I've found that if you have the TCA thrustmaster throttle quadrant, make sure the brake selector is set to disarm. I've had the BTV in game not set otherwise
Found you through the a320 videos a while back after i got the FBW addon, really excited about the a380 now and trying to fly it properly! Thanks for all the helpful and entertaining videos! ;3
Worth mentioning that there are 5 ways to disengage BTV. 1. Apply more brakes than what BTV is commanding. 2. Hit the autothrust disengage switch on the thrust levers. This is the one I usually use at 40-50kts GS 3. Move the autobrake switch to off. 4. Press the RTO button 5. Retract the spoilers EDIT: Added 2 more methods
@@mdhazeldine As long as that touch applies more brakes than BTV is applying. For example, during rollout before the 0.3G deceleration phase starts, touching the brakes disengages BTV because no brakes are being applied by the system.
Great video. My only question is: How does reverse thrust affect the system? Like, does it take into account the amount of reverse thrust used and adjust its braking calculations on the fly? So for example if you set a certain exit, and you select idle reverse, will it suddenly reduce the braking if you suddenly decide to change to max reverse? And what if you somehow forget to engage reverse thrust at all? I presume the calculations it shows you ahead of time assume that you will engage idle reverse, so if you forget, then you're not going to make the exit...or does it then apply even MORE brake force to try and get you stopped in time?
Only thing I've noticed about this is when I link my navigraph account, for some reason my frame rate tanks for the rest of the flight, even if I unlink it. Hopefully this issue is fixed soon.
Does anyone happen to know what replay plugin works with the A380? I've tried SkyDolly which works perfectly with the PMDG 777 but the FBW A380 doesn't work at all.
I think ROT counts from the time the aircraft crosses the threshold (instead of touchdown) until it has fully vacated the runway. So it looks to me about 45s until he came to a full stop, add some time to taxi out and it seems more accurate ;)
@@nutcontroller Hello. I don't think the time is calculated from the threshold because the "dry" and "wet" marks move forward until touchdown. The time estimate seems to calculate the whole blue line (including the exit at about 10 knots)...
@@06L As I understand it, the ROT shown in the ND is a "guaranteed" (or "worst case") time, so if the touchdown is later the aircraft will still brake enough to make that exit and the actual ROT may be less than initially calculated.

@johnhedrick4300 yea I've had issues recently with the btv and pfd airport display not working. Have tried reinstalling the plane but no luck yet

I love how clear and thorough your explanations are. Great teacher

So simply touching the toe brakes isn't enough?

Afaik, method 2 is the Airbus-approved method. BTV also disengages on its own when a taxi speed of 10 knots is reached.
Big thanks for your videos ❤ The way you explain BTV is awesome and the best one I have seen so far here on YT.
I've been waiting for the FBW a380 and yoour instruction video for so long. Thanks!!!
Danke!
Awesome livery btw, love the retro Virgin colours.
An entire video on BTV! 320SP doing a great job always
Thank you captain for this knowledge. I was wondering how the system works. Now we know. Cheers and keep the blue side up!
Thank You ! Great video ! Nicely explained ! FBW have done a great job 👊❤️🙏🏻✈️👨✈️
Big thanks for these videos. Super useful, cheers.
ROT is probably Runway Occupancy Time, which would make sense at 53 seconds.
404 FPS not found. 🤣
Thanks for this informational video.
Keep 'em coming boss 🙂
Amazing video. Definitely a lot to learn with the aircraft. May I ask how do you or what do you use for instant replay?
Thank you very much, captain! 😊
13:27 what replay mod do you use? 😮
Very useful video thanks ❤

THANKS!! Very cool feature! But I have a question about the cargo doors, How do I open them for GSX?
I want gusty, windy, heavy crosswind landings!
Hey! Nice video, I really love this feature :).
Just a quick question: do u use the 4k or the 8k variant? Which one do you recommend?
Only thing I've noticed about this is when I link my navigraph account, for some reason my frame rate tanks for the rest of the flight, even if I unlink it. Hopefully this issue is fixed soon.
Thanks bro ❤
My question is where is the fix info page in this big girl. I use it all the time in the narrow bodies.
Will u be doing a livestream on this beauty soon?

Did you activate the approach phase or did it automatically? Because of your direct routing I think it could've not activated. Is that even possible?
What's in the A380's "forehead" above the cockpit?
It's great for free but even on a good rid it micro-stutters on the landings etc. I'm sticking with 32NX
Thanks for the vid! May i ask what replay tool you use?
i don’t have Navigraph.
However, i do subscribe to Foreflight.
Is there a way for it to use Foreflight data instead ?
For who doesn't have navigraph you can know the breaking distance from google maps
braking...
I just get the official charts through chartfox and save them to my local drive, and view them in the flypad.
The ROT was 53 seconds. Your landing from touchdown to full stop was 37 seconds. Does the 53 seconds include the exit (to the end of the green line)?

Nice video, may I know how did you film your landing shots?
replay tool and drone camera prolly
what graphics card are you using captain? I fly the A380 with AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT and I only get 7 FPS with the same scenery as yours!
lower your settings. also it matter on what monitor you have and cpu
it's showing not available for me
0:10 the stuttering is awful.
Wow. Great vid. Bonus butter 🫡
What laptop do you use to run msfs 2024 ? Bought a copy, my machine is not up to the graphics & power needed to run it.
