Last year when the Heat eliminated the Celtics, they did so as an 8th seed, with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, & a bunch of undrafted rookies. It’s wasn’t the same Celtics team as this year, but the Celtics (who were the number 2 seed in ‘23) easily had a better roster, & they still started the series 0-3, & ultimately lost in 7 games. The fact that you are trying to downplay Butler’s absence on the Heat, by pointing out that the Celtics destroyed them in the regular season is laughable, mainly because that was also the case in the season prior (when the Heat WITH a healthy Jimmy Butler eliminated the Celtics in the playoffs). Stop the 🧢 I will say that I agree with you on just 1 thing, & that this is not a ‘Mickey Mouse’ championship. It’s the 2024 ‘Cakewalk’ championship. Be proud Boston. 😂😂😂 *🏆
It's insane to call the run of a historically good, 64 win team a mickey mouse run when they were like 15 games ahead in the east standings and a consistent 5-6 against the west. People use past playoffs to say 'if the other teams' best players weren't always injured the Cs would have choked' because of past failures' is also crazy given Jays were younger than 27 in those runs, had lost their coach right before season started and third option was Marcus Smart. Swapping Smart for Jrue Holiday was the most key move Stevens made and even if they never got KP they would have won the chip. Such a dumb conversation from haters
Mickey Mouse ring refers to the lakers bubble win in Disney. This next generation just echoes everything they hear without even knowing what they’re saying.
The Showtime Lakers of the 80s were going up against playoff teams that didn't even finish above .500 to say this was the weakest run is just hate. They were 41-11 against the East and 23-7 against the West. They were first in offensive rating 2nd in defensive rating and 5th in the NBA in rebounds. If KP had been healthy during the playoffs it would have been even more "boring" There were a lot of people telling the world the Cs were going to walk through the Mavs in the finals...Then they got mad because it happened. I don't get it. Boston is a good team who earned their rings...The world needs to get over it...
@@speakinfaxonly21Another thing is this, Dallas beat the 4th seed, 1st seed and the #3 seed without home court advantage. Boston deserves props for beating Dallas in five and holding them under 100 points in all of the games they won in the Finals.
I find it funny that its not mentioned that throughout the whole playoffs, the celtics didnt lose enough games to lose a series... the WHOLE playoffs loses together aren't enough for the celtics to be eliminated in a series!... ridiculous
As a Celtics fan it’s funny hearing people say that because we look at it like this. It has been a 7 year path for these guys since being assembled. Yes this year was an easier path, but look at everything these guys have been through. This chip was well deserved
Boston winning a title with the Jays reminds of what Isaiah and Detroit and MJ’s Bulls had to endure before they got over the hump. Those teams went through heartbreak and the criticism that they would never get it done. Once the Bulls and Pistons got over the hump, the critics and fans could not say anything.
Mickey Mouse run? Somewhere in Heaven, Red is lighting a victory cigar and Bill, Hondo and the rest of the gang of the Celtics greats are high fiving each other.😊😊
Since injuries are this new excuse to say a team had a mickey mouse run then the 2022 Warriors had a mickey mouse run in the first round they played a Denver team without Jamal Murray and MPJ in the second round against Memphis Ja missed like 4 games or something against Dallas I believe other than Hardaway Dallas didn't have any injuries and against Boston in the finals Robert Williams and Smart were playing on injured knees
It’s hilarious when people try to bring up injuries like what are the Celtics supposed to do? Forfeit? Bench Tatum or brown to make the game fair? At the end of the day all players are professional basketball bench, guys have to step up in those times You could also argue that an injury can sometimes make teams play better (not consistently tho) the opportunity that opens up from some being hurt can create superstars.
As a devout Warriors fan, I KNOW we would've 3-peated with Durant and Klay healthy (and nobody would deny that), but .... the championship Raptors are still the legit winners.
I don't care what people say about the Champs Celtics. What annoys me is the fake fans that get mad when Celtics lose and on top of the world when they win. That ain't how you support your team.
as a Celtics fan I get mad when we lose but I understand games like the Heat and Cavs just hitting shots constantly and you gotta commend them for that. More specifically when I say I get mad it was more of last year, just constantly making the same mistakes like in the first 3 games vs Miami. If we lose one game it’s really not a big deal, but when you constantly keep shooting yourself in the foot it frustrates you. Especially back to back to back. I do hate fans that just get mad for losing a preseason or regular season game, like dude we’re 10 games ahead what are you so pressed about? To be honest I was confident in this team all year long and never called for the Jays to be separated, because JT and JB were 24 and 25 when analysts like Kendrick Perkins were talking about it. I also don’t love fans who fanboy certain players like Marcus Smart and Rob Williams, they were good players and contributed to our championship and played well when they were here but they aren’t anymore, and you can’t be salty just because a new player came here.
People were crying about the nuggets not facing any 50 win teams last year. And if KD's foot was a size smaller bucks wouldn't have won in 21. Bubble in 2020. Hurt kd and klay in 19. Haters will hate. You can only play the teams in front of you. Most teams that make is furthest in the playoffs or make it the playoffs are the healthiest teams. One team cant control injuries on other teams its just a cop out for haters. They all bought into there roles and played them very well and everyone stayed healthy for the most part. I doubt everyone is healthy whey playoffs starts.
MICKEY MOUSE, CAKE WALK, WEAKEST OR EASIEST-WHATEVER . THESE ARE WORDS FROM JEALOUS PEOPLE . BOSTON GOT THE 18th WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP . WATCH AND SEE BANNER 19.☘️🏀
The Celtics carried a lot of baggage with two flameouts the past two postseasons and Coach Joe Mazzulla not having enough credibility. This was a litmus test on Tatum's superstardom as well. Miami had a poor regular season, and both Herro and Butler missed significant time since the 2020 bubble. Much respect for how they play, but you go with the hand your have. The Cavs did not play well against the Magic even with a healthy roster. The Haliburton injury is the only one that could be considered as critical to the outcome, though likely the Pacers would have pushed the series to six games if Haliburton was fully healthy. The narrative is not great for the Celtics. Their "hero's journey" is not compelling. But it doesn't make their run any less valid. I consider the Raptors title in 2019 as the "luckiest" title of recent memory because the Warriors lost two starters in the Finals. Toronto also won the second-round series with the Sixers with a Game 7 buzzer-beater that bounced on the rim several times. No shade on the Raptors, though. Their road was tough.
Of course it was a cakewalk! The Celtics were just simply the better team. Being better doesn’t make the ring won illegitimate…quite the opposite actually.
A cakewalk...cakewalk is a pretty not-PC saying, got to admit it. Someone'a going to get cancelled for calling something easy a cakewalk one of these days and no one will ever say it again. Not making any accusations, but a cakewalk was a traditional dance competition held by slaves on plantations. All things considered, a cakewalk was exponentially more challenging than the Celtics title run, given the adversity faced by it's participants. So no, it wasn't even a cakewalk - not even close.
Yeah, not even a hater, but it was the easiest path to the finals in a long time. This dude said “would the heat have won with jimmy healthy? Absolutely not.” That’s what they said last year when they gave the heat a 3% chance to beat them in the conf. Finals. Celtics got a lucky break this year - no jimmy, no Knicks, Mitchell hurt, no bucks and Giannis, etc. The Celtics won but it doesn’t feel like a real ring. Tatum and brown still crazy overrated.
lol this was 100% a Mickey Mouse run. The 3 teams they played all lost/already lost their star player and they didn’t play none of the top East squads because they were obliterated by injuries.
Weak run. This entire video is weak. Just like the finals were. Very boring, not entertaining, huge mismatch. Celtics walked in over injured stars, Mavs faced all healthy teams. Luka was beaten to shit by the finals. Don't be dumb bro.
The Celtics would have beaten those teams anyways as they were clearly the best team all year. If you don't understand this, you don't understand the NBA. "Don't be dumb, bro."
