I remember calling the technical helpline multiple times as a 7 year old, asking how I could view the game from the 3d perspective of the intro. There was something magic about it, but of course it was al pre rendered. They never told me I couldn't, they kept the dream alive. And I kept calling...
I always asked my mom to change the language in the game to english as if it were some sort of option, neither of us caught onto the fact that theyre speaking gibberish
after all these years, i finally found this video again. i remember watching this video day in day out when i was being treated in the hospital for my stage 3 kydney cancer. the young me was so obsessed with trains and lego and stuff. this is a mega nostalgia video for me
I installed it again yesterday, and I was surprised of how few thing one could make. But, back in 90s, I could spend hours on it... Also, it is nice how the concept of intro did change: at the time the intro was a magnificent 3D video which had nothing to do with gameplay graphics and features (also Carmageddon was like this).
When I was a kid my mom wouldn't really play the game until she called the company to find out what the guy was saying and then got told that he was speaking "Legoese."
I used to be scared of this cutscene in 2014 when I was 6 because I had a nightmare of the Lego trains crashing into bedroom and crushed me. I woke up scared when ever I saw legos, now thinking about it is just nostalgic and I now think the dream is funny.
hell yeah! this was my first PC game. every time i wachted this intro. and every time when it was christmas in the real world. or helloween. the game did exactly the same.
>When you realize that you've had physical brain pathways related to this game and they are only just now being re-fired after over a decade
+Destructerator it is actually insane but I literally just thought that exact same thing then came down and found this! incredible isnt it!

Hahaha
Lego employees: "I fear no man, but that thing..."
*flashbacks to that one kid who called years ago about the 3D*
"It scares me..."
I always asked my mom to change the language in the game to english as if it were some sort of option, neither of us caught onto the fact that theyre speaking gibberish
I contacted them once trying to ask how to get the electric train seen in the intro and the passenger bridges that go over roads and tracks
Unironically a better story than most hollywood productions nowadays
There was such charm to these old Lego games.
