All I can think of is Jason kissed Elizabeth for a second time and he is fooled by her that he trusts her with Sam's DNA test especially how close he got to her after he treated his pregnant wife like she meant less to him than the dirt on his shoes going back to how he reacted and treated her when Robyn "died," then there is how he treated her for carrying what was believed to be a child of rape and the double standard he holds regarding her friendship with McBain yet confiding in Elizabeth the same things he tells Sam should only be between a husband and wife. Sam made some errors but Jason failed her as a husband.
