I like that board with the history of this hostel. Several months ago I had a lucid dream where I traveled back in time to the original building that the hostel is in. I found myself in the 1930s, was dressed accordingly and was a writer. It was a grand hotel in my dream so I had to get my hands on currency for that time period and got checked in for a room. I was curious about everything and made my way to Central Park. Sadly I woke up from the dream before I fully explored the city. I am a writer myself and have always wanted to travel to New York City so I could find some inspiration. I also wanted to go to a hostel during my visit to the city. I didn't know that the hotel in my dream would later become a hostel until today when I saw it in your video and a few others. I can't wait to ride Amtrak trains to NYC from Texas where I live. Flying is a last resort form of transportation for me.
I have bad knees so going up and down those stairs wouldn't be happening for me. From what you experienced do you feel that is a high crime neighborhood ? Is that hostel fairly close to the ferry docks that could be used to access Governor's Island for the poetry festival in September 2023 What is the nightly rate for this hostel ?
Right night night rate 66.49 -71.30 and I think whatever works best for you but I have another hostel tour video about Moore hostel and Brooklyn It does have disability accessible, none of the hostel are close to government Island. You have have to take subway to ferry or taxis to ferry and they is super expensive due to price gouging. Manhattan where the hostel is location is loud and you might not be able to listen because you are in Manhattan it’s loud 24/7

Do all rooms have lockers for luggage? Also, when you arrive first day, where do you access the hostel if you don't have a card yet?
Where I started of the video and I did point that out and of course they have lockers
Yea but not enough space for all your luggage

That was a very interesting old building. The hostel staff seemed rather aloof and unfriendly.
Well there are few friendly ones but it seems everyone isn’t happy
Do they still plan outings that we can sign up for? I am a solo traveler and want to meet new people
That you will have to ask them by calling the Hostel Location. the hostel is open to only people have been Vaxx and have been clear of CV
