    Hi!
There’s a “korean pancake mix” (부침가루) you can buy at hmart or asian grocery stores! It has seasoning(salt +sugar)/ baking powder in the mix already so you get a perfect fry with using the product! You can make pajeon/kimchi jeon/zuchinni ( any vegetable, really).
This is what korean people use to make “batter” lol.
I hope your family and Julianna will be able to try it one day! Thanks for all the wonderful videos Benji! 😊

Thinly cut zucchinni deep fried is so delicious , it's like fries very crispy and thin but i've only had it once at a local greek restaurant since my family never deep fries only shallow fries.

My grandmother ( Nonna in Italian) would make dandelion greens. I think people ate them during WWII and the Great Depression since food was rationed.
The closest H-Mart to me is in. Chicago. I have always wanted to check it out. I wish we had more Asian grocery stores here in Northwestern Indiana.

I love that you are teaching the girls Japanese and making them wanting snacks into a teachable moment. I could definitely see JMK going to college in Japan, the Phillipines, or Korea. I was born and raised in Napa (Napa Valley) and our neighbor growing up was a pilot for JAL and a JAL pilot instructor as a fun fact, all JAL pilots in training will train at the Napa Airport. My neighbors wife was always so sweet and kind, she was incredibly hospitable, she taught me how to make ketcup rice and taught me Japanese. Mind you this was like 35 yrs ago, but i remember it like it was yesterday

Dandelion is so good for! You can eat the entire plants even the roots!! Its also a coffee substitute from the root! Best to take them from a place where you know they dont use pesticides. Or just plant it!

I enjoyed watching you guys shopping at H Mart. It influenced me to go shopping at the H Mart out here in downtown Vancouver. Although there were certain items I couldn't find in the storemade pickled section that you had pointed out and I couldn't find their storemade Kimchi and just picked out another brand. But it does make a difference when you buy Kimchi from an actual Korean supermarket. They have a vietnamese supermarket out here called 88 supermarket and they carry a lot of interesting herbs and asian vegetables. Also a variety of fish sauce. So you get different options.

Just fyi, Sweet rice is glutinous rice 👍🏼. It can be used as a dessert or with any kind of protein. My family and I love eating in place of regular rice. It’s great to use it as a travel snack or meal with bacon 🤤

@@BenjiManTV i just noticed that they closed down a Sam's Club in Washington State 8 years ago, that's too bad. Hawaii's Sam's Club has good looking short ribs laid out nicely in the container where you can see all the ribs, and it is sold at a great price. I use the Instant pot to cook the short ribs in the sauces i suggested for 25 min. & it comes out really tasty & tender.

The zucchini you pan-fried is called hobak jeon but any veggie, fish or meat (even spam!) can be made into jeon. Jeon (as in jaw-n) means pan-fried fritter in South Korea. ❤ Also, did you know that the Philippines and Mexico have a lot in common specially in food and produce because of the galleon trade?! Cheers to more food content and learning a bit of history about it too!

Korean food has their traditional food and then they have food influenced by Japan and China because of their history with them. Japan occupied Korea. A lot of people think Black Americans influenced Korean Fried Chicken but thats not true. A Korean businessman went on a trip to America and tried KFC. He decided to sell it on the corner of Lotte mall and business started booming. Thats how Korean fried chicken started
