Great work & explanation, do you have a video explaining how you installed & ran the lights wiring? I'm having difficulty finding a video explaining the roof lights install!
Hey Ishmael, great question. We use recessed LEDs now, because the ones used in this video were discounted. Also the recessed 4 inch HALO LEDs are more water resistant. A little trickier to install, but we have a combo freestanding video uploaded around May last year, that shows how we install them. The easier ones to install would be the flush mount HALO leds 6 inch, you just drill a 2 inch hole into the fan beam, and pull your wires through there.
As far as connecting the lights, we usually run electrical to the hanger, on this patio we pulled from a second story window outlet, then you run electrical to where you switches are, then from the switch to the lights. A simpler way is to run from the existing porch light to power the lights, as the switch is pre-existing. On your hanger you can mark your light locations, and use a clip to hold the electrical line in place. I usually run the electrical lines into the fan beams as I'm building and drill out the 2 inch hole for the lights later, but many installers drill out the holes for the lights on the ground, and run the wire directly into the hole as installing the panel.
There's no real right or wrong way, everyone has a way that works and is easier for them,
Hope this helps, have a great day Ishmael!
@@EverydayPatio wow thank you so much for the great thorough explanation!

Obrigada!!
Love this! Amazing Job AJ!
Thank you!!
Just had a 35×14 slab done but struggling with which patio cover is best, wood or aluminum. I'm in Florida so I need sturdiness, durability, low maintenance. Why did you chose aluminum over wood?
Hello there Sasha, thank you for your comment. We choose to work with Aluminum cover because of its durability, if it’s built right the patio can go over 50years, no worry about the wood the rotten, or termites all those problems woods has. If you would like to know more info on the material feel free to visit our website www.everydaypatio.com
Thank you for your time and hope you have a good day!

Great Job !!! If my patio roof is already installed, how can I install a five blade fan?
I can't find and beams. If I use a small drill bit at the seam I just go thru thin metal. Are you guys in Florida?
Hey Myles, thanks for the comment! If your patio cover is already built, the main way you would pull electrical is by piping it in through the top of the patio cover. You would put a hard metal bracket on top of the patio cover, install the fan bracket through the bottom of the patio, into the top with with self tapping screws, and/or then install thorough bolts. After this step seal the bracket really well, with permanently flexible caulking. And drill a hole in the top of the bracket to run electrical to the fan. Seams aren't usually an ideal spot for electrical, due to potential for water to get in. The most important thing when installing electrical after the build, is making everything water tight.
Hope this helps and good luck with the install, we're in California BTW, but I know there's a factory in Florida,
Best Regards,
Everyday Patio
What size lights do you guys normally use? 4 inch or 6 inch?
Hello Jesse, thanks for the comment. Currently we are using 4 inch LEDs, this can change over time, as new lights are released. This patio cover had 6 inch lights.
Hope this helps,

What kind of light are those the white one
Hello Calvin, the lights in this video are J-Box Halo Leds, they updated them recently though and have a slightly different look. You can use some recessed leds as well, that have the color changing options included for white light as well.
Thanks for the comment and we hope you have a good rest of your day,

@@EverydayPatio thank you so much
What do you need to use to hang the fans?
Hey Matt, you ideally need a fan beam/electrical channel embedded into the insulated roof or a bracket above the roof to support the fan.
Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Everyday Patio
How much to do this patio? What size is it?
Hello there Liz, thank you for your comment. For more information on pricing and sizing please email us at everydaypatio@gmail.com
Thank you!
How much of a pitch for the roof ?
The pitch is site specific. Depends more on your house, than the patio cover. If you have more questions feel free to email us at everydaypatio@gmail.com.

What is the weight the roof panels can hold I see you guys walking on them must be a few hundred pounds also how do you hide the electrical wires through the panels do you have a video on that?
Hey TopDogVic, my brother is a little more well versed in the exact Lbs. Per sq. Ft the roof panels are weighted to hold. It pretty well supports any of our installers and crews on the roof. And can support light weight roof tiles and solar systems if engineered properly. As far as running the electrical inside the patio, you need to have fan beams embedded in the panels, I usually run my main 1-3 lines into the hanger and from there into the rest of the patio cover.
Thanks for the comment and we hope you have a good rest of your day,
Everyday Patio
Do you guys do roof mounts if it’s a single level home and want extra clearing?
Yea, roof mount have become very common for us. It's generally better than attaching to a fascia board.
Thanks for reaching out and we hope you have a great day,
Everyday Patio
How are the wires run in the roof panels?
We run the wires into the electrical channels, embedded in the panels. Other ways include running conduit on top of the cover, but that often leads to leaks in the electrical system, which is why you should always avoid running conduit on the roof of the patio cover.
Thanks you for your time and the comments,
Everyday Patio
How much did this cost?

Hi, great video and install by the way. What type of material is this made of?
Hey Mark, thanks for the kind words. This material is all made by Four Seasons Elitewood product line.

where can i buy this kit?
Hello Andy, you need to be an authroized contractor to sell Four Seasons products. Most patio kits companies are just contractors, buying the material and then upselling it to you. Money that is better spent hiring a proper contractor.
Thank you for your question and I hope you have a good rest of your day,

What is the height (floor to ceiling) of this patio cover? Having a hard time deciding in the 8-9 ft range to have decent shade while still having room for fans.
Good Evening JM, the height of this patio cover started at 9 ft. on the bottom side. Personally I believe the best height for a cover with a fan is around 8 ft. It really depends on the type of house you have to figure out a height that works for you.
Thanks for the comment and feel free to reach out if you have anymore questions,

hmmmm that woman looks extremely familiar to me...
You know her well Jonny...
What brand/name is the light you use for this type of install. Thanks in advance
Hey Victor, we use Halo LED lights for installation for Commericial Electric. They don't sell the model from this video anymore, but they have some update Halo LED J-Box lights that look pretty awesome now. I like the commercial electric recessed lights as well, they all have the color changing option now too.
Thanks for the comment,
Have a great rest of your day,

nice job...how you did run the wires into the aluminum panels?
Hello there Andreas, thank you for your comment. All the panels has electrical channels to run the electrical wires. It's called electrical chase.
Hope you have a good day.
Hi there, awesome video. I have an inslated patio cover and they left a hole in the beam for electrical, but they wouldn't install. Can electrical still be ran?
How often is do u get patio covers that have pieces that dont fit together as it should?
Hey Steven, usually the pieces fit together right, but with so many different parts and variables, yes sometimes we do have to address materials that have defects.
I will usually account for this, when working on a job, it's a variable we must live with,
Thanks for the comment,

How high is the patio cover
Hey Albert, I believe this patio was between 9 and 9'8".

how do u run the electrical through the panels? looks as if theyre solid from the insulation
Hey Duben, great question. We run electrical into electrical channels inside the roof insulated panels. You need to order this ahead of time, the other option is piping is electrical through the roof. But this is pretty unsightly and tends to leak.
Hope you have a great weekend, thanks for all the comments,
AJ
