People (including the man himself) say David Moyes deserved more time. Bullshit. You end up so far off the pace that you're basically talking about getting beaten by Man City and Liverpool as a guarantee, and you know you've fucked up. Especially when Ferguson won the league with the same team (without Maroune Fellaini!) ! David Moyes said it himself within a month of arriving: it was bigger than he expected and he felt overwhelmed. Right away I thought that was a really bad sign. Then Johnny Evans comes out publicly and says the players are lacking confidence and need a lift from somewhere. In late October! Desperately making a plea to the manager to motivate them, that's how early the confidence had gone. It took him only a couple of months to decimate a title-winning side. He lost the players, kept losing games they were winning, looked and sounded like a beaten man, his vision seemed to be one that constantly only ever looked towards his own fingernails. As he clung desperately to the side of the cliff. He lacked any true vision for what Man United could achieve, even with all the history showing what they already HAVE been able to achieve. I like David Moyes. But he just wasn't right for Man United. He said the wrong things, did the wrong things, set the most negative records, and in the end, lost far too many games softly. I'm not saying Van Gaal will be amazing for United, but let's be honest, what Moyes left him is a hell of a lot worse than what Ferguson left Moyes. Stick to managing small-mentality teams David, you're a genius at that. Stay well away from the top jobs please.
He doesnt need to be sacked. If we get rid of him now then we will just end up going through like another 2 managers that will get sacked again. Probably a couple of van gaals or mourinhos. Then that will lead to having to sign someone who the fans love, a solskjaer maybe. do you get my point?
Fellani was Moyes’ only signing and he was actually brilliant; Very underrated and under appreciated. Moyes didn’t have an amazing time but every single manager has struggled since Sir Alex left, they should have stuck with him for at least two season (I don’t think Van Gaal’s or Mourinho’s records are much better and they had more time and money).
He's just rescued West Ham from relegation and has them competing for Champions league football - all in 18 months. Imagine if Man Utd had given him 18 months instead of half that - the owners capitulated to pressure from ignorant supporters that thought success was their right just because they had had one of the best managers in history for the previous 25 years.
Souness is wrong about attracting players.Liverpool are one of those clubs people tout as being "Special" yet if they went head to head with a club in the CL for a player they would lose out. That'll change this summer though because they will have CL football.
Torres scored 15 in 40 apps the season before his Liverpool move, spending over 20 million on him in 2007 was a massive risk. And for Suarez, there weren't that many clubs looking to sign him,he was known as a loose cannon and coming from the Eridivise, you never know if the talent would cross over well to the Premiership. If Liverpool tried to sign a Hazard when Chelsea bought him, they wouldnt have got close.
It had been a long time since Liverpool competed for the league though and they also havent had the spending power of United. Yeah if someone like Real and Bayern come in we wont have a chance but City managed to get players like Yaya, Silva, Aguero so you can still buy good players.
LukeNuke98 Scousers can sort themselves out using the League Trophy as a mirror, that charity shield would be better though, that amazing mickey mouse cup is perfect for a mirror.
Know a guy who sees Paul Scholes on a regular basis who overheard a conversation he was having about United. Apparently scholes hasn't been near the place because of david moyes, and he also said david didnt know what he was doing.
David Moyes is simply not good enough to be Manchester United manager. He may have a tough team to be dealing with but the shit that's happening at that club is just not acceptable for a team like United. Being guaranteed to finish the season with our lowest ever points tally, with 7 games left to play, is just not acceptable. Our team may not be its best but its not that bad. And to those who say its up to the players to play well, whos job is it to rally those players. A manager gets payed to inspire his players and, if he cant do it, hire a member of staff who can like a decent coach. David Moyes has broken too many unwanted records and I don't think the fans will take much more of it.
The biggest mistake was getting rid of the original coaching staff. I'm not sure I agree Moyes needs to be sacked as that would split the club even more (especially as a club that doesn't follow that ideology of sacking). Sure he's had an awful season with a team that should be contending for top 4 but sometimes you have to blame the footballers. I know it's his job to rally them but at the end of the day they are professionals that should be eager week in week out, especially with pay bonuses I'm sure! I'd like to see him be given 2 more seasons. I know some would argue that's too much time, but he may well make the job his own before that time is up; I know Moyes has been in the business for years but stepping into Fergie's boots is no easy task! Needs to settle and get to know his players (but maybe be given a transfer lesson in not buying the likes of Fellaini) :P
I don't want Moyes to be sacked because I think it would make us end up like how chelsea were. Going through 9 managers in 10 years. I also don't think there are many, if any, that can do a better job than he can. I just wish he didnt make some of the mistakes he is making.
I've got nothing to say other than totally agree with the both of you, i lied i do have something to say - the banner from the aeroplane stunt that came above Old Trafford on Saturday, IMO that has to go down has the most embarrassing protest stunt ever, i mean for 1. if your going to protest then do it outside OLD TRAFFORD not fly a plane other with a banner lol, secondly they could of bought a season ticket nevertheless they did it and it's throwed a little shadow over MUFC as an Embarrassment.
Definitely! We all get generalised as it is for being glory hunters even though most of us aren't. It's just a minority that let us down and stand out. As a club we are actually due somewhat of a 'blip' in our form and quality as every team has this. We are entitled to not have the best team 24/7 as even I would say the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and City all have better squads than us. It's a good example of if you can't support us at our worst, don't then support us at our best. True support is sticking behind Moyes. United is a club built on patience; think of the Munich air crash and how long it took us to recover; look at Fergie's first few years sitting in the shadow of Liverpool. We've been in dark times before and have always recovered.
Paul Scholes is right, for me he is one of the players that could become a good manager, he may not sound the smartest but he definitly knows his shit.
A few of the older manutd fans will remember everton legend kevin sheedy who manages the youth team. And this is what he said when moyes left: 1:) Moyes was never interested in the youth team 2:) He played for draws a lot. I rest my case...
There is no any drawbeg of David Moyes. Players dont give every thing what they can..players need to concentrate more on attacking game, they are even not able take the ball to the box inside.
Moyes should have paid attention to this. Notice how scholes so we're all the time despite being on live tv and facing criticism from loads of people as nobody is like that on tv. Moyes only ever referred to us a manchester united. Didn't set his mark on the club.
Action speaks louder than words and you can see on Scholes's face that he wanted to say "David Moyes is fucking shit, iv heard from the lads that his training is poor, he couldn't motivate a piss up in a free bar pub and he will be gone this time nexy yr." The reason why Scholes doesn't do many interviews because he is not want to hold back his tongue and he clearly can't be arsed with playing it nice for the camera and all the celebrity bullshit that comes along with the footy. His face says it all what he thinks but obviously he has to show positivity to the world and for man utds sake.
Man Utd made a mistake not sticking with Moyes, he was the closest fit to a long term type manager in the Ferguson mould. Alex Ferguson was a long term project. And Man Utd were a long term project
He is spot on with his England views/is G johnson the best english r/b/? what abt Richards at M city/ should Lampard have got the nod over Carrick?will Rooney perform and if not will he change it/why was Defoe left out/most would be suprised if England actually got it right 4 once.I dont agree that Wilshere has stagnated but it is time he added to his game and kicked on to that special level he is capable of reaching.
Moyes only got the job due to being Scottish in my opinion. Not too sure who else would agree but I’ve always felt if it wasn’t for being Scottish there would be no insight for SAF to give Moyes the job...
wankfanny I think there was more to it than that. Alex Ferguson and David Moyes played for the same boys club- Drumchapel United- a few decades apart, they are both from Glasgow, both came up supporting and playing for Old Firm teams, and came up as managers by achieving difficult things against bigger teams with nothing approaching the same budget. I think Alex saw a consistent, younger version of himself that had payed his dues and deserved a shot at the big time.
My best mate is Scottish too but he never got the job. It's nonsense to say Moyes only got the job due to being Scottish and whilst it wasn't exactly a disadvantage for him, he got it because he was Ferguson's choice but several things played a part in that, other than just where he was born.
He was the obvious choice at that time, completely irrelevant that he was Scottish! He was the best choice but it didn’t work out. Would you say the same if he was German or Spanish ? Silly ignorant comment to be honest!
Or Nessie. Or Christophe Lambert, in Highlander. Or Mel Gibson. I'm still surprised Manchester United, a club with an annual turnover in excess of half a billion pounds, didn't appoint Mrs Doubtfire, because she sounds a bit Scottish.
Going to be very interesting in the summer when players leave and i'll bet a fair few stick the boot in and tell everyone what really has gone wrong (See Hernandez reaction at the weekend). There's obviously massive stuff going on behind the scenes as a team like ours doesn't go from 1st to 7th in just one season (transition is such a poor excuse).
this will be along term problem for United.... before worrying about the top 4 they have to actually worry more about beating teams who just about overcome relegation every season
Can see Scholes being a cracking pundit. You can tell he's a bit new to it, stumbles on one or two words, isn't hugely confident in front of the camera, but talks sense, doesn't pull punches, and he's a figure every sane football the world over respects.
Thank fuck they sacked Moyes. He was never a winner, could never have made it as a continental manager. LVG on the other hand, well he has the experience and is a top coach. Everyone who has worked with LVG praise him highly.
"I think we've played a very good side and it's the sort of standard and level we need to try and aspire to get ourselves to at this moment of time."I think the true and real MANCHESTER UNITED fans should start to step up and boo this clown .He belongs to mid table clubs. #MUTID
I must admit that even though I back Moyes (for now)...that comment went straight to the bone, as a die hard red of 40 + years I've NEVER heard a statement like that come out of a United managers mouth,he needs reminding what club he is managing at times methinks.
Too many clubs sack managers too easily. Moyes is a good manager but needs time to move the team his own way. Personally though I do think he needs to play Kagawa more often. Who got the corner which led to the Bayern goal, laid on league goals in the following two games against Villa and Newcastle ? Kagawa will shine in the World Cup for Japan and United fans will probably ask why he didn't do that for United - Well he's not played often enough. Moyes will succeed over time.
there is no such thing as 'not a sacking club' - United werent a sacking club over the last 28 years because they never had to be - Liverpool were not a sacking club during the 1970's and 1980's but yet went though 4 managers between 2009 and 2012 - utter nonsense
Paul Scholes Got it in one.. United/Fergie had been looking for CM's for years and havent got any. Had Carrick not had such an amazing season last campaign the lack of midfielders wouldn't of been so well hidden. But people forget that and are quick to blame moyes. Take away Carrick and RVP through injury at the start of the season and play cleverly and Jones cm.. And what do u think is gna happen. Things will go to shit. I'll properly judge moyes after he has some decent cm's to play for him.
i don't know what scholes was more upset about, losing 3 nil to city or having to wear a suit

I don’t know about brilliant he was a slightly better mctominay
Van gaal and mourinho were a lot better than Moyes
No need for the revisionism
Van Gaal at least managed to win an FA Cup, and Mourinho a Europa League and League Cup. Moyes isn't big enough to manage a club the size of United.
Very eloquently put by Scholes.
Souness blames Pogba for him getting sacked
Lol
Moyes is the best thing to ever happen to the Prem league.. hahahab
@@JohninRosc Can you explain what are we both doing here? 👀
@@sparkling.water. I've been asking myself that for years.
@@JohninRosc and then Hammers lost today.
I think their UCL prospects are over isn't it?
Souness is wrong about attracting players.Liverpool are one of those clubs people tout as being "Special" yet if they went head to head with a club in the CL for a player they would lose out. That'll change this summer though because they will have CL football.
but they managed to attract top players like suarez and torres . and at the time they were both top class players before they signed for them .
Robert Lock we were in the champions league when we bought torres.
can u name any player than club loving gerrard who would choose liverpool over man u without ucl.
Shame Pogba left, what a top player he is.
Ferguson's biggest mistake at Man Utd.
Fuze Fergusons biggest mistake was not signing Bale ! He had the oportunity to sign him but said he was too expensive so then Tottenham Signed him
they . bought him again lul
seankinsellasean You must have been the happiest person last year
He's been pretty average recently, united need to change manager
This should be on sky sports retro
"United are not a sacking club."
Lol, how did that work out?
It worked out well I would say we can win a match now
Quite the decision tbh.
when you have a clown like moyes, you must not think twice before the sack
+DJharj123 You know what the clown did in Sydney/Australia. He took MU for a run in Bondi Beach unprotected.
Scholes looks genuinely heart broken on this.
That's just how Scholesy always looks I think :-P
Loving the sad face of Scholes. Hahaha! I hope the Glazers will give Moyes a life time contract. YNWA!
Could be worse, he could look like a scouser.
LukeNuke98
Scousers can sort themselves out using the League Trophy as a mirror, that charity shield would be better though, that amazing mickey mouse cup is perfect for a mirror.
Captain Shite Stain
and for 24 years the scousers is not using a League mirror, bahahaha!!
Joe Zetetic
Nor will Man UTD for the next 30 :P
did you see gerrard's face today after he slipped?
you can see it hurt souness so much to admit united are basically the best club in england
Scholes United legend end of.... cracking player
Know a guy who sees Paul Scholes on a regular basis who overheard a conversation he was having about United. Apparently scholes hasn't been near the place because of david moyes, and he also said david didnt know what he was doing.
Gotta love Chris at the end
Those fucking stats at the bottom of the screen when Scholes first starts talking Holy Fuck.
Oh how we need a paul scholes #MOYESOUT
i want the management of ManU keep moyes as long as possible with him Man U will lose
and other teams will win thats what want doing great so far ^^
Agreed!
Correct Souness . UTD are unique even in pain. A Scouser even knows that UTD could still attract in the 70s and 80s
United attracted rubbish in the 70s and 80s. They had players that would never have made Liverpools reserves.
United attracted rubbish in the 70s and 80s. They had players that would never have made Liverpools reserves.2
Everything Souness said was spot on
Scholes should be a coach for united
How did this work out?
A lots of people think we're fine apart from CM and defence yet we look completely toothless everytime we play a team above 10th position.
Exactly
@@Ruzz_. still relevant??
@@LemmyTheCarpenter yes it’s worse than ever. Danny Welbeck back then was better than Rashford and cleverly was better than mctominay
Watching this in 2020. Many of the comments still relevant.
Scholesy
United shown their true colours
Souness comment has sadly aged like fine wine.
Paul Scholes is right, for me he is one of the players that could become a good manager, he may not sound the smartest but he definitly knows his shit.
lol, notice how he didn't mention Kagawa when he was talking about quality attackers.
i could watch this sooo many times....egg in your face lads
A few of the older manutd fans will remember everton legend kevin sheedy who manages the youth team. And this is what he said when moyes left: 1:) Moyes was never interested in the youth team 2:) He played for draws a lot.
I rest my case...
Well obv scholes wouldn't come on tv saying moyes out
I love how Scholes absolutely hates social situations. He reminds me of a weird little Edward Scissorhands / Sooty hybrid.
Moyes asked vidic to learn from Phil Jageilga and he didn’t play Kagawa . This guy was out of his depth
There is no any drawbeg of David Moyes. Players dont give every thing what they can..players need to concentrate more on attacking game, they are even not able take the ball to the box inside.
I agree with Scholes.United will need a LB,1 or 2 CB,playmaker and a winger.Lots of players must leave also.
i wish moyes stayed so utd would stay shit, i want them to do a leeds
Never that mate keep dreaming
Francis Artanis Yes.. Envious of 7th.

upload what Paul had to say about Arsenal
I live in USA for almost 5 years, I'm able to communicate in English without any problem but I cannot understand a word Scholsey said :P
Moyes should have paid attention to this. Notice how scholes so we're all the time despite being on live tv and facing criticism from loads of people as nobody is like that on tv. Moyes only ever referred to us a manchester united. Didn't set his mark on the club.
Kevin, you may in fact be correct about the players, but If Moyes couldn't get the players to play for him, then why keep him?
***** Would players perform this badly with Sir Alex still in?
***** Totally agree.
When rooney decided not to play supporting role for van persie. That was the actual start of the down fall
Moyes is class. Fergie knew team was crap.
Thats why he got the PL title with them you moron.
Fergie won the title by 11 points with the same players less Mata and Fellaini. Really crap that was.
kenny larmour Moyes is class? Really?? 😂😂😂😂😩
Scholes and souness knew the writing was on the wall. It was over. No more domination no more winning. Oles at the wheel
Now he has been sacked
david moyes is paul scholes dad
Action speaks louder than words and you can see on Scholes's face that he wanted to say "David Moyes is fucking shit, iv heard from the lads that his training is poor, he couldn't motivate a piss up in a free bar pub and he will be gone this time nexy yr." The reason why Scholes doesn't do many interviews because he is not want to hold back his tongue and he clearly can't be arsed with playing it nice for the camera and all the celebrity bullshit that comes along with the footy. His face says it all what he thinks but obviously he has to show positivity to the world and for man utds sake.
Look at moyes now
Poor Scholes, HATES the cameras still haha
Man Utd made a mistake not sticking with Moyes, he was the closest fit to a long term type manager in the Ferguson mould. Alex Ferguson was a long term project. And Man Utd were a long term project
Paul Schools didn't finish his GCSE
He is spot on with his England views/is G johnson the best english r/b/? what abt Richards at M city/ should Lampard have got the nod over Carrick?will Rooney perform and if not will he change it/why was Defoe left out/most would be suprised if England actually got it right 4 once.I dont agree that Wilshere has stagnated but it is time he added to his game and kicked on to that special level he is capable of reaching.
Moyes only got the job due to being Scottish in my opinion. Not too sure who else would agree but I’ve always felt if it wasn’t for being Scottish there would be no insight for SAF to give Moyes the job...
wankfanny
I think there was more to it than that.
It was either him or Billy Connolly. Or big Sean. Or maybe David Tennant. Quite a tricky choice, when you get down to it.
Or Nessie. Or Christophe Lambert, in Highlander. Or Mel Gibson. I'm still surprised Manchester United, a club with an annual turnover in excess of half a billion pounds, didn't appoint Mrs Doubtfire, because she sounds a bit Scottish.
Where are all the comments?
Going to be very interesting in the summer when players leave and i'll bet a fair few stick the boot in and tell everyone what really has gone wrong (See Hernandez reaction at the weekend). There's obviously massive stuff going on behind the scenes as a team like ours doesn't go from 1st to 7th in just one season (transition is such a poor excuse).
You might’ve been on to something
Anyone else feel like Paul Scholes was trying so hard to keep down what he really wanted to say about David Moyes?
@Burnside
I assume you are a scouser and I am sure you are looking forward to your team losing out on goal difference next week! Divine justice.
This comment dated quite a lot atm
5 years b4 feegie retired there was talk about who was gunna replace him and for me martin o'neil would have been perfect.
this will be along term problem for United.... before worrying about the top 4 they have to actually worry more about beating teams who just about overcome relegation every season
Scholes mis-judged that .... bit like his slide tackles.
That's a bit harsh... like his slide tackles
or..he took advantage of everyome thinling they were mistimed??
Can see Scholes being a cracking pundit. You can tell he's a bit new to it, stumbles on one or two words, isn't hugely confident in front of the camera, but talks sense, doesn't pull punches, and he's a figure every sane football the world over respects.
Loooool
Paul Scholes would have been man united best player if he was on the pitch today.
Even at his age.
He still is to this day
Gosh even now the comment is relevant after 7 years 😳
Thank fuck they sacked Moyes.
Paul Scholes tore into Arsenal but here is treating Man Utd with kid gloves - it's a bit embarrassing really.
there is no such thing as 'not a sacking club' - United werent a sacking club over the last 28 years because they never had to be - Liverpool were not a sacking club during the 1970's and 1980's but yet went though 4 managers between 2009 and 2012 - utter nonsense
put Paul Scholes on sky sports
Paul Scholes Got it in one.. United/Fergie had been looking for CM's for years and havent got any. Had Carrick not had such an amazing season last campaign the lack of midfielders wouldn't of been so well hidden. But people forget that and are quick to blame moyes. Take away Carrick and RVP through injury at the start of the season and play cleverly and Jones cm.. And what do u think is gna happen. Things will go to shit.
I'll properly judge moyes after he has some decent cm's to play for him.
