    • @clairruckman7674
      @clairruckman7674 2 года назад +2

      Frankly, it is their principals that imo allow the communities to allow them to operate as they do. When those not upheld and their activities come into a neighborhood too deeply like selling drugs to kids that is when communities turn. Just an observation and I know nothing, but it is why imo you don't have the weekend death toll like you do in other areas with criminal enterprises. I.E. Chicago just ran by run of the mill gangs. The Meyer Lansky ideology of this is a business, yes, we do bad things at times, but we deal with bad people, so it has to be a bit more rough. I've stated this with regards to politics. I personally don't care if politicians place someone off nepotism, or get a kick back on X deal. Toledo, Ohio city council only difference between the GOP and DNC was the GOP guy wanted a better amount. Frankly, I'm more embarrassed for them taking the bribes. My household middle class, and not rich by any means, and I could have come up with the cash to bribe them. It was a few thousand dollars. That case is what scared me with our government. A really? That is all it costs to buy you? Again though I don't care what they do as long as they actions don't hurt my immediate household. It is same as how I look at criminal activity. They are filling a niche market. If we didn't want them making a buck on XYZ remove the profit from it like legalization, and at least get the communities cut from it in taxes:/ People will always gamble, do drugs, boink, etc... Yes, in an ideal world legislating against those things would work, but well in my opinion never going to happen may as well make a profit off it and reinvest it in infrastructure. No, whether Government, or criminal groups if you become too loud with it, and hurt my kids well you need a revisit to remind the government, etc.... they exist as long as people allow it.

      @@clairruckman7674 that’s a fair point. The drug thing just makes business sense. You can’t keep getting money from someone if what you’re providing them, kiIIs them.

    • @clairruckman7674
      @clairruckman7674 2 года назад

      @@Wulfram Yup, pragmatism. Same idea of sending an accountant to someone's home instead of beating them up. I heard that was Lansky's approach. Just random thing I read at one point. Pragmatism. If dead, or unable to work that doesn't serve anything I'd want. Only difference between what is legal, not legal is bureaucracy. I learned early I get caught doing everything. Over speed limit 5 miles I'm the one getting pulled over, so past my teens always follow the rules. Not, because of some great moral compass, but pragmatism. In my case cost of traffic tickers I did the math of I worked X # of hours for that money. I don't want my time wasted. Frankly, I'm surprised more, whether legal, or not operate on that basis. The pharmaceutical industry with this recent Covid shot. They got greedy and stupid. Yes, they profited great off of it, but the side affects clearly the risk/ reward not in the favor of taking it for pretty much everyone. Instead of being logical for long term profits and to keep the illusion of trust they chose not to opt for that instead buying off people for silence:/ It isn't the lie that gets you caught from my experience it is trying to cover up lies. They have people now even questioning whether they should be taking their lipitor, because of their over the top greed. Pragmatic they would have should given the list of side affects that from pharma commercials everyone just blocks out, and they would have had everyone taking it. It is my opinion everything in life is sales, and I want long term customers. Even my husband I want him home loving me as the happy purchase of choosing me he chose a decade ago. Pragmatism.

    Have you done that sit down with your brother? Even if you don't put it on RUclips I hope you do. Me and my sister had a bad relationship and I hadn't seen or talked to her in about 20 years. I really wanted to see her again and confront her about some things she did to me. A few years ago she called me out of the blue. And it really shocked me and I just hung up on her. And she passed away about a year and when i heard that most all of the hatred I had for her vanished in aheartbeat. And I really regretted hanging up on her I wanted to see her again but I always thought I had plenty of time. She was only 51. And the most chilling thing about her calling me was when I answered and she asked to speak to me (my name) and I replied that's me and who is this? And she didn't say her name, she said "this is your sister". And me hanging up on her and not giving her a chance to speak will go down as one of the biggest mistakes of my life. You've got almost a million subscribers and you've given us a lot of great advice. Now let me give you some. Honestly, I can see it being very difficult to sort through the misinformation there is on the Mafia. People like to embellish details, tell stories, lie, or are just sometimes plain wrong, and writers are the worst of them. Sometimes you get writers like Mario Puzo who just kind of throw out the real world in favour of telling a great story or even Nicholas Pileggi, who wrote non-fiction, but had to adapt the facts to drama when he co-wrote the movie GoodFellas. And then you get people like Frank Sheeran who I guess just made stuff up for his own amusement.

    • @clairruckman7674
      @clairruckman7674 2 года назад

      Frankly, I don't mind the embellishment it is one of the reasons many of us find that world fascinating. Allow the members to embellish some to allow the stories to insulate them some. Anyone with logic realizes a large amount of it is big fish stories. The scariest parts probably worse then what is told to use. It sort of reminds me of when I was young and just realizing as a young lady that by being a woman I could control guys. I never used it for evil, but definitely a testing of boundaries wanting someone to tell me, no, or give me even the remotest push back. Not just men, but a fun what can I get these people to do/ believe. Once after I took an insult from a friend at a party I convinced the whole party to play in the street with a lighter and a can of bug spray. They didn't believe it makes a mini flame thrower. To ensure no one got hurt I demanded they do it in the street and no point it at anyone. I didn't want anyone hurt. Just wanted to prove her and her friends the idiots. So given my youthful tell a story light manipulation if I were in that life it'd be hard not to just embellish silly stuff that is so absurd to see if you could get clueless people to believe it.

      Well, yeah. But why put it under that headline anyway? Did you ever hear once being said about cosa nostra: "We don't deal with anybody except ourselves!" Like, really? We're talking about business-oriented criminal underworld in AMERICA, where numerous different nations share the same square foot of soil. Like they would even care, as long as it's profitable and relatively safe from getting caught.
      It would've been a different thing if he touched on the mafia in Italy, where they can 100% afford to not deal with any other gang/criminal group inside their country. In fact, most of these myths he wrote sound like he was actually talking about misperception of mafia in Italy.

    Thanks Michael, hope you don't get too worked up over these type of things. Your videos are really the best info out there and people like George Anastia are trying to profit off of 2nd or 3rd hand info. I've seen some of his videos and they are speculative at best. Keep up the great work!

    Thanks for creating one of the most interesting channels. Real talk, with no disrespect. The truth, and its helpful to all walks of life. I love this channel. Thanks for sharing your advice. I am learning how to establish a business. It takes respect, and you make it seem so easy. But, you have to keep close to our “Saviour!”. Thanks for making that clear. And the respect is amazing. Folks could learn a lot with those factors. Respect, and love for God! Stay away from mind altering things that will bring havoc! Wheew. Thanks for creating this channel. Love it.

    When it comes to the Mafia and La Cosa Nostra I would believe and trust Michael because he was apart of the life and I understand that sometimes he's asked questions about the life that he can't answer or doesn't know all the details but Michael does and has told us the details that he does know about those questions, plus Michael does tells us about what he saw or the experiences he had in the life. God bless you Michael stay safe and healthy

    It’s interesting how people want to consistently say that La Cosa Nostra dealt in drugs. What people seem to fail at realizing is that at the time it was forbidden, that doesn’t mean and isn’t you saying that nobody did. It was just a rule. Rules are broken consistently. I don’t understand how it’s so difficult for people to make that distinction
