    what happened to flashings from the house to draw water from roof and into the new covers gravity to prevent water from sleeping up into the walls and under the roof boards... why you didn't show it.... being done.... did you cut corners instead of buying the actual moulding with built in flashings that that manufacturer sells I'm curious of how you fastened that steel to the to structures to ensure no water seepage catastrophe on next monsoon 🌧️..... thanks for your contribution to yt

    Would you saw cut a hole like (1:30mins) this on existing concrete to make a cinder block column, or could you do it over the concrete? I want to make a column for a (2)6’ gate, on the side of my house.

    • @OdellCompleteConcrete
      @OdellCompleteConcrete  2 года назад +1

      I'm thinking if you use #5 rebar, 4 dowels epoxied into existing concrete per post.
      then split sono tube in half to wrap around post secure sono tube with steel banding and fill with concrete

    • @Garcia_Familia_Adventures
      @Garcia_Familia_Adventures 2 года назад

      @@OdellCompleteConcrete right on! I will then fill the cinder block column with concrete? I could then anchor hinge brackets to the column? Will it be strong enough to hold a 6’ wooden gate?

    I like that patio roof. I think for flashing I would have had some custom made from a metal roofing place. They usually can make about any design of flashing.

      @@OdellCompleteConcrete I hate trying to form rolled flashing. We have a metal roofing manufacturer about 30 miles from here and they have never let me down when I give them a profile to make. They usually come in lengths just over 10’.

    That looks really nice! Sweet! I'd want to resurface though and do something other than that finish. Seems like a decorative concrete that's maybe like a limestone or something would look way neater.

    How did you fasten the standing seam panels to the header? Pops? Screw up and caulk the tip or did you screw down into the seam? And did you also screw into the top of the locking seam with neoprene washers to lock the panels together?

    Steel doesn't rot easy either, yes it will rust if not taken care of with paint but it will carry a 25ft span with 2x6 purlins 5ft on center. Great job as usual.

    Shouldn't you mixed the last inch of concrete with the rocks.. save you from making a mess from dropping the rocks all over the place and tapping
