Three years ago, Amanda Waller sent Task Force X to retrieve leaked intelligence, resulting in betrayal within the team and two members' deaths.
In the present, diagnosed with a terminal illness, Waller learns of a relic that grants access to heaven, leading her to form a new Task Force X to retrieve it from former Doctor Fate, Steel Maxum. Despite confrontations with enemies seeking the same relic, the team discovers it stolen by Scandal Savage Daughter of Vandal Savage on behalf of her Father. After a series of conflicts and alliances, including an ambush by Zoom's group, the story unfolds with the team's relentless pursuit to recover the relic, facing betrayals and unexpected challenges.
