Great job l as always, very informative. We are upgrading from 4.0 to 10.0 this coming Monday and it's about time 😀.

It's a huge leap and I think you'll be very happy. The UI is so much better, you've got Multibody, and so many enhancements around patterns, holes, sheet metal, etc. I think you'll be amazed. Every once in a while I jump back into Creo 4 and I'm surprised.

In summary, anywhere you place a geometric point (from the datum group in sketch tab) you will get a datum axis when extruding that sketch.
Also, that point act as a datum point outside your sketch for other features. You can see it when the show datum points is activated.
If you want a reference point in your sketch but dont want a axis there, just change it for a construction point. Construction features/items only can be used inside the sketch. Geometric features/items can be used outside the sketch.

Thanks for the summary. I thought this was going to be a 3 minute video but then my mouth got away from me.

thanks for your good ptc video. Is it possible make some video in manufacturing (lathe, milling, multi axis,..) same as a mdeling part. I found some but it was same as modeling. you have a lots of video in modeling but about manufacturing it is not . any way one more thanks for your nice ptc training video. god bless you . 👍🙏🙏🌹🌺

I've actually been thinking about making some manufacturing videos. My biggest issue is that it's been at least a dozen years since I've done any Creo traditional subtractive manufacturing. There have been SO MANY enhancements in that time - really amazing - and I have not kept current.

How do you automatically know the scale when importing a sketch from the palette, or how do you calculate the scale for the palette sketches?

Hold off for a couple weeks and I’ll have a Creo 11 video that shows how the latest version addresses the import scale. If you’re asking how I happened to know in this particular video demonstration, it’s easy. I develop and practice my demo prior to recording it.

Is the creation of an axis via placing datum points within an extruded sketch section new to the latest version of Creo, or has that been a an included feature for previous versions of creo? If so, which version was it implemented with?

I can't believe I've been using creo for 3.5 years now and I'm just now learning about this capability. Up until now, I basically only used the datum sketch points for creating pattern seeds lol. This is going to be game changing

Early Wildfire (2003 to 2005ish) is my recollection for the normal and in-plane axes from sketcher datums.
