Great reaction. However, how did you not remember "Where's The Party" lol. When you did the True Blue album reaction, you said it was one of your favorite songs and hoped she did it on this tour. Also, have you thought about starting a Patreon so we can see unedited videos?
Much respect to Madonna after months on tour to still serve that energy. Much respect to anyone who does it completely live like she does here, nothing pre recorded here, she is all live while dancing at the same time. Self written songs, she is the whole package. She keeps you entertained the whole time just by her sheer presence.
My only criticism is that she is always vocally tired by the end of tours, and they always choose to record the last shows. If you compare performances from this tour or even the Blond Ambition tour, you can clearly notice how the vocals are much better in shows closer to the beginning of the tours.
I only subscribed to yr channel because of your madonna reaction. As a black guy from the Caribbean. I have followed madonna's career from the beginning. There's no one that could come close to how legendary she is. She's broken every barrier possible. With a catalog of the most fascinating music and concerts ever in history. Do enjoy yr journey. I will be watching.
Loved your reaction to this show! Man, if you're into the theatrics of this tour, you are in for a treat with each and everyone of her tours from here on out.
Love your reaction! Madonna is so amazing! I can´t wait to see your reaction to Blond Ambition Tour where she is much provocative, daring and amazing, the performances are incredible! ❤
The Queen of Pop: - After the tour was announced, the first two shows at Wembley Stadium in London sold-out at a then record-breaking time of 18 hours and 9 minutes for 144,000 tickets. -In Japan, a thousand troops had to restrain a crowd of 25,000 fans seeking to greet Madonna at the airport. -Madonna's concert in Paris in front of 130,000 fans was a record attendance in France for nearly 3 decades. -Her first-ever Italian concert in Turin, was presented by the Italian state broadcaster RaiUno and broadcast around the world. Just in Italy, the show was watched by around 14 million households. The show at Turin was watched by 65,000 fans and was a record there.
Btw isnt it amazing how this was like 4 years into her recording career and she was like 27/28 and she pretty much did a 2 hour concert which was already a Greatest Hits show pretty much? 2 hours of hits. She could have retired then and would already be forever an 80s icon and that was years before Like A Prayer, Vogue, Express Yourself etc
The song spliced into Like A Virgin is I Can't Help Myself (Sugarpie Honeybunch), a famous Motown song by the 4 Tops who were from her home town of Detroit. She grew up listening to Motown.
Love your journey, gives me chills to see someone react to Madonna for the first time, chills like i had when i first discovered her. This is only the beginning, i can't wait to see your reactions on what is in front of you, the legend that is called Madonna.. Welcome to the club!
The first tour with Niki & Donna (her iconic backup singers/dancers. Niki toured with Madonna through 2001, and Donna toured with Madonna through 2007)
3 albums before her next tour. 1) You Can Dance remix album 1987 (which closes this 86-87 era). Then her 89-91 era: 2) Like a Prayer 1989 (6 singles with 5 videos, and the 1989 VMA Express Yourself performance), 3) I'm Breathless 1990 (2 singles with one video, plus the 1991 Oscars performance of sooner or Later, and 1990 VMA performance of Vogue). Then The Blonde Ambition Tour. Then her Truth or Dare documentary of the concert (popularised reality content). Then The Immaculate Collection album with new versions of all her songs, but particularly Like a Prayer and Express Yourself, and 2 NEW hit songs (including one video) which closes this era and bridges to the next.
My first Madonna concert in person I attended when I was just 8. Watched it in Leeds, UK in 1987. Ain't missed one since. Oh, and you ain't seen anything yet! This is her just starting to give birth to the concept of theatrically in concerts. It's with her next tour she gave birth to the template of every modern pop concert to this day.
I subscribed because of the Madonna reactions. but also love watching your other videos too. the next tour after this one is the GAME CHANGER for sure. The Blonde Ambition tour is the tour that changed the way touring was done and to this day her tours are a must see. spectacular.
Madonna is at her best on stage. Unbelievable energy 🔥 i could not believe what i saw back in the day. Amazed as you are 🤩 You need to watch this concert again. I could see (with your enthousiasm) you have missed lots of little things.
I enjoyed this trip back in time with you! Who’s That Girl was my first concert when I was 16 years old. Anaheim Stadium, July 18, 1987. Truly the greatest night. The crowd was 67,000 people. There was a line for general admission and it started mid-morning and was already grown around the stadium. It was an all-day Madonna-fest in the parking lot with thousands of Madonna crazed strangers. We went crazy when she did a sound check. Everybody stopped what they were doing and stood in awe staring at the stadium where her voice was coming out from. The whole audience singing Who’s That Girl was so loud! The taxi cab cost more than the ticket! I’m a new subscriber. I love the younger crowd that get Madonna. She is timeless. I’ve seen her 9 times in concert.
I was also there that day... I was 16 as well...The group Level 42 being the opening act.. I've seen all her tours the last one being Celebration Tour at the Forum...
Yes dude, 1987 Madonna literally was " Causing A Conmotion", 2 Number 1 Billboard Hot 100 Hits, 1 !!! another No. 2 and another No. 4. Madonna hits Movies with "Who's That Girl movie" Madonna reached Top 10 álbum with "Who's That Girl Soundtrack" and later with "You Can Dance" album remixes. But defintly "Who's That Girl Tour" was the thing! She appeared in so many News, she stopped Stadiums Socker Games!.. Her Video at the time for "CAUSING A CONMOTION" aired on MTV was from this Tour, it was aired simultaneously on the MTV Videos Awards at the moment She made the performance in Europe., it was used as "Official Video". "The VHS 📼 Video" hit shops a year later, and it was a hugh hugh hugh hit. That's for this nice "Shabadoo" (R.I.P.) American Dancer and actor, is the dancer with hat. He was part of the "Soul Train" Show in the 70s, and hits Movies like "Breacking" in 1984, he appeared in so many videos, like, "Who's That Girl" by Madonna, "I feel for you" by Chaka Khan, " Baila Cobmigo" by Miami Sound Machine, "Mickey" by Toni Basil, and so many others.
OMG, I watched the live broadcast in summer of 1987. It was broadcast into numerous countries and the italian audience of 60.000 people was wild. She did the comb joke during the European leg of the tour and I guess in the 80ies more people carried combs with them. They were needed for the big hair! ;-D
This version of Into the Groove is from her 1987 remix album You Can Dance, the biggest selling remix album ever until MJ eclipsed it 10 years later. It also has a new single on it, Spotlight. I'd love a reaction to the album! It's continuous but there are stand-alone song versions as well.
Be sure to check out the Raiuno Broadcast version of her show in Torino 🇮🇹. The released version is basically 2 shows in Italy(Torino and Firenze/Last Show) plus clips from her Tokyo show.
Great reaction. This madonna period you are swinging into is dense. Firstly there are 2 albums you have to listen to before "Blond Ambition Tour". Like a prayer but also "im Breathless" which is an album she made as the character she played in the movie Dick tracy but some very famous songs are on it. Its not skippable in the journey. It also leads to here oscars performance where micheal jackson was her date and the song won the oscar. Actually let me just list it all here in order for you Like a prayer (album and videos) [pepsi controversy if you like a deep dive] "Express yourself" at the VMA's IM BREATHLESS (album and videos) Blonde ambition Tour Truth or dare (documentery) also completely unmissable. It was a first of its kind behind the scene of the tour that became the biggest doc of all time. No star had ever given such access it was reality tv before reality tv. People thought she was crazy for doing it and now everyone does it and even follows the same formula Vogue at the VMAs Sooner or Later at the Oscars I know its alot but none of it is missable. Its a very big time coming in the journey
@zanyzander for sure I forgot the immaculate collection. And obviously the Justify my love video is somewhere in there as well. He's gonna freak out when he sees that one. I don't think he's ready for the erotica era either 😂
The black guitarist is the one and only David Williams who worked with Michael for years and the male dancer who was dancing with her on “True Blue” was Shabba Doo AKA Ozone from “Breakin’”.
I can explain why "everybody" had a comb 😅 Actually this live is a mix of two concerts : the one in Torino ( september 4th 1987 ) and Firenze ( september 6th 1987 ) that was the last of the tour ( I was there 😊 ) . The Torino date was broadcasted by RAI tv live in worldvision, so we knew that at the end of the show she would asked a comb... she was so surprised !! 😅.
One thing you'll learn about Madonna is she never performs a song the same way twice, Jonathan Moffett was on the Virgin tour, who's that girl tour and blond Ambition. Madonna is a classically trained professional dancer having danced for Martha Graham and Pearl Lang and was the first white dancer with Alvin Aliey. The faces on Papa don't preach were Ronald Regan, Pope St John Paul II and Jerry Falwell all the people who criticized her. When you watch Blond Ambition watch the Barcelona or Nice show not the Japan show. I can't help myself from the temptations shares its bassline with LAV and Billie Jean
Madonna is the athlete of pop. Always the boss. In total control. All tour 100% live singing. Paris concert had 134k audience including Rambo. Still remains one of the biggest audience for a paid female concert tour and the biggest audience for a paid concert in France
If you think this tour was great wait to see the blond ambition tour 1990 , a show that change for completely the tours, a concept of shows never seen before

The opening scene is Madonna poking fun at Cyndi Lauper. It's fun watching these kids look at Madonna's legacy. If only they were alive to witness it. Sorry you werent ;)
Blond Ambition is not her best it The sticky and sweet tour it's also her most successful it's for a reason it's her best tour full of energy non stop dancing 💃 if u love this you Will love this one
Great reaction. However, how did you not remember "Where's The Party" lol. When you did the True Blue album reaction, you said it was one of your favorite songs and hoped she did it on this tour.

Thank you! But you see it's moments like that we call... " brain slipperage" lol but you read my mind!! I am considering it absolutely!
Much respect to Madonna after months on tour to still serve that energy. There's now people who do Long Tours but they barely do Anything in those shows
Unlike her who Drains herself till the end.
My only criticism is that she is always vocally tired by the end of tours, and they always choose to record the last shows. If you compare performances from this tour or even the Blond Ambition tour, you can clearly notice how the vocals are much better in shows closer to the beginning of the tours.
@@MrEderB I agree!

Same bro ! From Jamaica and she is huge
Trinidad and Tobago here...
Madonna played in from of 131,000 in Paris for the who’s the girl tour
Still one of the best concerts ever !!! To this day!! Ever!!! This was off the chart!! Mega Superstar Madonna!!!!!
And it gets better with each tour. The next one, Blond Ambition, sets a new standard for performance. Glad you enjoyed it!
Her tours get better and better. Her albums get better and better.
Loved your reaction to this show! Man, if you're into the theatrics of this tour, you are in for a treat with each and everyone of her tours from here on out.
She was unstoppable, her energy was insane and unparalleled ❤
Great show but you talking and singing to much. And you're sound quality is very bad.........😢

Which is crazy considering the only way to buy tickets then was by either calling on the phone or standing in line to buy them.

The first tour with Niki & Donna (her iconic backup singers/dancers. Niki toured with Madonna through 2001, and Donna toured with Madonna through 2007)
That magical "madonna sound" went away after 2001 when nikki quit her
@@First-p1n her best tour was 2006 Confessions though, she sounded the best then too.

Who's That Girl is my most favorite Madonna concert. She was so young, and her vocal was so raw back then. No backing track or autotune.
Now this is a reaction!!!!!!
I love this tour so much
