Dirt and Blood has effects on gameplay, if your are covered in blood for exemple, intimidation is more effective, and if you are dirty, your speechcraft skills are decreased and the prices gets higher with it

Correction* There is TWO fallen trees in Skyrim (that you can walk on). The first is in Arkngthamz or however tf you spell that, the place where you meet Katria, for the "Lost to the Ages" quest. The second is off in the reach - I don't remember the specific location - and there is a bandit that if you run into will fall off the tree, and die on the rocks in the river below.

Civil war refugees, checkpoint, battlefield, man those borders, and civil war aftermath should have patch for each others and city overhauls such as The Great Series, Holds of Skyrim, and ETaC to move them. This mods added immersion perfectly about civil war. Also make some of them changed after civil war and open civil war compability. Then you have perfect civil war immersion.

You see I've been able to glitch the hood on to the hold guards armor using the jail exploit and or the vampire lord/werewolf transformation exploit. However that's a bit annoying and there are no matching hoods to go with all of the hold guard armors in the standard game.
