I have seen and gone to every single Madonna concerts
She paved the way on how concerts should be. After this concert, she elevated the art of how to make a show. Even Michael Jackson took notes . So much to admire from this powerful strong woman. Not only did she prove her power but also slays to this day !!! I don’t think she gets the credit she deserves but I feel we are lucky to know and experience such a Queen to this day . Thanks for reacting to Madonna
Her legacy must live on !!! 👑💜🪩🪩🪩

You missed Freddy DeMann in the credits, Madonna's manager. He was also MJ's manager during the Off The Wall and Thriller eras.
Madonna wanted Freddy as her manager, figuring if he was good enough for Michael, he'd be good enough for her.
They worked together until the mid 90s.

So happy you seem to have read my comments about the VMAs. This tour is still 3 before she changes how pop tours are done. Just so you know she IS a dancer first and foremost. She danced with Martha Graham and for Alvin Aliey. She's a dancer that became a singer. This is all just the beginning I'm so excited for you to see how it just keeps getting better

What a great reaction! No one can understand Madonna's art until they get to her concerts. It's like only now you know what you're getting into. And to think this is just the very start. Iconic as it is, this tour is just a warm-up of what's to come.
And I love that you realized the symbolism of the wedding dress in regards to the virginity theme, but there's even more to it all. Her name Madonna in Latin and Italian literally means "our lady", and is the name used to refer to the VIRGIN Mary - yeah, she's named after the mother of God. So it's "Madonna - Like a Virgin" as in 'Madonna, like THE Virgin'.
Plus, there's the fact that the wedding dress is white and veiled like that to represent purity - while her hair and makeup are sexy NY street style, displaying the opposite of purity. So it's a juxtaposition of symbols - like the whore and the saint in the same figure, a kind of deconstruction that had relegious groups and all the conservatives shook.

Gambler is amazing. Very rockstar Madonna. It was a single in Europe and was on the soundtrack of a movie she had little cameo in as a nightclub singer. It was a top ten hit in the UK and Europe but it wasnt a single in the US and was not on the Virgin album.

Fun Fact: Crazy For You kicked We Are The World off the #1 spot in 1985. They didn't ask Madonna to sing on We Are The World because they thought she was a flash in the pan and didn't have too much vocal talent to offer and was said to be hurt lol Karma ;)

Hi. 🙂 loving your reaction, especially to that Billie Jean mash-up! That is her actual grandma that Madonna does a shout out to, near the beginning: "Get up and dance, you too grandma". And her real dad who drags her off-stage.
I think ages back when I suggested doing "eras" I mentioned Crazy for you, Into the Groove, and Gambler were part of this era and needed to be heard prior to the tour. They were all soundtrack songs during the like a virgin era, getting to number 1, except Gambler which was 4 in UK. But not to worry.
Before you start the next era I strongly suggest watching Desperately Seeking Susan film next (even if you don't react to it but great if you can). Into the Groove is from this film and Madonna steals the entire film as Susan.
But next up should definitely be the 1985 Live Aid concert (3 songs: Holiday, Into the Groove, and premiering new track Love Makes the World Go Round which she wrote for Live Aid.) This is still very much part of the Virgin era, being only 1 month after the end of the tour) and concludes the 83-85 era and look. (It's still 9 months till next music video (Live to Tell), and a whole year until the release of True Blue album.)
    The next era is 86-87.
    Consists of:
    1986...
    True Blue album.
5 music videos: Live to Tell (album version is longer than video), Papa Don't Preach, True Blue, Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita.
    1987...
Who's That Girl soundtrack with 4 songs: Who's That Girl (and music video), Causing a Commotion, The Look of love, Can't Stop.
Who's That Girl film (a fun 80s comedy). You could watch by yourself or react to it.
    The Who's That Girl Tour.
She finished up this era with a non-stop remix album You can Dance (with new song Spotlight and video). You could do this before the tour if you prefer. It has great updated mixes and all runs together like a night at the club, (but there are also stand-alone song versions). A precursor to her non-stop 2005 Confessions album.
