Great thanks💐💐💐
My pleasure! I’m glad it is helpful!
❤❤❤❤❤ I always scan all of my collage art that I love. I can make neat postcards and greeting cards with my photos.
That's so smart, Cowgirl Jane! You may be interested in a fun product I just found, called Sticky Stuff from Joggles www.joggles.com/art-journals-and-mixed-media/joggles-sticky-stuff-adhesive-tape/joggles-sticky-stuff-adhesive-tape-sheets-6-inch-x-12-inch-57365.htm. (No commission or connection), it looks like an amazing way to easily adhere your collage with whatever surface is calling. I've just ordered some to play with, It's a bit pricey, but I have to try it!
That’s a great idea!
I usually end up watching you over and over so lovely to watch you thank you xx
Your comments bring me smiles! Thank you so much!
Wonderful! I love how you let each piece speak to you as you work. Much appreciated
Thanks so much Wendy, I get the best results when I "listen"...

I will!!!!! All I paint is only on Instagram, for the moment
@@pasqualebazin7964 I'll look for you and follow you!
Do you have a video showing what you do with the back of your panels, to make them sellable?
Jill, what a great question! I have not discovered a way to mount canvas panels so when I want to sell them, I find an 8" X 8" frame and pop them in, then you can leave the back exposed, or use the classic brown paper to finish them off.
"Meet chaos with a sense of calm." Oh my, I love your videos! Thank you for creating such inspiring instructions/techniques. ***Beams a big smile your way*** Curious to understand why you are using a soft silicone spatula to apply the Matte Medium? Easier to remove bubbles and have it lay flat?
Paulalina, thank you! Yes, the spatula is the most efficient thing I have found to apply the Matte Medium, smooth the paper flat and the bonus is there is no need to wash out a brush. At some point, just peel off the dried Matte Medium. Thanks so much for watching and commenting...happy creating!
@@VikkiReed Vikki I was looking for which rice paper and realized SD I was researching I've no idea of the complexities of these beautiful papers. Could recommend some name brands that you use? I'm inspired!
@@paulareeveslmt The paper I am using is JapanBargain, Calligraphy Rice Paper from Amazon. I have only tried one other rice paper, which was a printable rice paper and I didn't care for it. The one I am using from Amazon has a smooth side and a rougher side. The smooth side is just fantastic for picking up gelli prints (smooth side toward the paint) and I love how thin the rice paper is for collaging. There is some learning curve to getting the right amount of paint on the plate, too little/dry the paper will tear, as well as too much paint. I do have a video coming soon on printing on rice paper, and there is a great one about using eucalyptus leaves and repurposed items, you can watch that here...ruclips.net/video/DG7nEzwsO3E/видео.html
@@VikkiReed Vikki, I am so excited! Have ordered the basic supplies to begin creating and feel very inspired. Looking around for whatever might make interesting impressions. For sure doing up a paper towel roll with string, so cool! You're wonderful at encouraging others to try this technique!
@@paulareeveslmt that’s wonderful! I’m so happy you feel inspired! I look at everything now with an eye to whether it might make a fun impression on the gelli plate! Happy creating!
If you really like a paper keep it as a master and make copies on your color printer
Thank you, yes, you're absolutely correct! That is what I did with this base and created three projects (on the copies, printed on heavy stock) The Peace Project, ruclips.net/video/p9PbFTOjhTA/видео.htmlsi=mgoMu8RvrJIh68KV A Mixed Media Bird Project ruclips.net/video/2X-Dgrld29E/видео.htmlsi=hRhBMy82_uFzjW5M and a Mixed Media Flower Collage with Gelli Prints and Acrylics ruclips.net/video/Q5wbld-blwI/видео.htmlsi=RxIHl8JDvVQPDZpo
Thanks for showing us how to "get going". Question: Where do I find your "Gelli Plate Printing on Rice Paper" video? Is it the Dragonfly Art to Wood Panel?
Lisa, "Gelli Plate Printing on Rice Paper" is still in production, but "Gelli Plate Techniques Using Leaves and Repurposed Items" ruclips.net/video/DG7nEzwsO3E/видео.html is all on rice paper and will get you going! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I really like your videos but I wish that you would zoom your camera on to the artwork you’re working on rather than your torso. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the feedback, I can certainly see how the artwork would be more interesting than my torso! I do have a new camera set up now so hopefully you will be seeing more of the art and art process and less of me!
Hi. I do collage on hardback book covers...how can I incorporate gelli printing on the inside of my hardback book covers ?????
Thank you for your question! I’m not sure I’m totally clear, are you wanting to print the gelli Plate directly inside the book? Or are you okay with collaging Gelli Prints on the interior as well? If it is the latter, you are all set, just gelli print to your heart’s content and collage inside. If you want to Gelli print inside your book, you can get what you want on the plate, have a silicone sheet under the plate, then when you’re ready, flip that over and press inside your book. Let me know if that is unclear or not what you were asking!
I'm referring to printing on a hardback bookcover....removing a hard cover from front and back of a vintage book and gelli printing on the inside of those .....not a book page
@@trialsbikeguyah, okay, well certainly you could use a silicone plate under your Gelli Plate, and when you have what you want on the Gelli Plate, pick it up and press it face down inside the book, that should work!
My big problem is fear. Letting go and taking a chance is pretty scary. Any tips?
Sue, I hear you! Yes...paint for the fun of it, without needing it to turn out...experiment...the pressure we put on ourselves to "be good" or "not to waste" are creativity killers. Whenever I come into the studio "needing a win", things don't turn out well! If you are willing to play and enjoy yourself, I believe you will be surprised by the magic that can result. Put on some music that gets you going and paint to that! The beauty of acrylic is that if you don't like what is there, you can sand it down, gesso over it and start again! I hope that helps, I've been there!
Sue, one more thing I want to add; there is a book called "Art and Fear" by David Bayles and Ted Orland...my favorite quote is, "the thing that separates artists from ex-artists is that those who keep challenging their fear continue, while those that don't quit"
@@VikkiReed Thanks for this…I have downloaded the book on Audible!
@@suebarner8364 Wonderful! I think it helps so much to know that all artists deal with this
Is rice paper archival? (Acid free)
Christine, while some rice papers are acid free, I do not know about this one. I spent many years as a watercolorist being scrupulous about acid free papers and mats, but as a mixed media artist, I pay much less attention now, once learning that collage is done with ephemera, book pages, even newspaper which as we know is full of acid. It seems that sealing it with Matte Medium is a mitigating factor, but even so, I began to worry less about my paintings lasting 500 years...here is an interesting blog post that speaks to that subject rozwoundup.com/2011/05/the-visual-journal-artists-guide-tosealing-encasing-archival-materials-and-the-500-year-life-span.html Thank you for your question!
Sorry, I'm not on facebook. Thanks for your long message....
No problem!
