Ryan's interrogation was the first interrogation I ever have watched that made me cry... Not only did he lose his girlfriend, his lover... he was shot, lived, and was mocked and mistreated by the cops for them to hold hostage a dying survivor of such a horrific incident. The loss of his lover to violent circumstances is soul-crushing for viewers like me, but to see him suffer that much more is just- I don't even know. I've never been even as far as the drunk tank. I watch a lot of that "60 days" show, in no way am I saying I get the life. What I am saying is, One thing I always notice is that COs don't break up fights or helpt the inmates when they should/can prevent a lot of the stuff from happening. Not even for a major network camera crew, so I can only imagine how they suffer when it's just them and no cameras. From an outside perspective, prison itself is far worse than any sentence. I empathize for prisoners the most in regards to all people involved in the prison system, it's f*cked up.

I’d maybe get it if he was claiming blunt force trauma injury, because there might be no physical evidence on the body, but Ryan clearly had a gunshot wound, it doesn’t matter how many dumb kids you’ve dealt with, a gunshot wound is a gunshot wound, if a cop can’t see that, then they’re clearly lacking in observational skills, which cops NEED

Further information about Ryan's case that only makes one's blood boil. - Ryan suffered seizures and complications, eventually dieing as result in 2016.
Ryan's father tried to sue for $15 million that the Sanfranciso police department failed to give his son medical treatment for 6-8 hours after the incident.
The lawsuit was dismissed by the city of Pheonix, which has led into beliefs and allegations of concerted corruption by city attorneys, police officrs and detectives.
There was discovery of tampering of evidence, falsifying of information and misconduct by the department, in particular the interogator.
To this day the Ryan's family are hoping to reopen this case, spread awareness, expose corruption and seek justice.

    • @aarovar1357
      @aarovar1357 Год назад +14

Nah, manslaughter would be causing unintentional death AND is necessary to be the one who caused the injury that resulted in death. This AT most would be gross negligence, which is more serious than a simple act of carelessness, but this here to be honest, would almost be guaranteed “Resulting death due to negligence”, simply because these cops are used to being lied to by suspects who will say anything to get out of interrogations, but once realization of his condition set in, the cop changed his course of action to address his condition. The cop in the interview had to believe that the suspect had to have had proper medical assessment AHEAD of the interview which is what they should of done and usually do, this is why this cop couldn’t believe it at first, because suspects EVEN if they don’t look hurt, will be seen by medical and assess vitals and injuries if there is any indication the body suffered damage. Who ever is in charge in overseeing and enforcing policy is MORE responsible for his death than the officer in the room who had believed the guy had already been checked out by medical staff. This is why normal people like you, or even myself aren’t judges, and don’t decide the fate of others with charges, because you make judgments based off emotions and don’t care to investigate further or try to understand other possibilities. You see a short video and seal their fate. That right there just goes to show IF you had the power, you would also ruin lives due to negligence, and then would justify it when it is in fact unjust. To be fair, I still agree the cop is so dense. Dude couldn’t think straight with a bullet in his head, so he could not dedicate the right names to the right people, and could not dedicate the right names of weapons used, he had to remember things while his brain was damaged and swelling with infection. He wasn’t even sure if was in shot but couldn’t think of any other reason his head and eye was damaged this way, I get it. It stirs understandable emotion, HOWEVER, no matter what media and people say, interrogations are not deadly, don’t cause death, talking to someone just doesn’t do that, and it’s not torture either. The cop unfortunately was just very SLOW to picking up on signs of Ryans condition. It’s not everyday you talk to people freshly shot in the head. Ryan was discovered with injuries and should have had medical clearance before even talking to that guy in the room.

I'm a former Speech Therapist and have met *several* people over the years who had survived gunshots to the head, either from attack or self inflicted. One, that I helped treat, had tried to kill himself by gun to temple, and ended up taking off a very large part of his head, and still survived. After initial surgery, the man literally had half his brain removed, it was a bit jarring to see him initially as he literally had a huge chunk of his head just gone. And he lived, and could talk, not very focused, but that's one of the things we addressed. Honestly, I cannot believe any cop would not realize people can and do survive gunshots to the head. I'm honestly not surprised this guy is able to talk, but you can easily, EASILY, see that as it goes on his having a harder time answering questions and his speech is slowing a lot and sounds are running together. If the vid isn't flipped, that guy got nailed I the left side of frontal lobe, and I've not finished vid yet so I don't know how far bullets went, but frontal lobe is heavy for cognitive abilities, and left side is the language/speech dominant side. He probably is able to understand he's supposed to provide an answer of some sort, but that's not evidence he's answering anything accurately. I hope that cop got suspended and either retrained or just fired. Part of me hopes he beat himself up over his error enough that he'd never make that error again and train others to be watchful. Regardless, injury should lead to hospital or EMT before interrogations to make sure person is medically cleared. I mean, shit, this kid coulda said he killed his gf but he likely had not clue what he was saying. If he'd lived and been put on trial, any lawyer coulda gotten it tossed. It's just stupid, sloppy, awful, sad, and tragic. I feel sick.

The entire Phoenix PD are still being investigated over Ryan's case as well as many other where misconduct has been an issue. Including the PPD trying to lie about when Ryan was shot by 2 entire days in order to pass the blame off them to the officers breaking Ryan's jaw when taking him into custody because he just stood on the porch asking what's going on over and over and never getting him any kind of medical treatment. Funny enough though the asshole that shot Ryan tried to run from police and was taken to the hospital for a dog bite from a K-9. Interrogations of Torey and the other freak are just amazing. Detectives made a tremendous job and the interrogation Detective uses his words skillfully, with the perfect tone. Great job. Two very smart kids, but not smart enough when you face professionals.

This is disgusting, what they did to Ryan. They are required to call an ambulance and give medical attention first and foremost. No matter what happened or who it is. I'm guessing this incident was decades ago before they changed policy. Hope the detective and the whole department paid dearly for this crime against Ryan.

After researching Paul Dalton didn’t receive three years and now is retired and receiving a pension. I watched the entire video of Ryan and it is the saddest thing I could hardly watch to know how much pain he was in and denied medical attention for over a hour and even the doctor stated his brain infection was from the amount of time medical help was denied. Losing vision in his eye. Losing half his brain having seizures and he eventually took his life. To be told he wasn’t shot by this detective when you clearly saw injury’s and should have been taken to the hospital and cleared before ever being questioned. Ryan telling this officer his head hurt and he was in pain. To tell him he wouldn’t be speaking if he was shot! I wonder how this retired officer sleeps at night.

@KumaBean if that's true those cops are idiots lol I've seen people go to extreme lengths to get away from cops. Jumping from a window is nothing. I did that when I was 15.
I was just young & really naive.. I would kick it with guys in their 20s. I believed them when they'd say I was "really mature for my age".. now that I'm 27, I realize they're all creeps who were full of it.
Anyway.. my friend & I would go kick it with these guys that were in college. They lived in student housing & all shared an apartment that was on the 2nd floor.
We would smoke pot every time we went over there.
The last time we ever hung out there, we spent the whole night smoking & just being hoodlums.
My friend & I were in one of the back rooms when there was a knock on the door. We hear a female & male talking aggressively, saying they're the apartments managers, then something about complaints & the police had been called, so no one was allowed to leave.
We both threw our sh*t in our bags, closed & locked the door, then jumped out the window & ran.
I don't think either of us cared how high up we were at the time, we just grabbed our stuff & bounced.
Once we knew we were safe & the adrenaline stopped pumping, I realized my arm hurt. It was all scratched up & bleeding from my armpit to my elbow. I must have scraped it on the stucco when I let go of the window pane.
Not sure what happened to those guys, we never heard from them again. I felt bad for leaving them behind but they were already screwed haha
