It's not really dubstep anymore. Would say IDM/Electro/Experimental. If you like it definetly check them out and take a look at Ekcle as well. Maybe Scope and Copycat as well but that's already more different.
I just call it "Bass" umbrella term.

Edit: Okay, ONE of the greatest. I should have stated that originally. There are other amazing artist out there I think are some of the greats as well. KOAN Sound still kills it, though.

I used to be obsessed with zeds dead but tbh haven't liked any of their releases since their broken bells remix 6 years ago.. So I'd disagree, Noisia on the other hand have consistently pushed boundaries and done really well so I'd say them 100% 👍.

I really wonder how long koan sound spends on each track or remix they do. Their stuff is so layered, so textured, I just imagine them spending 1 hour on 15 seconds of the track.

The drops are simply out of this world. This is my second favourite remix of Koan, just after The A Team.
I haven't listened to dubstep since excision and skrillex back in early 2010s and all I can say is I'm glad the genre is going strong! Nice tune!!
You should definitely check out their album "Polychrome." Its filled with bunch of stuff like this!
Polychrome was my album of the year when it came out. Champagne sound design. I was on the first track for about 3 weeks before I moved on to track 2. And chilli daddy was my song of the year
