  • Ukraine has ordered the evacuation of the city Pokrovsk, as Russian forces approach the region.
    In a post on Telegram, the head of the city's military administration says it's important residents "don't delay" their evacuation, as Russian troops are "rapidly approaching the outskirts of Pokrovsk".
    The city was the focus of the highest intensity of fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces on Thursday, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
    In a post on X, President Volodymyr Zelensky said the city was a key focus for defence forces and was one of a number of areas "facing the most intense Russian assaults".

      I mean, Ukraine took more land from Russia in a week than Russia took from Ukraine in months. Russian fighter jets are scrambling from the dontesk region over to Kursk to try to unfuck this situation giving huge relief to Ukrainian troops all along the frontline over there who been getting hammed by their Air Force . This counter offensive buys Ukraine time, and kicks this war out of the destructive nonsensical trench warfare that’s been going on for over 2 years.

    Ukraine’s push into Kursk somehow made people forget that Russia has been incrementally gaining ground in Donetsk. The city of Kursk itself isn’t in any danger as Ukraine would need more troops to take a city that size. The assumed plan to force Russia to move frontline units away from Donetsk and redeploy those units to Kursk doesn’t seem to be happening.
    The arrival of F-16s has been the gamechanger the world was told it would be. I haven’t seen any reports of F-16s doing anything more than air defense. No actual frontline activities.
    Meanwhile, Russia is depending on I’ll-trained conscripts and, technically, national police forces to try to slow down Ukrainian advances in Kursk. At this point, Russia should allow the Ukrainians to push deeper into Russia. Force them to extend their supply lines. Move even more troops into Russia so as to thin out overall manpower reserves of Ukraine.

Both of them have illegally invaded sovereign nations in just the 21st century. Which is very surprising because both the US and Russia are permanent UN security members who's job is to mediate conflicts so war doesn't take place. You would think with that responsibility they would be the last to be involved in war, but Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Georgia, Ukraine, Libya, these are just some of the wars and conflicts the US and Russia have been involved in, in just 24 years of the 21st century.

      After Adolf Hitler came into power in 1933 and enacted policies that would culminate in the Holocaust, Jews began to escape German-occupied Europe and the United Kingdom was one of the destinations. Some came on transit visas, which meant that they stayed in Britain temporarily, while waiting to be accepted by another country. Others entered the country by having obtained employment or a guarantor, or via Kindertransport. There were about 70,000 Jewish refugees who were accepted into Britain by the start of World War II on 1 September 1939, and an additional 10,000 people who made it to Britain during the war.

    • @RichardKent-k8c
      @RichardKent-k8c 26 дней назад

      Hitler came into power in Germany in 1933,[1] when there were about 523,000 German Jews, or less than 1% of the country's population.[2] Subject to threats and persecution, Jews began to emigrate from that point until the start of World War II in 1939. During this time, more than 117,000 Jews left Austria and more than 300,000 left Germany. Most of these Jews, many young, were trained in a field or college educated. [1][2][a] Key decision-making factors about whether Jews would emigrate were whether they owned businesses, which were subject to Nazi-sponsored boycotts; if they were among the civil servants who had lost their jobs; and the degree to which they were politically active.[2]
      Initially, Germany encouraged Jews to leave, then they restricted the amount of money they could take from German banks and imposed high emigration taxes. The German government forbade emigration after October 1941. The German Jews who remained, about 163,000 in Germany and less than 57,000 from annexed Austria, were mostly elderly, and were murdered in ghettos or taken to Nazi concentration camps, where most of them also died.[2] Although Jews could easily leave Germany initially, it was difficult to find countries in which they could live, particularly after accepting the initial wave of immigrants in Europe, Britain, and the United States.[2]
