a new ornament each year to represent each child's interest/sport/hobby that year and I added the date on them. When they became adults and moved into their own homes I surprised them with a memory box of 19 ornaments for their first Christmas to get them started. They remembered each one and we talked and laughed about memories attached with them. Now I have that beautifully decorated tree, but it will never compare to what I had when my kids were young. Enjoy every single moment! 😪🎄🎅

It seemed to be something they do every year- how cool is that? Minimal investment, maximum joy, lasting memories.

Ashley, Just a word of caution...Be careful when putting fake snow batting over twinkle lights. Ours caught on fire. Thank God we were home, Hubby came down the hallway and smelled smoke. We put it out ourselves without having to call fire dept., but we never put batting over lights again. 🎅🏔🌲
