Thanks Travis. You guys do a great job at Kolb. The Firestar is a joy to fly. I have close to 600 hours on my Firestar 2 and my father who has a Firestar 1 has close to 900 hours. As you can tell from all the videos, I really enjoy my Firestar. And a side note... I have only called the company a few times to get a part or ask a question but you Travis have always been very friendly and helpful.
The video was taken at 27LL which is located just outside of St. Louis Missouri on the Illinois side of the river. It's located about 7 miles southeast from Sackman Field which might be easier to find on the charts (H49) If you search Google earth and have youtube selected, the videos will appear at the correct location.
Nice video... !!! At last count I've built 22 Kolbs for customers, and myself. Have installed every size Rotax engine on them from a 377 to 912's. You just cannot beat the Kolb planes.
What is your approach speed in this video? Hard to tell if there was any headwind but extremely short landings which is very cool. I have just purchased a 91 Kolb Firestar and have yet to fly it. (Got to get a tailwheel endorsement first). I am so excited....
Great landings...just the tiniest bit of flare, and let it settle. New sub.

Good. I've seen a lot of those planes spotting Forest fires out west.

Nope. With fuel that would be over gross weight for the airplane. Someone of that size would also have difficulty fitting in the airplane.
Good practice.
