Nice vid and welcome to the world of putting big bikes in small places. As a KTM 990 rider who loves backwoods single-track and who has spent a decade exploring trails , I can appreciate every moment of your climb out. From the sweating to the nerves, been there. Unfamiliar down hill tracks on big bikes are wrought with potential issues....REGARDLESS OF YOUR RIDING SKILLS. They are usually best avoided or at the very least scouted (conservatively). That little series of steps you walked down while you were scouting might feel very different on the way up. Then there is that short sandy stretch where you measure the rocky sides of the trail to be a meter apart so you are confident that you can get your 80cn crash bars through. Only to find that your 500 lbs of motorcycle sinks into the sand enough to now to make the width only 79cm . If you can get up a trail and IF you can get turned around, you can always get back down. That rule does does not apply the other way. And a special note to guys that ride ADV bikes with guys on light trail bikes in the woods. Never, ever take someone's word when it comes to getting back up a single-track. You will thank me later. Have fun out there and always think through your challenge before throwing a bunch of muscle at it. Thinking is easy.

Hey, I’m now 66, restarted riding after 45 years, dirt, on a drz400s, about 3 yrs ago. I’ve lost 15 lbs, got some muscle tone back, balance, etc. but it took a while. The riding motivated me to start exercising and eating better. Best decision ever. Good luck ! My ‘last sand blast’ video was my last and explains more.

Back in 1986 a buddy and I road our Honda XLs (500 me, 600 him) 3,300 miles (RT) from Northern Calif. to the Canadian border. It was a fishing trip. We usually chose roads that followed large streams/small rivers. We would set our rods up in the morning, fold them in half and bungee them across our handle bars. Then every mile or so find a nice set of pools and fish them. Often we would ride our bikes down a footpath to reach the stream/river, so we could park right on the river and keep an eye on our bikes. These were not meant to be ridden on, and I can say a few times, we weren't sure we were going to get back up. : P

I’d prefer a light dual-sport or enduro with some Michelin Trackers fitted over an Adventure bike for that stuff. lol , Happens to us all at some point ,,,worst time for me was on a 83 TT600 in the Viaur Valley,(France)following a track which descend to the river at least a 1:3 gradiant , the descent was about 1/3 kilometer . Got to the bottom to find the river track had disapeared /washed out . Experienced many big climbs whilst motocrossing but this had hardly any run up to gain speed , Luckily the TTwas running on Motocross tyres which saved my ass. reduced tyre pressure and almost sitting on the handle bars for the climb back up .... very close call as most of the valley was rock bluffs, screed slopes and pine trees for miles around. For what it's worth correct gear, good throttle control and riding position and keeping your cool can get you out . love your vids ,

I also noticed that line choice could have been better in many situations. Maybe it was the video angle making it look easier, but there were many times he chose to go through the loose/ rocky line rather than the grassy line, the latter of which would result in less rear slop and more consistent momentum.

I don't have a T7 but similar bike (bmw dakar) and it is a heavy girl not gonna lie (crashbars, center stand, various modifications for adventure riding in every possible situation + carry a lot of spare parts, tools, new tube etc.). And I have a back problem so that doesn't help much. But I would never take her on these kind of trails alone (did few times and it was hell!) even unloaded. These bikes are NOT the "magical unicorn" that they are sold as.....Period.......off-roading is EXTREMELY difficult on 2 wheels....that's why you see So many for sale with Low mileage, people quickly realize they're In over their heads and been sold smoke and mirrors. This trail would be easy for a Dual Sport or Dirt Bike.....but anything over 300lbs, I would Quickly lose confidence, unless I was a Very experience rider.......Skill is Everything......Weight matters, Clearance and Suspension matters. This bike is built for dirt Trails, everything else is smoke and mirrors, The End.

Because it's fun 😂 . Nothing like getting a bike like this to the top of places people would struggle getting an enduro bike up. Saying that, I will get an enduro bike or at the very least something like a 701 soonish I hope. But when someone doesn't have the luxury of being able to have multiple bikes simultaneously but still wants to ride off road while maintaining the ability to commute to work. Something like the T7 is perfect
