    We saw a similar change in approach I think in the way Devon attacked Denis rather than waiting for the hit and retaliating. Matt Mask was arguably at his best when he was at his most explosive off the start. Rooting for you buddy. RVJ is a mother f'n legend.

    Strong mindset! Will be great to see you not be the one getting hit first most rounds. Its impressive you catch everyone but sometimes gives them the only chance to win. 18 mins a day is a great place to start, and avoid burnout as well, sounds good.
    The best thing honestly sounds like the family gym plan. If all enjoy it it will knit everything together closer all around. Happier and motivation infinity so to speak.

    Heck yea man sounds like ya got a nice plan going with the gym stuff. And maybe use your right hook movement on the arm wrestling table haha. All loose just before the go then bam pop off a quick fast right hook movement and straight to the pad

    In that Zurab match I was thinking “man if Rob would keep his arm closer to his shoulder, he will take the hand and then be in a better position to work Zurab back over”. I truly believe you could have turned that match around.

  • @samuelr2969
    @samuelr2969 10 месяцев назад +2

    Time under tension to develop that rigidness has been there for the Kazakhs. You've been at it for some time, but perhaps you are partly hesitant on putting that strain on to your arm through offence, since you would not only have to apply your own force in an explosive manner, but on top you have to directly absorb the counter pressure of the other person whatever way he comes forth, unlike in those other sports you did.
    It may also play on the mind, that you have gone against users as a natural. If something snaps or pops, the healing process is lengthier for a natural as you know. The Kazakhs aren't filled up with large muscles like you so they might not have a fear of injuring the muscle, but they have that hardness in their arms (the arm being fused into a tighter package rather than having large external muscle bellies you're more conscious of). They are all pretty soft spoken stoic guys who seem cool headed, but once the match starts their mouth becomes loud and that adrenaline starts running which activates them to those repeated offensive surges with a will to win. It's one thing to have that adrenaline spike from nervous energy and another from anger, the latter which I think the Kazakh's exhibit more. Then it becomes more of executing a gameplan in the drivers seat rather than thinking how to react to the other guy, which helps you disassociate the guy across from your mind which can be useful.
    Anyways, hope you find your lane and best of luck.

    Hey Rob how's it going, I have a training question, do you think it's necessary to train the whole body or just specialize arm wrestling type of training? Thanks for your time!

  • @WilliamAstromAW
    @WilliamAstromAW 10 месяцев назад +11

    Would you have a problem with being coached? If not maybe getting someone like Engin/Janis or so might be a way to be accountable and also easier tap into their knowledge and maybe fill in those gaps that you self admittedly have, just a thought.

      I know the feeling with the center table strength. I like setting up on the table like I will at the start of the match and pull on an immovable object typically a chain. Seems to help. So basically isometrics. Thoughts?

    Let me ask ya a question rob. Nobody ever mentions table height. Do all professional events have the same table height? Does the taller the arm table favor the taller person. When I watch hutchings vs larratt in WAL, hutchings over powers larratt at every start. Is it because the table height favors hutchings because larratt is in a seated position to start and hutchings can put his whole body into it?

    • @RobVigeantRVJ
      @RobVigeantRVJ  10 месяцев назад

      It definitely has a height range that is optimal in my opinion.
      Too short and too tall are real.

      Well… if I’m to be honest…
      I don’t recommend his approach.
      He did have a run of injuries and a run of losing matches as well.
      That being said… his volume is higher than prime age athletes ..
      Sooo… you have to address the white elephant…. There is external factors.
      His pancakes, whatever they may be are without a doubt the reason he can put the volume in at any age and getting better all while being a horrible approach to the game

    You and John both catch people. I would think if that is where you are strong you can be in the same position with them outside their power/center with just body movement and speed. You just have to watch out for Brandon catching you with his kings...I think u can steal center from him easy. I'm not sure what your plan is after that. Will you try to beat him how John beat Michael Todd or press? I'm interested to find out!
