Off Road Training with The Yamaha Tenere 700

- So with my only off-road attempt on the Hyper being rubbish and dropping it, I decided I needed to do some proper off road training and learn on someone else's bike so I don't wreck my one when the time comes.
The Yamaha Tenere 700 Experience in Wales was epic. Grabbed a few mates and we did the whole day breaking into two groups to tackle easy/hard routes - yeah I did the hard ones and dropped the bike a few times.. these 700's are proper top end heavy (200kg same weight as a Hyper).
I kept stalling it.. I was using the brakes all wrong.. I didn't use the engine braking on descents.. I had to keep remembering to lean opposite way.. staying seated gives more grip in tricky conditions.
Anyway.. hope you at least enjoyed the first minute long intro!

I was going to let you have a go on my multistrada V4 intill I saw this video 😂 looks great fun and il definitely give it a go, they say off road experience makes a better track rider and I totally get it. Still bloody hard though, well done 👍
Lol… we defo should sort out a meet up and test/try each others bikes 😎
I so want to try that 💯💯
We should do a lads away day 🤛🏼🤛🏼
What a great experience! A big meal must have been well deserved after that.
Few beers and a large mixed grill - it was hard work
that looked like bloody hard work that , great core work out lol
Was both fun and tiring..
Great video dude! I find these bikes tall and heavy even though I’m 6’4 and 15st. Bet that was tiring!
Im a midget and I was so sore the next day.. once you’re moving you dont notice the height/weight.. but at slow speed I was rubbish on it and just couldn’t trust it like the other more experienced riders could 🤷🏾♂️
I'm hoping to do this next year. 🙏🏼. Did a bit of motocross this year and the old bones held out. So finger crossedI'll be good for this lol. 👍🏼
You should be good.. hardest part for me was lifting the bike 3 times off the deck..
@@hypermotardking you did good buddy. 👍🏾
Looks great fun, bit alas I'm going to have to.leave it you younger chaps , after still recovering from a bike crash at the beginning of August, plus I'm nearly 60 , 59 in March......parcels of choccy bars greatfuly received.......hehehe, 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
The big 60 👏👏
I wish they had a clinic like that here in Alaska, I would sign up in a hot second!
I’d imagine Alaska has plenty of off-road routes/roads - if you can find them and not get lost..
@@hypermotardking GPS is my friend. I have Garmin 700i, so has an oh shit button if something goes wrong. And I pay $125 a year for full medivac insurance for if I ever need to hit that “oh shit” button. Tons of trails out to the middle of no where (old mines mostly).
@@sorenmelchior Thats a handy “oh-shit” button 😂😂
To tall for me ( short ass ) would still like to give it a go lol, great video. 😊😊😊👍🏻
Yep I’m a short arse too.. but seated on the bike my feet are comfortably on the floor - unlike the Hyper 😭
looks fun 😁
One the day yes.. after was proper sore 😭
Was this your first time off-road?
Yes.. hence wanted to try it on someone else’s bike
You need to be doing this stuff regularly to be proficient
Agreed.. i need to find some farmers paths round by me and piss about 👍🏻👍🏻
