I've been waiting for my entire 67-year life to earn enough to get ahead. Unfortunately, my time is nearly up. I live on disability now. After being homeless for 11 years, 4 of which were on the street. I managed to get rental assistance and move into an apartment 11 years ago. I live below the poverty line. I have worked tremendously hard in my life, "played by the rules," but here I am. I pray with all my heart as I leave this planet that that dream finally arrives for all of my beautiful brothers and sisters. That would make me very happy indeed. Thank you, Rep. Jeffries.
