Tom, you forgot the best feature! This game includes a free full professional audio read-through of the whole campaign book. This was a huge help for my wife and me as we set up the game between rounds. Would love to see more games with professional audio work done for the campaigns included.

      @@mysticmouse7983 It's at www.stoneblade.com/battlebook
Realized it's almost impossible to google for it, what a shame.

Note that when Tom is introducing the new character Rez, he has one of his two relic options (a mechanic introduced in the first expansion) side-by-side with a random new Rez-themed card that goes into the main deck. Then, when Tom is showing the "Saved Allies" upgrade cards, he had Rez's other relic card option mixed in with those cards by mistake (relics are identifiable by the 10-Mastery icon in the upper-left of the card). Anyway, while I really enjoyed the campaign of this expansion, my biggest disappointment was that there weren't at least a few more Rez-themed cards since all of the other character factions vastly outnumber them in the main deck, meaning they might not pop up very often during play.

From a different angle, I bought Shards of Infinity thinking my wife would like it (since she likes ascension). Turns out she hated the direct confrontation of the game so it mostly sat on the shelf. She enjoyed the game quite a bit once it became cooperative. So I rank this expansion quite highly.

Yeah I have a similar situation. My mother and my sisters enjoy Ascension, but they hate the hostility of Shards of Infinity.

I agree with that sentiment. My favorite deckbuilder is Thunderstone Quest, and I never play the campaign just regular games. However, I will be getting this for the fifth color, though I agree they're too few main deck cards for that color.

I played the campaign a ton with my friends, we actually found it easy and gets harder with more people. Granted, I only ever used this in conjunction with the first expansion as well so I don't know if that makes a difference. The co-op I think really is necessary here cuz everyone would count up their points then bid or ask someone else to buy to reveal more cards. And you could also have people designated jobs, i.e. the main healer or damage. Playing with people REALLY highlights the experience for me and I look forward to playing it on Heroic difficulty.

Been enjoying this game for a while now!! Really worth getting just for the campaign alone.

There arent many red/aion cards added in this expansion, but the game doesnt need a ton more cards. When you play a lot with the red cards you begin to see that they are cleverly designed to work around the design limitation of there only being a couple of them.
Honestly, if you love shards, I think this expansion is definitely worth it for the red/aion cards. Its not immediately obvious what they do but they really do impact the game.

The narrative aspect is one of our favorite things about the game. We love the story.

I love this game. All of the expansions are fantastic (though Relics is my favorite). I did find it hilariously amusing that this came out not too long after Avengers: Infinity War was released.

5th player character, an enemy to alleviate PvP, more cards... a must buy.
