      Happy to hear that!

Thank you Dave for another great video! Unfortunately it seems, that the 'Paths' tab under Reference Viewer is only available with AAX (Advanced Assembly Extension). I am posting this info for the others, as there seemed to be a similar question.
Now I also know what to ask for a Christmas present from the company...

For me in reference table evaluate option is disabled, can you let me know, why it is happening and what wrong I did.

Hey Dave, I'm curious why you didn't place the second instance of the brace by just lining up a couple of edge surfaces with the first instance. (As opposed to applying the measured distances.) Great videos, thank you so much.

Well, I made this 15 minute video almost 3 years ago, so I can’t remember a specific action and I don’t have time to rewatch the video. But I can say that edges are generally not as stable as other choices for references. So I’d rather take a few extra clicks now to avoid the potential of me or someone else getting a regeneration failure later.

Couldn’t you have used an assembly mirror?

There are multiple approaches and solutions to a problem but that would not be my choice.

These are all good practices, but it sort of sidestepped the actual circular reference issue.. What if those parts had in fact required a left and right version; maybe there was an additional extrude outward from the center plane of example..
What was the actual cause of the circular reference? was it simply that the left mirrored part was above the original right part in the model tree?

Personally I don't think it sidestepped the circular reference issue because it was a bad design practice - which is the most common cause of circular references. Had I needed separate parts for left and right, my first solution would have been to reorder the parts so that the mirrored part appeared after the source model. If I had come across a situation in which the mirrored part was required, I would have found a different solution.
From my experience at Amazon and Blue Origin, the BOM / MPP issue is actually much more detrimental than the Circular Reference, so I was able to kill two birds with one stone.

Hi. Thank you for nice explanation. but can you please tell me In Creo 4 how to find the path. is it different way in Creo 4?

The tools and techniques have been the same since around Wildfire 3.

One day, in the not too distant future, I will be able to rotate the model in frame while you are working on it. (I hope) If that happens, they can send my check post-haste.

What do you mean? Are you talking about rotating it instead of using the 3D dragger? If so, you have been able to do that forever using the CTRL and ALT keys. I personally prefer the 3D dragger.

@@CADPLMGuy Hi Dave, no, I meant while watching you work and teach on YT, I can grab and rotate the model you are working on right in YT.
I keep wanting to spin your model in the video. Might as well make it so. PS. I know it won't happen ;p
