Another awesome video. Thank you! Would love to see one on your soil builder blend in how to utilize it best for certain applications keep up the great work!
We are hitting 70s and near 80s in Tennessee and then we'll hit a stride of 50s. Our average last frost is April 15. We did get a real odd May15 frost 4-5 years ago. I got my clover down over the past weekend.
I'm in the south and plan on throwing out clover this weekend. Bad or good? I've never frost seeded before so I'm going to give it a shot. My main concerns is that it's on a slope and turkeys will be there within 2 days. It's like every time I plant oats, rye or brassicas either that afternoon or the next day they're there. Lol! Enjoyed the video.
I frost seeded red clover about a week ago here in Pa. We’ve had up to mid 50s at day, mid 30s at night and some rain. I checked today and the majority of the seed is out of sight, buried by the rain I guess. Some of the seeds laying on the surface are already germinating. Not much but enough that you can see the tiny tap root poking out. If we get freezing temps now, which I’m sure we will, will it kill those seedlings? How tough is red clover? I’m planting it just to disc in after summer for the nitrogen boost for brassica. I hope I didn’t waste all that seed.
What kind of tips and tricks would you have for those going the no chemical route? I had decent success on a late plot last year that I brush hugged and then mowed down to nothing with the lawnmower. I then seeded and drove on it. I simply didn't have time working 7 hours from home to give it full prep. (Whitetail institute no plow) Looking to do switch maybe next year and this year i have your HD plotscreen. Thinking brush hog, 2 plow and then hit it with the tiller for an even bed. Really trying to move away from any chemicals being used.
Both switchgrass and the hd screen will need a chemical application to eliminate weed competition. The hd screen will need to be buried 1/2 to 1 inch deep.
Mix it with cheap cat litter......it will help you make it to the end so you can do two passes and not run out....may even get three pass ....the cat litter thins out the application
Cat litter is so much bigger than the clover You have to open the seeder gate so much more to get the cat litter out. Now I have to much clover coming out. We really don’t recommend anything bigger be added
@@northwoodswhitetailsfoodpl2663 didn't realize that......good to know....that's probably why when I heard u in the vid say 1.5....i was surprised.....I will try it your way

A real hard freeze may hurt some clover.
How shade tolerant is white clover? Will it work in the woods for a stage area?
most white clovers need at least half a day of sun for good consistent growth.
