Season 3 he was only "bad" for like the first few episodes and I love Santana but she was giving him unecessary crap not excusing what he did but the only bad thing he did in season 3 was outing Santana compared to him in season 2

Sam is the new kid at school, so the co-captains, Rachel and Finn, are setting up the competition to pair Sam with Quinn (Finn's ex-girlfriend) so that Sam can win the competition and feel welcome in the club.
