    John Eberhart, I found some videos about you yesterday. Wow I wish it did not take me this long to find your content. I have been Bow hunting whitetails since I was 14, and completely by myself since I was the age of 16, all in Northwest PA. Knock on door permission and public land high pressured nocturnal deer, and to hear someone with the stats like yourself say what you have said in this video from 11:22-19:00 is truly outstanding. Thank you for that, I hope this video reaches millions of views over the next 5 years because this is the truth behind the whitetail deer woods! Thank you sir.

    Oh man! John, you have re-ignited my passion for bowhunting on public land in Michigan!
    I can't wait to attend your whitetail workshop in April with my Dad. I am super excited to be practicing how to saddle hunt. I have hunted with tree climbers, ladder stands, etc., but I think saddle hunting is a game-changer. I can't believe in my 40 years of hunting I am only now hearing about saddle hunting. Thank you for opening my eyes to a whole new hunting world. All the best John!

      I have to say David that you were hunting from the best stands and that if you learn the proper way to maneuver all the way around trees, you'll never look back, however if you only use a platform with no steps around the back side as many RUclipsr's do, you may want to stick with your lone Wolf as your shot opportunities aren't much different. States are different and there is no discussion on that fact. John

    Such a breath of fresh air to hear about success from a real world hunter actually hunting pressured deer! A guy hunting like the rest of us common folk. Most celebrity hunters don't like when you mention Eberhart , it hurts their egos. Just get tired of hearing about how if you don't plant a 20acre food plot that cost 6k dollars, you have no chance at killing a mature buck. Then you do research on them like Mr. Eberhart mentioned and you find out that they are sponsored by seed company or they own some kind of deer attractant company. My favorite part was a certain interview with Mr. Eberhart, where he said not ever going into a "sanctuary" was the dumbest thing he had ever heard! Of course he said the conditions need to be right, but you can absolutely hunt a sanctuary, just have to do it a certain way. He basically calls out the celebrity hunters who have gotten huge egos from killing big bucks on huge private farms with little to no hunting pressure. Not every tv hunter is like that, but 95% are

    • @eberhartoutdoors4219
      @eberhartoutdoors4219  4 года назад

      I view the overwhelmingly vast majority of TV hunters as actors and entertainers that hunt deer ranches similar to cattle ranches. They grow many bucks until they are ready for the entertainment market and then harvest them for that purpose. They make a great living at it just as Hollywood actors do. Have nothing against them whatsoever. It sort of reminds of the movie back to school with Rodney Dangerfield when the business professor asked the class about starting a business and how to go about it. Rodney mentioned a litiny of work and reality things that had to be done to start a business (he was a businessman) and be successful and the professor wasn't privy to most of the hard work it took for a start up company and told him to basically shut up. Then asked the class where they would build their business and Rodney blurted out, might as well be in Fantasy Land.

      Definitely have zero interest in TV. My hunting style wouldn't fit on TV very well. Not killing a buck in 2 seasons wouldn't get it on TV, they have to hunt ranches and huge managed properties where they can go and kill a monster in a few days. How many times have I heard, what a great hunt, we hunted hard for 4 days to kill this buck (from a shack next to an open field). No thanks! I wouldn't hunt those places even if they were offered, which they have been. But thanks for the support.

    Filmed several tactics (rattling, calling, decoys, scents) videos on Monday and a videos scouting public land in central Michigan for my son Joe. Found 2 good locations and they were both transition corridors with plenty of security cover leading to bedding and mast feeding areas. No crops in the area though and I was also concerned that access was a bit easier than I like even though we had to buck through some heavy brush. Easy access to hunting locations on heavily hunted properties leads to the potential of having company while tough access is definitely a deterant. John

    So happy you decided to do this John. I've already watched every video, and can't wait for the rest. I appreciate your no-nonsense approach to hunting. You speak the truth, and if that hurts people's feelings then that's too bad.

    Really looking forward to the development of this channel. All that is said is absolutely spot on. Saddles rule. The TV guys are entertainers. Hunting mature bucks on pressured public land is the greatest challenge. Etc.
    One thing I am eager to learn is proper scent control. I've not really done much that way over the years (largely due to cost and uncertainty as to effectiveness...not wanting to drop a large wad of cash on a hope). With the areas I hunt, it could be a real game changer.

    Being from Massachusetts and a bow hunter I can not agree with you more John! I shoot bucks every year in the 2.5 or 3 range and consider any kill a trophy in my area. I have a couple friends that hunt the midwest and shoot 150 class deer and think they are the greatest hunters. I tell them the same thing you say. Thanks for sharing the reality of high pressure public hunting ! I also just got into saddle hunting. Your videos are miles above everyone elses! Much appreciate you sharing your knowledge.😎

    Thank you for putting this together! definitely looking forward to this. Eberhart is highly legit. He couldn't be more correct about Michigan too. Been hunting here my whole life and its tough, but also makes you a much better hunter.

    Thanks, Jon. I'm a Michigan bow hunter and those darn Realtree videos always make me feel inadequate. But you're right, it's tough here. Hoping to up my game with your help.

      Put 95% of those guys in a heavily pressured state like Michigan and you would out kill them 9 out of 10 times - Joe
