PLEASE do not stop these tutorials. I have made everything so far and cant wait for more. You are a great teacher. I'm a beginner at sewing and you make it so easy for me. Thank you for everything.
Couldn’t have ever made this without this tutorial. I would have sewed it up completely wrong and never figured out why..but listening to your directions helped me understand what I did wrong so I could fix it before continuing.
I love how well you explain the process. What I find funny is this is the second bag videoI have watched and the inside pocket fabric is upside down. That would drive me crazy. Thanks so much for explaining so well.
Oh yeah, just noticed that the stems are going up. Have done that before on the outside of the bag - directional fabric - ugh. Had my Mom rip out the stitches for me so I could then sew it correctly.
I made this tote bag for my sister and her friend. They love them! I am now making 3 more as gifts for some other friends who saw them. Thank you for making the directions easy to follow!!
Erica, thank you so much for doing a tutorial on this quilt as you go bag. I love it! You are a wonderful teacher. I have made several of your bags so far. This is definitely going on my to do list! ❤️
A great bag Erica! I like this method of bag making, and your zip is made so easy to follow. Some tuck the zips in and I seem to get bulk at the ends, this is lovely and flat. Thank you, another great addition to my library of Erica bags!
I love it! I am glad you mentioned about the bag being washable! My daughter is an RN and I will be making one of these for her to take her clothes back forth from home to work and vise versa!
Thank you! I just finished my first ever bag and it looks so professional. You are so good at teaching and making things easy. I have learned so much from your videos and am so appreciative.
Love that bag. My wadding arrives tomorrow hopefully. I will start and sew one straight away. Thank you for all your videos. I did my first bag step by step with your video.
You are so creative. Thanks for the zipper tabs. I made the double zipper pouch I like the way the zipper looks with the tabs. Now I can try this also. Your projects are so easy to do. Thank you for that also. I am just now starting to use the foam batting. I think it takes a little getting used to, but I like the way the bags turn out.
@@teresakent8614 would you happen to know how the depth of a tote bag with a box bottom affects the height and width, I have been struggling with this for years and I just cannot get a good grasp as to how it works. Especially if you want to customize your bag size.
@@barbra429 I believe Christine's home affairs from Australia explains it well. I usually do 1/2 yard bag each side. I sew a triangle for my boxed corners. So after I sew one side - pretty sides together, I push my fingers down into the bag, forming a triangle. You can pin it if you want to judge whether you're going to like the size of the squat, then adjust as needed. I usually just eyeball mine, sew straight across to form the 3rd side of the triangle, then go to the other side of the same bag and match up the triangles or I guess you could measure it. I think she sews seams has a shortz video on the explanation as well. Hope that helps.
Another beautiful and fun project. This going to be my 3rd bag project from all your bag tutorials. Thank you for sharing your kindness and always be safe❤️❤️
Thanks. Just a suggestion if you want the corners up near each side of your zipper to be straight and not dented inward use a technique called The Butler method. The video is by Amy Lynne Designs. Very nice straight zipper corners. There are others with videos but only hers really works well to me. And you also have the option of not even having to use tabs. Hope you don't mind me sharing just trying to help.
Super cute bag Erica! Will definitely be making these for friends, family and one for myself! :) I just love all of your tutorials and your vlogs too! You are the Best! Take care and stay safe!
Thank you for this tutorial! I made one of your other bags that turned out great. It came out smaller than pattern, but was amazing to make. I can’t wait to make this one.

Hi Erica, i saw on one of your videos where you mentioned that you wish you could get more of the Sugar Creek collection by Corey Yoder. Quilter's Dream in Loveland, CO has yardage and also some of the precuts. I was just there last week and they had a lot of it:)
Great bag Erica! Such fun fabric. Love all your bag tutorials. Sewing a squishy bag drawstring one this past week. Haven’t done the final steps yet but looking great.
