    I have a question when you strip down the wires to change the adapter do you have to solder or can you use electrical tape or something?

      Technically you don't have to solder, but I'd suggest it on anything that moves like a vehicle. Solder has less electrical resistance and won't rattle loose.

      definitely solder the connections, do not just use tape lol

    On the vevor site they label it as having "indicator light" and "brake light". Seems odd if those are not measuring as 12V.

      I thought so as well, but after reading the instructions, they indicate to use 48v lights. I was using 12v lights so I used a additional converter.

    Can you switch the wire adaptor to any type of addaptor and would it be able to connect to other brand throttles key ignitions etc. Also video was very helpful thanks

      Short answer is yes and no. I've changed connectors when I changed from twist to thumb throttle, but I've run into compatibility issues with other setups. I don't remember off hand which ones didn't work but hopefully someone can chime in and help with the specifics. Cheers

      Well the "door lock" switch is the key in the throttle, that literally just needs to be shorted to be on. So you can use any on/off switch.
      Then the throttle is 3 wires, but there's no telling what resistances it is set to, for example:
      on one motor it can be like 10 to 1000 ohms and another could be 2000 to 4000 ohms it really doesn't matter.
      When you are designing the internal components to read the resistance sent by the throttle you can just say 10 ohms = 10% power OR 1000 ohms = 10% power it doesn't matter at all so the compatibility can be all over the place.
      So to be compatible you need something that is similar range I guess
      They usually are pretty similar so when you buy a separate one it should be "suitable for most" of them

    If the battery is 40 amps could I run it on my 2000w 43 amp rated motor or not? Im purchasing the same exact battery for my kunray 2000w kit and i see u hage the vevor. If so, thank you very much🙏🏾

    Hello Chris. Thanks for your detailed video. :-) Maybe you can help me? I bought the Vevor motor and want to install it in a boat. So that I can set a constant speed, I would like to use a rotary potentiometer or something similar instead of the throttle grip. Are you familiar with this and can you give me a tip as to what I could use? Greetings Livio

      I've used potentiometers in other electric vehicle projects but not with this motor. Check out power tube motor project for example

    Good luck these motors are good at 350 watt at most. If you push over 900w for a few seconds they get very hot i started using it with a vesc cause their controlled sucks.

      Thanks for the insight. The motor or controller hasn't gotten hot in my setup, but something to keep a eye on.

      This one didn't come with the switch, but it's a direct plug in part if you want to limit speed

    im looking to design a custom bike for a specific purpose.. and to use for long travel/camping and need help getting started chosing parts/motors/ displays to model for the cad proposal..
    if you can help . drop me a dm . just some questions and then if you knwo them .. measurements or photos if you have them ( and i cant find that info online)
    in shot a hauler bike that has 2 powered wheels (like a trike) and a flatbed for cargo with room for me and two large dogs up front . . able to charge one battery while riding ( solar?) and use another one or two for range/travel fully loaded..

      A trike sounds like a fun project. I did see that the website emou, I think it's called, basically Chinese amazon, had a solid axle with motor mounted for go karts. That might be worth looking into. If this is your first build, I recommend staying with a kit. Motor, controller, throttle. Less daunting and more plug and play. Then upgrade components later if desired.

      @@chrismakesstuff1 well i need towrque its goign to ahul alot and then i need distance.. so thats teh thing to figure.. im not daunted by wiring .. and such .. i jsut dont understand how to chose the motors and controllers and battery .. the rest i can model and build to concept it. and then figure costs etc.. to get it made
      a portable dog agility / long distance ride for going all over the city or 3 hours drive out of town orso for camping or other agility setusp

      ​@@PaulColeVFXwithout knowing full loaded weight, cargo, rider, vehicle, it's hard to spec. Also, exact distance is hard to figure without knowing expectations. But what I can say from experience is I like to run 48v systems because for the builds I've done its a good compromise of cost and power. If money is no object 72v or more will deliver more performance, but components get significantly more expensive

      @@chrismakesstuff1 think 250lb person 200lbs of dog and the trike frame and motor witghs with battery and some aluminum scaffolding platforsm 1Meter by 1Meter but say 2" thick ibeam style or pipe style with a plywood and carpet top stacked about 1meter high .

      thin plywood as only ahs to support about 150-200 lbs weight for scaffolds ( for dogs)
      ans some extra pipes and lock mechanisms to link it together liek technics

    Sorry to say, but this wasnt a review worth watching, yes it works in free air, but i want to see if it does have 2KW of output, if it overheats, and such stuff, that they tend to lie about in these chinese kits, a simple unboxing is really of no use for anyone who intends to use these.
    The biggest problems with these motors is they have the lowest temperature rated magnets, and under sustained load, the magnets overheats, and loses its magnetic field, killing the motor. Also the power rating are 2-5x more than the motor and driver can handle usually, so if you want to make an actually useful video, test if the rating is closer to 2x, or closer to 5x of the actual capability of the kit.
