Just like VR Chat, I guess it also depends on your friend group. If you have a friend group that's the right fit for you, playing any game will feel like a fuckton of fun. Although I agree VR Chat have _generally_ a more mature audience

I saw myself twice in this video, once on the community board (I made the How to Earn Tokens video!), and the other on the video partner page, and why did that feel like a weird jump scare each time??? Something I didn't expect to see today! XD I clicked on this video not even knowing you were going to Rec Room! I appreciate you taking the time to give it a shot and make a video! I'm also glad there's parts of the game you enjoy! I play VRChat as well, and love to hop back and forth between them. They're both the same yet unique in their own ways! I work every single day to keep Rec Room a better place, and I appreciate seeing what other people's experiences are. I have played Rec Room a good amount, and from my experiences I can summarize it like this: (my honest opinion) Pros: Fun games, cool design (UI, avatars, etc...), can find some neat people, the maker pen, the creator thing. Cons: Can Be VERY toxic (honest), can be very laggy (its their servers, one day its ok, the next its horrible, and it affects everyone in the map, FPS stays the same, but the latency is what is bad), honestly gives off cash grab vibes.

Right, I find it hard to find adults that are chill. The majority of adults that I meet act like they are better than literal children, scream,cuss although cussing is funny sometimes it begins to be toxic.
Rec Room is kinda cool, only issue i have with it is the UI and the design of events. When someone join the room, it has to tell you, your watch is a pain to use, the keyboard as well and the pop ups that teach you about the way the game works doesnt make sure you caught that, too many times a pop up about items dissapear because i got a notification or a game started. One good thing though is the sound design for it is pretty good. I like the dimension of having his own customisable avatar even if it sucks you need money and yeah, its a weird game that really.. is not close to replace Vrchat.
Rec room is also on PS VR and it's nice to be able to socialize with some of my friends That only have PS VR. Plus paintball is really fun and we had some great moments in cards against humanity.
as someone who quit rec room and moved to vrchat, rec room is way better then vrchat if your brand new to vr, its a lot simpler and easier to wrap your head around, buuuuuuut it just feels like the devs only want the money from it and dont care about it anymore if im being honest, the game isnt awful just rarely ever gets updates that change things people actually want and in my opintion just doesnt feel the same as what it used to
I feel like rec room is better for fun mini games and it can even doubles as daycare for the kids. VRChat is better to meet people be social and watch movies and stuff. I like both and i think they coexist more than they compete with each other
As a rec room veteran i'd say that you can people of different ages based on what game you play. but there is no stopping from you finding a child in rec room. like the Rec Center for example theres mostly kids but a group teenagers and a few adults. Prison Life for another example it kinda just depends, but Luxy Night Club has more adults and teenagers then children. Remember there is a rule that COC says that anyone that is 12 or under must have a junior account so if you hear a person that sounds like a kid or hear a person tell you they're a kid then you can report them and have them banned. so while the expectation was teenagers they got some kids who typed in a fake birth date.
kids, in all honesty, are what make rec room come together as an experience. it wouldn't be as complete without the screeching, speech-impediment cussing, and crying over "who's in charge" obviously rec room has a TON of creative freedom! the games alone could be played for hours on end, with, or without a friend. but hey --- kids make it all the funnier. thanks for further emphasizing that reason, twice LOL. good vid

I personally never play VR chat because of the community, and how the game works, and I have poured roughly 1000 hours into rec room. Rec room just has that little big planet/playstaion home vibe that other platforms cant get, and it feels more welcoming then VR chat.
the diffrence between rec room and vrchat for me is that i go on rec room if i want to torture myself with kids and go to vrchat if i want to torture myself with suggestive egirl avatars
Rec Room has full body avatars now. (They’re in beta) and Rec Room has RRS (Rec Room Studio) which is just unity but for making Rec Room games. I can see the game being a much better place in the next coming years. Edit: I’d also like to add that VRC is more for hanging out and Rec Room is for being active and hanging out. VRC is better to hang out in but Rec Room has the best of both worlds being a recreational game and a social game. I personally like Rec Room better but I understand that it’s all about the type of person.
I used to play rec room on the PSVR (it didn't have vr chat) and it was a blast. All I did was mess around in the rec room, and play the shooter games with my friends. I have to say though, the graphics on pc look wayyy better, and the game has seemed to change a lot while also remaining the exact same somehow. Fun fact: I didn't know this game had skins when I played it. Fun fact 2: I was the squeaker child when I played back in the day lol.
I tried it for my 1st time today after being on vrchat that past 4 days. I'm going to be honest it was super fun but I think it was because it was during school on a Monday and I was getting more polite stay at home kids. Anyway wish vrchat ran this smooth on my pc cause I still love it too.

Welcome home, I can't help you much but if you want I can teach you all the ways of the sword I'm a retired sensei and I'm actually going to leave recroom soon but alot of the sword fighting techniques weren't passed down to the next generation bc the ppl that did them just got bored of how weak everyone else was and left I'm a 2nd generation sword fighter and my sensei was a first generation before he died of covid that is but basically I'm willing to give you a couple techniques before I leave this game because if I don't pass them down.... who will?
I logged on VRChat for the first time in months on my headset and the game is just almost unplayable now on the Quest 2. 90% of the avatars don't load due to poor performance, I'm constantly sent home due to running out of memory, and any world with 30+ players is pushing the headset to the limit. I didn't have this problem two years ago when I first bought the headset so I'm stuck having to play PC only. My biggest #1 issue with the game is its full of underage kids and adults seem like an extinct species now. An adults only VRChat would be a god send.
Gotta say, I like both, but seriously, Rec Room’s Paintball Game is sooo much better than any shooter in VRC
