I was always told sticks need to fit in the butterfly not standing. If your stick fits standing it's going to put your blocker out of position when you go down which is a large part of modern goaltending.
Stick sizing changed quite a bit, and these guidelines are quite dated. NHL capped it at 26" and the average Goalie size is 6'2" ... 6'2" guys are using 24" - 26' ... Smaller goalie (5'10 use 23-24") Need an active stick, and lighter the better.
as a 5' 6" goalie I've been using a 25" True for a while now. Is it worth changing?? Blocker tends to be my strength, but would it help with my 5 hole coverage? I'm assuming a 24" is what I'm "supposed" to use?
@@InGoalMedia wow. were in the 26 inch range for six feet modern day thats big. on the extreme end brobrovsky uses a 22 inch in ccm measurement and hes over 6 foot.
Your stick sizing is totally off. You're correct about how you're explaining things, but your model is barely bending his knees to get in his "goalie stance". You can't judge goalie stick size at all when you're basically standing straight up. The goalie needs to get in a deep stance, just the same they would be facing a shot in a game to properly see where the stick will lie.

I use 25.5 for both main and backup sticks
Pads will add about 2 inches to you height on your knees when down.Keep in mind .
good point!

I thought i would try a 27” stick I found I got scored on more In the 5 hole.
Keep your stick on the ice, that's an error on your part.

What is the warrior quick mid equivalent for the other ones?
That’s just the blade curve it has nothing to do with the paddle size
I buy a 27- or 26. Then shave them down to a 23. Companies need to start making sticks for the modern style of goalies.
So a warrior 25” is a Bauer intermediate then? 23.5
I was wondering the same thing.
Checked this at a store yesterday. The Bauer intermediate 24” lines up exactly with a warrior 25”
How tall are you?
6 feet
