Woot woot lol, I haven't been able to try Korean barbecue yet but I know I will love it whenever I get the opportunity. Love so many of the K-pop groups listed already, also FX
woot woot for BBQ !! I must admit though, I had tried the Japanese Nikuyiku but never the Korean one! Would love to try this! all the ingredients looks delicious. Can not wait to see part 2 !
What!!?? Time for a Kpop music Monday? (Absolutely joking 🙃 the Korean music labels have claimed ownership of many music Mondays, “copyright” for using 3-5 seconds of their music video at the beginning)
Omg do not play with my heart haha what if you didn't use the audio! It does feel like the old school good time vibes! T.o.p is in squid games too, g dragon just dropped a single, taeyang going on tour I think and daesung with youtube!! Also love your videos Martina!!!
0:36 That's because 2008-2016 was K-pop's best era objectively. That's a fact. In addition to the groups you've listed, that era also spans some of BoA's best songs starting with the amazing Eat You Up choreo but also captures her Kiss My Lips album. After School was at their prime either drumming, tap dancing, pole dancing, and just being so amazingly creative. 9Muses and UKiss were there too, making awesome music. If it weren't second gen to third gen, K-pop wouldn't be famous and popular and international today.
I'm gonna say something that may come across wrong, so I apologise in advance. As a former slim person whose chronic illnesses, including EDS, got the better of me in my 30s, it is incredibly refreshing to still see a positive influence on my screen for someone going through the same thing. I've followed you for over a decade, maybe even 15 years? You were the only person i had heard of at the time with my same illness, who broke and faltered constantly, but who also gave me the drive and the courage to get back up. You were my inspiration for spending almost a month in Korea at 20 years old with my best friend, and you are still the reason I love coming back to your channel. People change, and they grow, and i feel incredibly privileged to have been able to have you as an example to grow with. Even in divorce, at my loneliest and most alone, I want to thank you for staying online and for giving me something to come back to into my 30s ❤ I'm not sure if I've ever left a comment before, but I suddenly felt it necessary to share what you've done for me. The lovely stranger, who, though a lot like me, I have never met ❤
*huge hug* thank you for taking the time to leave such a personal comment, and for sticking around for so many years to see my little life journey unfold. It’s had a lot of ups and tons of terrible downs: but I refuse to give up. I’m glad you got the chance to visit Korea with your best friend, that sounds like such a great adventure 💗
It would be fabulous if you and Dan could do a Canadian version of your bonenkai this Christmas - for some reason this was one of my favourite videos of yours and it would be great to have a glimpse of the pub scene over there :)
Dan!!! What a great surprise in the sneak-peek. Also fantastic video with so many different parts to it Martina, 1. setting the scene, 2. treasure hunt in the grocery shop, 3. delectable food court, it just kept going!! I really enjoyed this whole video.
I love how this is both a neat throwback to the OG things you taught us about from when you lived in Korea and all the 2000s references, but we get to learn about how to access it in a new setting in a new way. Cool idea! Love cupcake Meems in the BG. WOOT WOOT!
I absolutely agree with you that 2008-2016 were the BEST years for k-pop!! And SHINee, my absolute favorite, debuted in 2008, and have truly legendary bops from those years!
Yup! And if you don’t have those little holes, you just use a small tin that is heat resistant, add oil, and pop in the garlic. It is ✨ so tasty ✨ and yes, a SURPRISE SIR DANIEL!
Martina, can I just say, you have been such a personal source of strenght for me (hope that doesn't sound weird lmao). I've been watching your videos ever since I was a teen finishing highschool and everything you've released was always so fun and interesting to see, and given your health condition, I would always think "damn, that's one strong lady, if she can, why can't I?". Eventually, I visited Korea and Japan multiple times myself, but now I'm 30, and I myself was diagnosed with a chronic health condition (POTS) after experiencing heart failure last year. I'm still in the very early stages of living life with limitations, and I find myself thinking frequently of you and how you've overcome every single obstacle in your life and managed to come out on top - stronger and even brighter than before. I know that there are days when you might feel brought down by life, tired and angry, but I hope that you maybe read this and know that there's a fan of yours somewhere in Europe who wakes up nearly every day feeling like there's no point in going on, but then she remembers your strength and uses that to get her butt out of bed and live life, no matter how limited it may be. YOU are our ladder, Martina ❤✨️🌸
7:58 "The sacred 50mil" sequence had me giggling, perhaps, too much for a man my age. You were 100% the inspiration for doing this many years ago, the camping themed Korean BBQ restaurant really solidified the concept haha. Another banger video as always. With bonus Dan no less!
My daughter was watching this video over my shoulder and is going bonkers for the kitty cat cupcake in the background! Any chance you will release some merch featuring this little guy??
That’s Dr.Meemersworth as a cupcake! It was limited edition sticker merch when I did the USA tour, but might be great on shirt! Nice idea, maybe I’ll do that 🧁
Lunch looks amazing. Honestly, I would eat the side veggies as a salad. lol Also, we have the air dryers too. They actually work now. When we were kids, they barely did anything and you stood there forever. The new ones are like a jet plane. Dry in seconds. lol
omg I always recommend people check out their local Asian markets! There's like 6 in my city, lol, cuz we have a super high Chinese, Filipino, and Korean pop here. But infinitely cheaper stuff than any Loblaws related store. Gonna have to go grab all this stuff when I get the chance :O And super happy to see Dan again
Yeeeees! I started listening to kpop in 2009/2010 and also discovered eat your kimchi at the same time, and if you’ve lived it u know it was the GOLDEN AGE of kpop! U can’t beat snsd, 2ne1, etc! Also I’m 30 now so I’ve been following EAK studio and now King Kogi since year 1, that’s crazy cuz how did all these years just run by? Jesus
Now that I had time to watch the rest of the video, I love watching you go to the grocery store and all the information with every ingredient lol its so entertaining!
I couldn’t help it 😂 but I tucked my face into my neck like Jabba the hut and afterwards saw the shot and was like OMG HOW TERRIBLE but we’re absolutely using it 😂
I forgot that moment until reading your comment, them chuckled all over again! I wonder if anyone looked at the store security footage and had a chuckle too!
Isn’t it hard to not have it at your fingertips!?? But doing this in the garage with an open breeze was so nice 💗 if I wasn’t filming, I would just sit in the backyard, but we had to control the lighting and wind against the tripods
We’ve been shopping at that exact PAT for years and never saw the radish wrappers. My mind is blown! We do get the fried chicken skewers regularly though. They used to sell roasted sweet potatoes too which were my dog’s favourite.
An absolutely massive F1 fan since 2019! Total nerd for it, I watch the Tech Talks, the pre-shows, the practices , the quali, the Grand Prix…love Lewis Hamilton, and my Emo Prince Charles 🚗🧚🏾
I really enjoy watching your videos and your enthusiasm for food from all over, especially Asian cultures. Hope you’re experiencing many glimmers ✨ and having a wonderful trip to Canada.
Also love seeing this video, I just woke up a little while ago and I'm still in body cool down mood from the stiffness and inflammation and pain from the night. so I'm just cuddled up in my recliner with a big queen size soft blanket that I got for my birthday eating snacks lol
WOOT WOOT! I wanna get one of those portable gas grills instead of the charcoal one time use ones we have in the UK. Everything looks delicious! Looking forward to part 2!
Thank you so much for making videos Martina, you shaped me as a 12 year old- my love for Korea, Japan, and every other country you’ve made a video about. I now have a lil 17 month old names Jasper- and I can’t wait to show him your videos- and share the love for other cultures 😭💛
I know it's not the exact same but when KPot, a Korean bbq and hot pot chain, opened up near me, I was SO happy. Words cannot describe just how delicious KBBQ really is. It just hits different. Also learned thanks to it that gochujang is the pinnacle of delicious and spicy when you make a dipping sauce with it- and that my favorite kimchi is the radish kimchi for the punch of sour-hot.
Yaaayy Korean BBQ. We walked out of our Korean BBQ restaurant in the States for two people $75.00 with not a lot of food. All the sides and lettuce for wrapping were separate and expensive. It will be so much cheaper to cook this at home so thank you. ❤
It is SO SO much cheaper at home! And I get so mad when they charge for extra stuff. I'll say it is time consuming to make it at home, but that's part of the fun! Just pop on a TV show or movie, and clean and pat down veg like the way of the ahjummas
That's crazy! I've never been to a Korean place that charged for lettuce/sides 😳 It's always been included (and refilled for free if you're eating in person)
I'm afraid of going to places like that. I look for ayce Korean bbq. You can request as many sides & meat as you like. You're only charged extra when there's a lot of food left over
Enjoy Part 1 of this Korean BBQ epic! And can I get a "WOOT WOOT" from all the BBQ lovers and OG Kpop fans.
WOOT WOOT!!
Woot woot lol, I haven't been able to try Korean barbecue yet but I know I will love it whenever I get the opportunity. Love so many of the K-pop groups listed already, also FX

WOOT WOOT!
G-Dragon just put out a new single and now there's a new Korean BBQ video from Martina, are we sure we haven't gone back in time.
What!!?? Time for a Kpop music Monday?
(Absolutely joking 🙃 the Korean music labels have claimed ownership of many music Mondays, “copyright” for using 3-5 seconds of their music video at the beginning)

Would love your MV reactions Martina!
Surprise Dan??? My heart is so happy! ❤

You still have good taste 😉 haha

'Your friendly neighborhood Caucasian lady' got a like from me with that
Martina is so powerful that I can watch her walk around a grocery store for ~20 minutes and I am still entertained and educated
Exactly this!! 🥰

Love a good King Kogi video! I was wondering who was operating the camera...and now I see DAN is in Canada! Can't wait for the next video!
I was wondering the exact same thing!
I can't overstate how happy these videos make me. Also throwing my vote in for a "Martina's Midnight Munchies" sometime!
It would be fabulous if you and Dan could do a Canadian version of your bonenkai this Christmas - for some reason this was one of my favourite videos of yours and it would be great to have a glimpse of the pub scene over there :)
Such a good idea! 🍻
Martina you smol bean, you are so very loved 💗
😭 😭 thanks for the love

Another Martina video, bless ❤🎉❤🎉 Anyone else remember the Gochu incident/joke?? 😅
That’s exactly why I looked at the screen and paused 😂 I contemplated telling the tragic gochu story…
First thing I thought of 😂
That charles and lewis t-shirt. ICONIC 🏎️

Martina videos always make my day better watching from the couch during a nasty sick week blegh 💗
Sorry to hear you’re feeling sick, I hope this video brought a bit of joy 💗
Amazing! This video feels like a warm hug. It's a nice blend of old and new, the fun stuff and the everyday stuff. Can't wait for part 2!
I got to the PAT on Bloor and had no idea there was a giant store in Mississauga. Also, always excited for surprise Dan!!
yaaay, dan is with you!! I love seeing both of you guys in videos!
AHHHH. Thank you for posting, Martina! That garlic oil?? YES PLEASE. 😮 I didn't even know that was something that existed!!
Yup! And if you don’t have those little holes, you just use a small tin that is heat resistant, add oil, and pop in the garlic. It is ✨ so tasty ✨ and yes, a SURPRISE SIR DANIEL!

She used Kevin kissy face 😂
Might I recommend the phrase, Let’s Pitter PATter away!
A much better phrase than mine! 🦇
The pepper foreshadowing, lol. Can't wait to see pt.2
Lunch looks amazing. Honestly, I would eat the side veggies as a salad. lol Also, we have the air dryers too. They actually work now. When we were kids, they barely did anything and you stood there forever. The new ones are like a jet plane. Dry in seconds. lol
Just so scary for me to use haha! They are epic hard core hand drying.
So much fun! 😊🎉
Yay! And meat… tasty tasty meat 🥩
This video gave me life in so many ways aaaaaahhhhhhhh but also DAN!!! IT'S DAN! I am so happy.
Loved your use of Mozart while casually shopping for Korean items

Me and my soju obsessed friends NEED that soju dispenser

Are they together? Like as a couple? Did i miss that somewhere?
@@celestedrake7927yeah me too! That would be amazing, I love them both ❤
Your videos are always so relaxing and comforting. Just what I need to recover from doing 2 days of work.
Grew up watching your videos. They always bring such comfort and joy. Thank you for continuing to create these videos for us
Martina's hair looks so healthy =w=
Omggggggg yes! I moved back from Korea this year after five years and I miss BBQ!
Isn’t it hard to not have it at your fingertips!?? But doing this in the garage with an open breeze was so nice 💗 if I wasn’t filming, I would just sit in the backyard, but we had to control the lighting and wind against the tripods
@ it really is!! Though actually I found it hard to eat very often there either since so many restaurants wanted to only serve groups lol
We’ve been shopping at that exact PAT for years and never saw the radish wrappers. My mind is blown! We do get the fried chicken skewers regularly though. They used to sell roasted sweet potatoes too which were my dog’s favourite.
omg i thought the videography was dan-esque!!
So glad to see this type of vid return. Also love the dynamic duo of you and Dan. Your bond is infectiously positive.
Wait a darn heckin' second. Martina, are you an F1 fan?! Loved the video and excited to see you and Dan in the next video!
An absolutely massive F1 fan since 2019! Total nerd for it, I watch the Tech Talks, the pre-shows, the practices , the quali, the Grand Prix…love Lewis Hamilton, and my Emo Prince Charles 🚗🧚🏾
@KingKogi I watch all that, too! And today's quali getting cancelled was an interesting turn of events. Hope it isn't too wet tomorrow.
I love the Leclerc and Hamilton shirt❤
This video is just what I needed today!!! Thank you so much Martina!! ❤
I really enjoy watching your videos and your enthusiasm for food from all over, especially Asian cultures. Hope you’re experiencing many glimmers ✨ and having a wonderful trip to Canada.

I am a Charles fan, he is such an emo Prince. But I love Lewis Hamilton the most 💗 luckily they’ll teammates next year!
Hi Martina. I totally agree with your views on k-pop. Was an awesome time and met Seventeen and BTS when they came to Australia 💜🙏🌷
It really is really good to see you and you and Dan together! Loveee this type of videosss!!
The spirit of TOP possessing this video brings me so much joy.
