Your doing a Madonna journey? Oh I am so here for this. Fan since 87 seen her live on every tour since Who's That Girl in 87 up to her current Celebration Tour. Incredible artist and you in for a hell of a ride, especially with her live shows.
Gambler is amazing. Very rockstar Madonna. It was a single in Europe and was on the soundtrack of a movie she had little cameo in as a nightclub singer. It was a top ten hit in the UK and Europe but it wasnt a single in the US and was not on the Virgin album.
So happy you seem to have read my comments about the VMAs. This tour is still 3 before she changes how pop tours are done. Just so you know she IS a dancer first and foremost. She danced with Martha Graham and for Alvin Aliey. She's a dancer that became a singer. This is all just the beginning I'm so excited for you to see how it just keeps getting better
YES! Love it. One of my favorite tours. Love the raw energy, the songs chosen. What a fun show full of energy. She sounded and looked great! Kepp the Madonna journey going!
Yes, she was in Detroit for this show where she’s from so she was emotional and I thought it was so cute. She bought her real father on stage at the end. ❤
What a great reaction! No one can understand Madonna's art until they get to her concerts. It's like only now you know what you're getting into. And to think this is just the very start. Iconic as it is, this tour is just a warm-up of what's to come. And I love that you realized the symbolism of the wedding dress in regards to the virginity theme, but there's even more to it all. Her name Madonna in Latin and Italian literally means "our lady", and is the name used to refer to the VIRGIN Mary - yeah, she's named after the mother of God. So it's "Madonna - Like a Virgin" as in 'Madonna, like THE Virgin'. Plus, there's the fact that the wedding dress is white and veiled like that to represent purity - while her hair and makeup are sexy NY street style, displaying the opposite of purity. So it's a juxtaposition of symbols - like the whore and the saint in the same figure, a kind of deconstruction that had relegious groups and all the conservatives shook.
You missed Freddy DeMann in the credits, Madonna's manager. He was also MJ's manager during the Off The Wall and Thriller eras. Madonna wanted Freddy as her manager, figuring if he was good enough for Michael, he'd be good enough for her. They worked together until the mid 90s.
Love how raw and live this is. No pre recordings, her 100% live, all singing and dancing, entertaining them pretty much all by herself. Stage presence, vocals, dance moves, star quality 100%
Fun Fact: Crazy For You kicked We Are The World off the #1 spot in 1985. They didn't ask Madonna to sing on We Are The World because they thought she was a flash in the pan and didn't have too much vocal talent to offer and was said to be hurt lol Karma ;)
This is only the beginning of the ride of your life with MADONNA! Wait and see! ❤ Things has not even started yet!! Hold on to your seats! ❤ Be ready to be thrilled, inspired and amazed! By the ICON the incredible MADONNA ❤
I have seen and gone to every single Madonna concerts She paved the way on how concerts should be. After this concert, she elevated the art of how to make a show. Even Michael Jackson took notes . So much to admire from this powerful strong woman. Not only did she prove her power but also slays to this day !!! I don’t think she gets the credit she deserves but I feel we are lucky to know and experience such a Queen to this day . Thanks for reacting to Madonna Her legacy must live on !!! 👑💜🪩🪩🪩
"Gambler" and "Grazy for You" were part of the soundtrack for movie "Vision Quest". Madonna had a minor role in it as nightclub singer. "Gambler" was only released internationally as far as I know.
If you liked this tour, you will be blown away her Blonde Ambition Tour - which changed the way all tours were done from then on out. She set the standard.
You need to watch the videos for "into the groove" (concidered the best dance song of the 80s and "crazy for you". Both are songs from Movies one of whichbshe starred in and the are two of her biggest and most legendary songs. "Crazy for you" was so big it pushed We are the world of the top of the charts
Every single song was a hit single (although some in Europe or Australia), including 3 more deleted tracks. 13 hits is an astonishing body of work for only 2 years.
Love the teal-colored cap. I can't wait to see if the Like A Virgin performance from Blond Ambition Tour (1990) will replace the Virgin Tour performance as your favorite
Gambler was a single from the Vision Quest soundtrack, same as Crazy For You…. Don’t think it was released as a single in the states but was top 5 here in the UK
Jonathan Moffett did three tours with Madonna, This one plus Who's that girl world tour 1987 and The Blond ambition Tour 1990, They also cut three songs from this tour for the video release. Angel, Borderline and Burning up.
The released version of this tour had songs edited out Angel, Borderline, and Burning Up. However, I don't think there's any visual videos of them songs, but you can search for them and hear the audio live.
You really MUST watch the Blonde Ambition tour. that will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please do a reaction to it, I've started watching your reaction videos and love them
You have to listen to the Soundboard Audio recordings of The Virgin Tour to get a full experience since the Released version omitted Angel, Borderline, and Burning Up along with the 3 band solos due to Warner Bros. making the release PG-13 for her teenage fans at the time.
Before you start the next era I strongly suggest watching Desperately Seeking Susan film next (even if you don't react to it but great if you can). Into the Groove is from this film and Madonna steals the entire film as Susan. But next up should definitely be the 1985 Live Aid concert (3 songs: Holiday, Into the Groove, and premiering new track Love Makes the World Go Round which she wrote for Live Aid.) This is still very much part of the Virgin era, being only 1 month after the end of the tour) and concludes the 83-85 era and look. (It's still 9 months till next music video (Live to Tell), and a whole year until the release of True Blue album.) The next era is 86-87. Consists of: 1986... True Blue album. 5 music videos: Live to Tell (album version is longer than video), Papa Don't Preach, True Blue, Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita. 1987... Who's That Girl soundtrack with 4 songs: Who's That Girl (and music video), Causing a Commotion, The Look of love, Can't Stop. Who's That Girl film (a fun 80s comedy). You could watch by yourself or react to it. The Who's That Girl Tour. She finished up this era with a non-stop remix album You can Dance (with new song Spotlight and video). You could do this before the tour if you prefer. It has great updated mixes and all runs together like a night at the club, (but there are also stand-alone song versions). A precursor to her non-stop 2005 Confessions album.
Hi. 🙂 loving your reaction, especially to that Billie Jean mash-up! That is her actual grandma that Madonna does a shout out to, near the beginning: "Get up and dance, you too grandma". And her real dad who drags her off-stage. I think ages back when I suggested doing "eras" I mentioned Crazy for you, Into the Groove, and Gambler were part of this era and needed to be heard prior to the tour. They were all soundtrack songs during the like a virgin era, getting to number 1, except Gambler which was 4 in UK. But not to worry. Before you start the next era I strongly suggest watching Desperately Seeking Susan film next (even if you don't react to it but great if you can). Into the Groove is from this film and Madonna steals the entire film as Susan. But next up should definitely be the 1985 Live Aid concert (3 songs: Holiday, Into the Groove, and premiering new track Love Makes the World Go Round which she wrote for Live Aid.) U surprised Madonna can dance where she’s the trained dance and was in MARTHA Graham legendary ballet school you can’t get more iconic than this bro do research because it’s impressive

Chilean people Have Loved Madonna since 1985 until now 😬🇨🇱 she is for us like Elvis or Michael Jackson, a true legend
i went to the Girlie Show and it was an experience i would never ever forget...
Gambler is amazing. Very rockstar Madonna. It was a single in Europe and was on the soundtrack of a movie she had little cameo in as a nightclub singer. It was a top ten hit in the UK and Europe but it wasnt a single in the US and was not on the Virgin album.

I'm enjoying every moment of this! Your live reaction is so awesome!!!💚💚💚
Yes, she was in Detroit for this show where she’s from so she was emotional and I thought it was so cute. She bought her real father on stage at the end. ❤
Loved this! Madonna and Janet are my two favorite female artists of all time. I love how they both changed their look and vibe for each album/era!
What a great reaction! No one can understand Madonna's art until they get to her concerts. It's like only now you know what you're getting into. And to think this is just the very start. Iconic as it is, this tour is just a warm-up of what's to come.

that's... that's so much... and I LOVE IT!!

Madonna wanted Freddy as her manager, figuring if he was good enough for Michael, he'd be good enough for her.

Thank you for that! I'm learning alot on this Madonna journey
She even took the drummer from The Jacksons, Jonathan Moffett(1985-1990), along with Pat Leonard(‘85 & ‘87).
Also, Madonna is a trained professional dancer. She trained with some of the greats. You will see all her styles of dance throughout her career.
Love how raw and live this is. No pre recordings, her 100% live, all singing and dancing, entertaining them pretty much all by herself. Stage presence, vocals, dance moves, star quality 100%
Background vocals were pre recordings
Crazy For You was a #1 smash and a staple slow dance song in high school. Iykyk
Fun Fact: Crazy For You kicked We Are The World off the #1 spot in 1985. They didn't ask Madonna to sing on We Are The World because they thought she was a flash in the pan and didn't have too much vocal talent to offer and was said to be hurt lol Karma ;)
I think she wrote Love Makes The World Go Round as a f you to them for snubbing her
Back in the days of the girl groups, there were three singers/dancers, just as in the days of Ike and Tina

Oh bro I feel you
If you liked this tour, you will be blown away her Blonde Ambition Tour - which changed the way all tours were done from then on out. She set the standard.
As a person who was a kid in the '80s and literally grew up with Madinns ...i love your love for her and MJ. Pop SUPERSTARS.
You need to watch the videos for "into the groove" (concidered the best dance song of the 80s and "crazy for you". Madonna inventing the DAP ha! The Beaatie Boys opened for her. The wannabes didnt care but she helped put them on the map.
Her tours are full of energy
Great reaction to Madonna ❤
she still puts on a hell of a show...I saw her live for my 8th time in April with the Celebration tour
Great reaction. You missed the guy who breached security and ran onto the stage during Like A Virgin!
I really appreciate your reactions 😱
The tour included angel and Borderline but they did not make the VHS version.
If there's other footage, I'll react to it another time!
Also burning up, there is a video with the full show from dallas
Love the teal-colored cap.

You are correct.
Awww I loved watching this. I think you were as excited as I was when I saw this on VHS as a kid in the 80s….lol ‘Dress you up’ still gives me chills.

Hello, originally the concert also included 3 other songs Angel, Bordeline and Burning Up which in the official DVD version were then cut

Hello shortly after the Virgin Tour Madonna participated in Live Aid where I brought 3 songs of which one was unreleased
Awesome reaction ❤
Great reaction!! Fun fact, the drummer was also Michael Jackson's drummer in this tour. 💪🏽
I really hope you'll get a patreon some day so we can watch the uncut reactions.
Janet Jackson said in an interview she jumps on a trampoline and sings so she can get her heart rate up while she's singing and dancing
