After scoring only 30 points in the first half of ''win or go home'' Game 5, the Sonics caught fire in the second half. In front of crazy home crowd, Payton and company killed the Jazz with 70 second half points -- they won the ball game 100-92. Great display of team defense and transition offense -- Sam Perkins scored 11 points in the 3rd quarter alone, Payton dished the ball to perfection, Kemp and Cage crashed the boards... Unreal performance by great 90's team...
That year, after defeating Hakeem and the Rockets in WCSF (also in elimination Game 7), Sonics were eliminated by Phoenix Suns (Charles Barkley) in WCF, they were only one win away from the NBA finals.
