  • Seth and I hit 2 different parks on a sweltering June day. I jumped onto my first rail and dropped in on the biggest wall ever! Busted my hip a few times and its gonna hurt a while, but overall we had a great day on the blades!

I've started rollerblading and I'm thinking of getting into aggressive as we have a bunch of undercover skateparks in my city and it rains a lot for half the year here. It costs money to go to rinks for inline skating or ice skating so I thought maybe getting into aggressive inline might be a good free activity. I see these ledges and rails though and I'm worried I'll be too chicken to ever really do them. I'm worried I'll end up hitting my tailbone or shines or something. I'm not even sure if I'll have the guts to learn to drop in. I won't know until I get out there and give it a go I guess haha.

There is definitely an element of fear involved and that's part of what makes it so exciting. Overcoming fear of doing something and making it happen is one of the best feelings on the world. You just have to work your way into it little by little and don't try to do something out of your ability level. Don't let others push you into doing something you are unready physically to handle, but do push yourself out of your comfort zone sometimes, its the only way to really improve. If you do that little by little, eventually your comfort zone expands and before you know it, things that used to scare you become the very things you can't wait to do. Give it a try, I think you will be glad you did!

You have to get your knee little out and put some weight in (foot on the rail) so this way the rail don´t push you out the ledge.

Yea, I am struggling with the mizu position and am going back to what has worked for me so far, the left foot back soul grind. Hopefully I will have some more success with that, its just a more painful position for me overall.
