- Mike's theme. ...Cats are inherently a little sneaky, and salespeople are inherently a little sneaky. Despite being both of these, Mike has a surprisingly sympathetic backstory that makes me want to portray her in a better light: She was rejected by her fellow "lucky cats" for the unusual color of her fur, but refused to change and decided to do her best with what she had. Her attitude is about accepting yourself despite what anyone else says. I tried to balance this attitude into a uniquely good-natured sales pitch… but still a sales pitch nonetheless. You are not immune to cute kitty propaganda.
Did you know? Lori-hime, besides being a princess, is also a catgirl. Therefore she is the voice of this cat, and will be the voice of any future cat characters.

The voice you gave Mike is the perfect impression of a cunning schemer who knows full well her effectiveness and puts up a convincing front.
I love how she never once regret having a different color of fur from the other maneki-nekos, so much so that she would probably charge to be pet or something along those lines, lol.
Okay. So... I haven't actually played Unconnected Marketeers I didn't know what to expect from Mike. Around March 2020, I got the push I needed to finally quit collectable card games. I can't imagine a more horrifying 4 word sentence and you suckerpunched me with it mid-song.
Dramatic jokes aside, 10/10 work as always Lyrica and Lori-hime!
Lyrica dropping yet another absolute fire lyrical cover surely brightens up my day... and just whole week, really.
This was a really fun cover! I enjoyed all the references to cat-related sayings and expressions, and I think they fit well with Mike's theme in particular. They made this feel like one of those fun songs you could listen to over and over, and I look forward to doing so! Combined with Lori's voice, which was quite well suited for the occasion, it made this cover perfect for a sneaky yet charming little cat like Mike. Lori's pixel art was excellent as always, and I liked that it even had a little animation. Well done, Lyrica and Lori!

this channel singlehandedly got me into touhou, still haven't seen much past the first game but it's pretty cool
Mike's pretty unusual among Stage 1 bosses go. Usually, they just get in your way, often without actually adding anything to the story. But Mike? She explicitly fights you in order to send you on your way, in not one game but two! Very few characters in this series come remotely close to being as helpful as she is, and she's a scheming saleswoman! Incredible.
Now if only I could ever figure out how many syllables her name has... (>~>;

That was a long wait, but the wait was worth it! Very fun lyrics and overall pretty good touhou lyrics video. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't sneak a peek every couple weeks to see if there's a new upload, but I'm glad that it worked out in the end. Anyways while I really enjoy you guys' voice and everything, with the pitch shift, the audio kinda peaks at some points, I don't know if it's because of my 5$ headphones, but other than that it's overall a fun experience. "Competition is catty and gossip is chatty" was straight up a home run for me. Really reminded me why I enjoy these types of video. All in all, thank you for entertaining me for all these years and continuing to do so, it really makes my day a bit more enjoyable. Have a good one Lyrica live!!!!

Mike is a maneki-neko who was bullied for her unusual color, so she had to drop out of her training. However, she didn't come out of that experience thinking there was something "wrong" with her. She actually thought of it as opportunity to pursue new paths and be successful for her own sake.
I think the message is a good attitude: Keep learning and do your best to improve, but not to meet anyone else's standards. No one is perfect, but no one is useless either.
She's turning this personal philosophy around as a sales pitch. She's selling ability cards that grant you new powers -- but it's not like you NEED these powers to be whole. She's not imitating her bullies and saying, _"you suck unless you change yourself!"_ She's saying, _"you're awesome, so you deserve this chance!"_ (Ulterior motives? Maybe. But it's a much kinder sales technique than the alternative!)

The tune and melody is something more than a captivating sound,
A curse, almost, as you listen like fictional shackles to which you are bound.
All of the lyrics became blended and mixed, but nothing stood out to me more than, " you're not broken but you can be fixed"

Mike Goutokuji
Species: Maneki-neko
Ability: Capable of beckoning in money or customers
The maneki-neko of Goutoku-ji temple are ordinarily white cats.
She, however, was born a calico cat, and it seems that she struggled quite a bit due to her appearance.
At times, she was shunned as a poor imitation, and at other times, those around her tried to dye her fur.
But because she spat back at them that there was nothing wrong with being calico, she was ultimately cast out from the group and was unable to partake in her maneki-neko training.
Perhaps because of this, her ability as a maneki-neko developed imperfectly.
Maneki-neko are meant to beckon money and customers, but in her case, beckoning one of the two will end up driving away the other.
By that point, she was worthless to place in a shop. And of course, none were likely to claim her.
She thought of this as a stroke of good luck, if anything, and abandoned maneki-neko society feeling wholly refreshed.
And thus, she set out to live a new life in the mountains, comfortable and free of worry.
