I ran into a lot of issues with Book of Shadows. It's got a lot of interesting features though, and will be a must have mod imo in an update or two. (It doesn't play well with beast races, has some behavioural issues, overall it caused a lot of disruptions tbh)
True directional movement is actually a personal taste especially in skyrim where the gameplay is built around a center screen view. TDM really doesn't look as impressive when you fight an npc and miss the target area or when npcs fight you and they hit from two feet to the side of you. I prefer using customizable camera as it keeps the gameplay intact while complimenting the games combat. Some games have their own style and both systems depend on the built in gameplay. Dark souls have their style and bethesda have their own feel. If you know bethesda youll know they have a different way of how combat is done. I only say this because of how silly new DAR combat mods have become that they completely make skyrim not what it is when players perform a super jrp combo on a draugr or bandit.
Yeah, sadly the mods little revolution caused 99% of people to desperately try changing he game into something it wasnt made for. They all just try to copy dark souls/elden ring combat, feeling, graphics, animations, etc, at all cost. Idk why. Imo its not cool at all. But tbh im not a fan of tpp games, id rather have the only true fpp open world fantasy rpg to stay that way. If i want to play dark souls, i play dark souls. Such shame almost noone is creating fpp mods anymore.
I'm gonna quote Skyking (Skyland mod series) Paraphrased: "Throwing in hundreds of mods like it's a badge of honor is just not necessary". It just makes it inherently unstable, been modding it since 2019 (over and over and over ... etc.) ... then Todd's CC hack updates that literally BREAK all your modding and you have to rebuild it yet again. Just sayin' ... sometimes less is more.

I wish there was more cross-compatibility between SE and LE mods. I'd really like to try certain mods only to find out they're only for SE. I've considered switching from LE to SE, but I'm so entrenched in my LE setup, migrating would be a weeks-long process of tracking down mods, converting the ones I've made myself, and rebuilding merges from scratch. It would be a nightmare. But at least the SE creation kit isn't locked behind the Bethesda launcher anymore.
I have modded and played LE for years after SE came out, Last year I decided to switch and start modding SE. Had to start all over again, but after a year I can say it is worth it. My modded SE looks beter and has beter fps than LE. I shed a tear for the masterpiece I have created.

The bounce isn't technically an animation. It's actual physics. Meaning that they aren't controlled to move but instead react to the rest of the body movement. Early on they had to be animated but it's come a long way since then. Animators no longer *control* that movement, which is really nice.
Me what I would like someone to explain to me is why everyone strives to want to play in third person view when the game is not designed for that. I don't think I've seen a single person playing in FPS view in the ultra-modded let's plays I've seen.
Because skyrim's 1st person sucks. There are some mods that will change up/improve attack and casting animations, but the lack of body (just hands) when you look down is distracting and immediately breaks any immersion you had. Only two mods exist to show the body in 1st person. One doesn't work on the newest version (1.6.640) and the other is 6+ years old and is super buggy.
I spent 9 hours trying to reinstall Skyrim 1.5.97 and I still can't get it to work properly. I started by installing the SSE Patch, SKSE64, Library, Unofficial Patch. Then I installed my 1st mod: SkyUI. Once in the game I no longer have access to the menu. The W-A-S-D keys no longer work. My character doesn't move. I give up.
How do you install it? Are you using a modorganizer? I would suggest MO2. I would suggest deleting every instance of Skyrim from your computer, reinstalling and then following the tutorials from GamerPoets to install ModOrganizer2 and learn how it works, they are great teacher, fun and chill, they mike any worry fly away while you follow step by step.

I just started playing Skyrim and my friend told me you could get mods for Xbox One (he got the marriage mod) and after playing for a few days, I realized that I kinda need to be able to kill kids. Like my second day, I made sigrids and alvors ( I think that's how you spell his name) daughter an orphan. Then a few days later, I killed the verbally abusive father in Rorikstead and now both his daughters are orphans and starving ( I play on survival,so I had to steal their food). And keep in mind, I'm only on like the second main quest of the game and I'm not trying to be a monster who creates a bunch of orphans lol. Unfortunately, they seem to have taken down that mod :(

I noticed in your video that when you are unequipping the shield it makes the character placing the shield on your back but end up still holding the shield how to fix that?
Plugin limit is 255 but many mods are now being released as light plugins(esl) where the limit is around 4000. You can even just flag plugins as light ones in xedit as long as they have less than 2048 records.
@@prickelypear9122 Yep, just make sure you backup your game before testing and note that updating mods means replacing plugins and therefore removing all the ones you flagged.
I hate when mods (mostly the scripts) conflict with each other. When two mods proc on the same event and do different things. Can't really be solved by load order and have to be settled with either a patch or by one or both of the authors. Until it gets fixed aaarrggghh!
The use of third person camera really ruined the video for me. Skyrim shines as a first person camera game, and 3rd person greatly detracts from that. I like to think that I’m the dragonborn, and seeing someone else on the screen breaks that immersion. Otherwise , it was a good video.
for me its about keeping the original game intact. Otherwise it won't be skyrim, it would be Assasins creed or Dark souls. I play Bethesdas games for the awesome first person and their style of third person combat.
That’s funny I’m the exact opposite. I guess that’s a testament to the versatility of Skyrim, it really is a game for everyone. I can only play it in third person because first is too janky (kinda makes me sick sometimes) and not cinematic enough. It’s nice to pick up items and what not but other than that I hardly use it. But that doesn’t mean the way I view it is correct, just the best way to play for me. We disagree on the way we play, but agree it’s an amazing game and that’s not really something a lot of games can do.

Such shame, almost noone is creating fpp mods anymore, and imo that's what the game was made for. To make a plausible tpp game, you need to mod almost everything. At that point, id rather just play dark souls.
I guess this makes me a Vanilla+ advocate as I don’t want Skyrim to be like another game. I want mods to make it a better Skyrim. If I want to play a game like Dark Souls, I’ll just play Dark Souls!
@@SelevanRsC but it’s always been a hybrid. It was a never a fps or a tpp it was a game that gave you the choice to play as you wanted to. There’s no “wrong way” to play this game (unless you side with Delphine and kill Paarthurnax…) And the best thing about it. My first play through was tpp unmodded back when it first came out. I had it on Xbox and I loved it. Been playing that way ever sense. Not saying fps is bad it just wasn’t for me.

Quick question, are these mods also available on the skyrim special special edition (the one with built-in mod menu)? I dont have skyrim on the computer so i dont think i can mod the PS4 to put the mods in it.
I love the movement mod but hate the lock on option it has. It takes away all the fun in magic imo. It's really not hard to aim. When you move left or right you just move your mouse accordingly and still hit enemies with ease
Usually graphic overhaul mods are just textures and don’t require any scripts. Gameplay mods are pretty script heavy so don’t go too crazy with them. To manage it all just read the mod description carefully before you install them, and use a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2.
Make sure you check requirements and have compatible version of Skyrim SE/AE. As for me - playing on heavily moded Skyrim 1.6.640 and it work perfectly well.
Comment 1) i hardly ever use spells, tbh. I only ever use healing spells, clairvoyance if I'm lost, and the bound sword spell if i have it. otherwise, i just use normal one-handed swords and the bow for ranged attacks. i am pretty good with the bow in skyrim, ngl. Comment 2) I have one question. how the hell would armor have jiggle physics? i wish there was one that removed the jiggles when wearing the breastplate, but had it when wearing normal clothes like the dresses or peasant garb. Comment 3) jumping while sprinting, directional movement, player appearing while staring at the inventory menu all seem nice. Comment 4) Book of Shadows is a must for a Batman-inspired character. Works even better for a character based on the League of Shadows in Arrow, considering the cloth-mask positioned over the mouth. There used to be a craftable black leather armor mod that involved a leather hood which even had a mask, and I used that for a Malcolm Merlyn-inspired character once. Unfortunately, the mod has since vanished from existence. Really wish some Arrow-inspired armor mods would be made. Deathstroke, Green Arrow(all versions of his suit, including the multiverse variants such as Justin Hartley's GA and Nazi Arrow), Mia Queen's GA outfit, all the Black Canaries, White Canary(both versions), etc. They would work so well with Skyrim. The Black Hand could be given the League of Shadows garb, which we would be issued upon joining.

I would say when I only have 6-800 mods on a list I consider it one of my light lists.

I would suggest deleting every instance of Skyrim from your computer, reinstalling and then following the tutorials from GamerPoets to install ModOrganizer2 and learn how it works, they are great teacher, fun and chill, they mike any worry fly away while you follow step by step.

I just started playing Skyrim and my friend told me you could get mods for Xbox One (he got the marriage mod) and after playing for a few days, I realized that I kinda need to be able to kill kids. Like my second day, I made sigrids and alvors ( I think that's how you spell his name) daughter an orphan. Then a few days later, I killed the verbally abusive father in Rorikstead and now both his daughters are orphans and starving ( I play on survival,so I had to steal their food). And keep in mind, I'm only on like the second main quest of the game and I'm not trying to be a monster who creates a bunch of orphans lol.
Unfortunately, they seem to have taken down that mod :(

I noticed in your video that when you are unequipping the shield it makes the character placing the shield on your back but end up still holding the shield how to fix that?

How do you have that many mods? Is there not a plug-in/mod limit?
Plugin limit is 255 but many mods are now being released as light plugins(esl) where the limit is around 4000. You can even just flag plugins as light ones in xedit as long as they have less than 2048 records.

@@prickelypear9122 Yep, just make sure you backup your game before testing and note that updating mods means replacing plugins and therefore removing all the ones you flagged.
I hate when mods (mostly the scripts) conflict with each other. When two mods proc on the same event and do different things. Can't really be solved by load order and have to be settled with either a patch or by one or both of the authors. Until it gets fixed aaarrggghh!
The use of third person camera really ruined the video for me. Skyrim shines as a first person camera game, and 3rd person greatly detracts from that. I like to think that I’m the dragonborn, and seeing someone else on the screen breaks that immersion.
Otherwise , it was a good video.
for me its about keeping the original game intact. Otherwise it won't be skyrim, it would be Assasins creed or Dark souls. I play Bethesdas games for the awesome first person and their style of third person combat.
That’s funny I’m the exact opposite. I guess that’s a testament to the versatility of Skyrim, it really is a game for everyone. I can only play it in third person because first is too janky (kinda makes me sick sometimes) and not cinematic enough. It’s nice to pick up items and what not but other than that I hardly use it. But that doesn’t mean the way I view it is correct, just the best way to play for me. We disagree on the way we play, but agree it’s an amazing game and that’s not really something a lot of games can do.
Well, sadly 99% of people, youtubers and modders desperately try to make Skyrim a tpp game, or rather, a dark souls/elden ring copy.
The trend started with the latest mini revolution in modding. Such shame, almost noone is creating fpp mods anymore, and imo that's what the game was made for.
To make a plausible tpp game, you need to mod almost everything. At that point, id rather just play dark souls.
I guess this makes me a Vanilla+ advocate as I don’t want Skyrim to be like another game. I want mods to make it a better Skyrim.
If I want to play a game like Dark Souls, I’ll just play Dark Souls!
@@SelevanRsC but it’s always been a hybrid. It was a never a fps or a tpp it was a game that gave you the choice to play as you wanted to. There’s no “wrong way” to play this game (unless you side with Delphine and kill Paarthurnax…) And the best thing about it. My first play through was tpp unmodded back when it first came out. I had it on Xbox and I loved it. Been playing that way ever sense. Not saying fps is bad it just wasn’t for me.

OK, I am back to playing Skyrim. On PS5 and, yes, the Anniversary Edition. I understand that some or maybe most mods don't work on the AE. Am I right, or are there mods that work with it? Would love to add most of these, plus ones that make Skyrim look more amazing. Any help for a new but old Skyrim fan.

How to mod characters? You mean the PC or NPC? For PC I prefer Charmers of the Reach (CotR). Gives a lot more control over the character's appearance.

I love the movement mod but hate the lock on option it has. It takes away all the fun in magic imo. It's really not hard to aim. When you move left or right you just move your mouse accordingly and still hit enemies with ease

New player here- graphics overhual mods can break gameplay overhaul mods? And if the answer is yes how do i manage it all?
Usually graphic overhaul mods are just textures and don’t require any scripts. Gameplay mods are pretty script heavy so don’t go too crazy with them. To manage it all just read the mod description carefully before you install them, and use a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2.

Make sure you check requirements and have compatible version of Skyrim SE/AE. As for me - playing on heavily moded Skyrim 1.6.640 and it work perfectly well.
Comment 1) i hardly ever use spells, tbh. I only ever use healing spells, clairvoyance if I'm lost, and the bound sword spell if i have it. otherwise, i just use normal one-handed swords and the bow for ranged attacks. i am pretty good with the bow in skyrim, ngl.
Comment 2) I have one question. how the hell would armor have jiggle physics? i wish there was one that removed the jiggles when wearing the breastplate, but had it when wearing normal clothes like the dresses or peasant garb.
Comment 3) jumping while sprinting, directional movement, player appearing while staring at the inventory menu all seem nice.
Comment 4) Book of Shadows is a must for a Batman-inspired character. Works even better for a character based on the League of Shadows in Arrow, considering the cloth-mask positioned over the mouth. There used to be a craftable black leather armor mod that involved a leather hood which even had a mask, and I used that for a Malcolm Merlyn-inspired character once. Unfortunately, the mod has since vanished from existence. Really wish some Arrow-inspired armor mods would be made. Deathstroke, Green Arrow(all versions of his suit, including the multiverse variants such as Justin Hartley's GA and Nazi Arrow), Mia Queen's GA outfit, all the Black Canaries, White Canary(both versions), etc. They would work so well with Skyrim. The Black Hand could be given the League of Shadows garb, which we would be issued upon joining.
