Side note: The total for all Alpha skills is 20+ million. If you get Skill Injectors or go Omega you can train past 5 million, and still use those skills when returning to alpha.
thanks for this, I was wondering how my ex-omega accounts could have so many active skills in alpha state
A tip for new bros starting out, do project discovery. Just while flying between destinations, to missions sites and while mining etc. it’s good money once you’re accuracy gets up to 99% (99k isk per slide) and you can do 5 a minute.
Thank you for this Alpha content. This is precise what I'm looking for.
Awesome! That’s why input it up! I spent so much time flailing around learning from my mistakes, hopefully I save you some errors 😊
I have 4 old characters and this is super useful to how I can better my current/future endeavors.
Interesting video, lots of nice pieces of info.
Now, if you plan to go Omega for a bit, things may be different. One thing you haven't talked about is implants and remaps. They don't matter much as long as you're alpha, as all you have to do is wait for a bit longer.
But say you go Omega for one month. Then you're paying for every minute of training in those 30 days, and you want to make the most of it. So remap it is, and possibly +4 or +5 implants for those 2 specific attributes. Maybe divided between two training clones, you don't put all your eggs in a single basket so to speak.
Now, you have to think what attribute combos make more sense. There are two big families, some lesser ones, and the odd skills. INT+MEM (in that order) and PER+WIL are the big ones. Most support skills (tank, flying, etc.) fall into the INT+MEM family, most ship and combat skills (racial ships, gunnery, missiles) belong to the PER+WIL family. Then there's the smaller CHA family, for fleet boosts and trade.
So, if you're planing to get to a 20M SP alpha via temporary Omega (as opposed to injectors), chances are that you'll have a INT+MEM clone or/and a PER+WIL one, and remap accordingly.
That leaves the odd skills to train with the initial 5M SP. I'd never train ships or turrets in the initial alpha phase. If (and only if - I must stress this) you plan to go Omega at some point, you'll want to optimize, and those are the more likely skills you're going to train while Omega.
It's about 8 months of Omega after the initial 5M SP, to get the 15M remaining SP. If you want to keep the sweet bonus remap, you plan for 1 remap during those months. So the most likely plans would be either start with PER+WIL and then switch to INT+MEM or vice versa. You just want to have acquired all skills that you need and do not fit in either family before going Omega.
I just made a new alpha, and started train the odd ones (drones and scanning) right away. I have a dedicated traders so I don't care about trading skill.
And of course you're right, the unallocated SP are extremely important for functional characters (as opposed to just toons for skill farming). Those are the main source of improvements for those odd skills after the initial phase. And generally speaking being able to train something on the spot can be useful. My main is subcap only, but he's actually only a few days of training away from some capitals (dreads, JFs, carriers). Being able of flying them I mean, no guns etc. It won't happen, but should I be requested of assisting someone moving a capital out of harm, assuming they can provide me with the skillbook, I know I could do it in minutes.
I created one to fly a Gila. So it has Caldari / Gallente Cruisers with drone and missile skills. Still had room for plenty of Engineering, Armor and Shield training too.
Yeah that’s a good example! Or if you were truly obsessed with Asteros, Amarr+Gallente.
Had the idea of making an alpha alt that is specialized in flying frigate and destroyer skills to do goofy fw shit with. Been really wanting to try it out, especially after the recent changes, but I don't want to get my main involved since I either have to leave my Corp or enlist my Corp. This plan is basically what I had in mind.
i really like it when he said "I love you" :) also great vid, helped alot. too bad I claimed the 1M points right away :(
In the way of training, a detailed setup and use of Eve Eye for a noncombative player (no guns, missiles, combat drones). I basically want to learn to research where relatively safe places for my Effugere player to explore. ("Run Away" in latin) 👍✌🖖🥃I'm well versed in safe spot creation.
I don’t have omega accounts anymore, just a bunch of alphas that are seeded in systems that I like to hang out in. a few in a wormhole, a few in nullsec, and a few in low/high. I’m considering making an attempt at Pochvin, but I don’t know anything about the region
Nice! Good luck at exploring Pochven! It has a lot of special properties you’ll probably enjoy, just like wormholes.
just made my first ever account with ur link x
Awesome! Enjoy and good luck with the tutorials! If you get stuck, check out EVE University!
Sub, thumbs up, comment contribution, and a sincere thank you for the video.
This is fun to watch
Thanks! Have you been making any new characters?
when alpha first came out there was no sp limit though it was half speed,,, so somehow logging back into my main I have 28,000,000 Skill points as an Alpha,,, if I take that char. to Omega, and then go back to Alpha, do you think I'll loose those extra 8mil??
You won’t lose them you’ll just not be able to use the omega skills if you return to alpha
Love you too!
great video man i love u too :)
Hay ewe! Great video
Did this work in the end haha?
I’d say yes! Check my most recent video, I had tons of banked SP left over once I filled up all my Alpha skills.
Hello if you begin an account could we have your 1 million skill point and have another day another 1 million skill from another RUclipsr ?
You can only become a “recruit” once per account. So out of your three character slots, only one can get the 1M skill point bonus.
So I’m pretty sure the answer to your question is no 🤷🏻♀️
I started a new Alpha and swore not to buy anything with real world dollars and not to gift anything to the character from an Omega account. I did use a referral code for training points.
One thing I didn't think of was buying skill training books! Not a fan of the Null Sec blocks. Their management is made up of the kind of people that made me leave facebook... I could write a book about their arrested adolescent control of Discord. But I digress. I was aware that one of the Null Sec. blocks provides a shuttle with a cargo bay full of training books AND a fleet of noob ships.
Injected all but the Omega books (which I'll sell in Jita). And I'm in process of transferring the ships to where I'm flying Agent (tutorial) missions that also provide ships as rewards upon completion of the missions. I now have the training books to take the character to the max Alpha skill points and beyond. And it cost me nothing. Eventually I'll leave the corp. I have no use for them. And besides I already have an Omega Spai in the corporation.
Haha well, that’s EVE!
@@EVEJer Well to be honest, it was too easy. I might stay until their 10% tax pays off the books and ships. 😎
