Accents are a thing that trascends language; I'm actually surprised that the VA, being Japanese, could pull off the accent so well. Same could be said of Tonio Trussardi in part 4 - the VA really manages to sound like an Italian that learnt Japanese at some point.

Stroheim is unironically the MVP of Part 2, his only mistake being unable to shut the UV lamps off in time to prevent Kars from becoming perfect (which in hindsight would've only bought em like 10 minutes max, as the sun was rising anyhow)

He told Joseph about the Pillar Men in Rome, “sacrificed” himself to kill Santana, beat the shit out of Kars when Kars tried to jump them at the cabin, shot the stone of Aja out of Kars’ hand, DURING WHICH STROHEIM WAS SPLIT IN HALF, which lead to Joseph getting it again, saved Joseph when he was about to get swarmed by vampire zombies, helped take out the army of vampire zombies, saved Joseph again from plane crash and struck ULF Kars neck, sacrificed his mechanical legs to save Joseph AGAIN from the jump from the plane, and I think he also helped Joseph fight Kars when on the volcano when his legs were gone. Took out an army of Russian soldiers at Stalingrad only to get killed by a Russian Stand user, and Stroheim probably didn’t make it easy for the Russian Stand user to kill him, or maybe they even killed each other. THIS IS WHY STROHEIM IS MY FAVORITE JOJO CHARACTER. AND THIS MY REASON AS TO WHY JOSEPH AND THE OTHERS WOULD HAVE LOST WITHOUT HIM. GERMAN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND SCIENCE ARE THE WORLDS FINEST!

He isn't a nazi, he's a German. People really have to stop conflating German in the army or just German in general of that period with nazis. I think this might be due to the fact that Stroheim is canonically part of the Nazi army, but the nazis not once in Jojo's actually do anything evil beyond screwing up research on the pillar men. Sure, it's implied that it was all to achieve world domination, but they, and Stroheim in particular, never really do evil stuff on screen. Thus whilst he's part of a detested group, the viewer isn't given any reason to hold a grudge against him as an individual. Not sure whether that was all thought-out and intentional, but if it was, it was a heck of a clever move by the writer.
1. Italians was part of the axis for the most part of WW2. So the italian guy rly isnt special in that constellation 2. Nazis didnt had a personal grudge against brits. Well they did cuz of WW1 aftermath.... but there is no genetical/racial grudge against them. Nazis considered them as "european brothers" like most europeans in the genetical regard. 3. Black people was never a real issue of the nazis. Sure theyve seen themselves as superior as them... however.... black people never was and still arent that big of a deal in europe... no comparison to US. Nazis didnt specifically go against them.... Rommels Wüstencorps (Rommels Desertcorps) even had black helpers who got normaly paid for their work. Did the see them as "inferior" to themselves? Sure they did. But they didnt hunt or tried to genocide them. So yea.... from a sole historical point of view.... stroheim is doing nothing special there

Araki def did not write it for you to interpret it this way, hell Joseph even said he would never be friends for what he represents but has admirable qualities. To be honest strohiem is the best side/major character that I ever seen, not just by design but also character and concept. I mean we are talking about a brave Nazi commander helping an Englishmen to fight three powerful beings known as the pillar man, a problem that he caused by awakening one pillar man in Mexico and realized how dangerous they are to the point he has to work with someone that his country see as an enemy. After becoming a cyborg his behavior kinda started to change he came from a typical arrogant evil Nazi to a brave soldier willing to help Joseph to fix a problem that he caused from experimenting on a pillar man and starts to show more of his bravery and sacrifices like when we first saw him. Edit: does anyone notice how many times he sacrifice his own body and limbs just to save someone like Joseph it’s interesting when you think about it
I love how unlike other shows/games which show cybernetics as making people less human, Stroheim actually becomes more human after having become a cyborg. Very interesting in my opinion.

Point is it was a very effective weapon against vampires and he should have brought at least one for every member of the original party. Fuck it, he should have probably taught them how to use hamond too. Not master level, at least the basics.

@@lefteron6804 Wrong. The Pillar Men were fated to awaken at Part 2, there's a scene in the manga that makes that explicit. Only Santana's awakening was due to Stroheim, and that wasn't really him so much as just the Nazis in general - something which he paid for, by the way.

They did not wake Kars, Esidisi and Wamuu, they awoke while they were being studied and murdered the Nazi research team. Literally, the greatest and most reliable side protagonist there has ever existed in the entire Jojo arc of this universe. I never thought I would ever end up to look up proudly at a Nazi's questionable actions he may have done during his lifetime, lmao. At least, until comrade Stroheim changed , by assisting our hero, Joseph Joestar in eliminating three *literal Aztec gods.* He's the definition of PURE MENTAL WILL* personificated. An absolute war machine, an ideal WW2 soldier. Not even losing half his lower body managed to defeat him from fulfilling his purpose. He came back incredibly stronger as a cyborg, specially built and engineered to fight against the Pillar Men. He was a noble man, proud of his dedication, loyalty to his purpose and to the German Nation. He wasn't necessarily a good person and may believed in the aryan race but he still fought for the ENTIRE humanity and deep down, we know he'll be remembered for that amongst us fans. A geniusely written character. He was evil but lawful and put aside his differences with the people he should consider his enemies due to the WW2, in order to fight together for a bigger cause, mankind's survival. Utterly brilliant. He even felt devastated when he considered Joseph dead. Talk about character development. He had guts of steel. Both literally and figuratively. A LITERAL UNIT. "So Ilchre Ich..." 50% machine, 50% human, 100% soldier, *100% German.*

The actual best character in the series. Has a great an concise arc, an absolutely mad man, and stands as one of the most unique. He embodies all of Jojo's appeal.

I like how araki doesn't justify strohiem or even the nazi's as being good but instead shows their humanity and how they weren't just the mindless evil cannon fodder that western media has us believe. As bad as they were they still had good and that's the most beautiful thing that there can still be some good even in a government as bad as nazi germany.
Also, Araki choose in Golden Wind to describe the mindset of a Wannabe Crime Lord who wanted to save Neapolis from drugs by becoming the Kingpin of the local Mafia along with a killer, a corrupt former cop, a kid jobber boy from the Camorra (the Neapolitan Mafia) and other unsavory people. And doing so, he managed to show Giorno Giovana as decent and honorable fellow who got abused by his own parents, ignored by the community and saved by a local Kingpin, thus starting to believe that you need power, even as a Crimelord, to protect people like he was, Leone Abbacchio as a cop that went corrupt because no matter what he did, society would always stick to the easy way and he felt cheated and Naranja as another kid left in the gutters to fend by himself. Is mafia wrong? Of course, ask what Al Capone did all day long. Was Giorno a decent fellow? Yes: a guy that if he was raised by literally someone else that a cruel stepfather and a bit*h of a mom he could have been cut of the same cloth of the Joestars themselves. He was raised in the gutters, he became a Gang-star, a Gangster but in a way he idolized crimelords because he had no one else to live by Now check the afterwords of part 2: Joseph actually is saddened because Stroheim died on Stalingrad, but still muses what could have happened if there weren't war and Nazism to corrupt Stroheim and keep him from truly befriending him. He told Joseph about the Pillar Men in Rome, “sacrificed” himself to kill Santana, beat the shit out of Kars when Kars tried to jump them at the cabin, shot the stone of Aja out of Kars’ hand, DURING WHICH STROHEIM WAS SPLIT IN HALF, which lead to Joseph getting it again, saved Joseph when he was about to get swarmed by vampire zombies, helped take out the army of vampire zombies, saved Joseph again from plane crash and struck ULF Kars neck, sacrificed his mechanical legs to save Joseph AGAIN from the jump from the plane, and I think he also helped Joseph fight Kars when on the volcano when his legs were gone. Took out an army of Russian soldiers at Stalingrad only to get killed by a Russian Stand user, and Stroheim probably didn’t make it easy for the Russian Stand user to kill him, or maybe they even killed each other. THIS IS WHY STROHEIM IS MY FAVORITE JOJO CHARACTER. AND THIS MY REASON AS TO WHY JOSEPH AND THE OTHERS WOULD HAVE LOST WITHOUT HIM. GERMAN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND SCIENCE ARE THE WORLDS FINEST!

He isn't a nazi, he's a German. People really have to stop conflating German in the army or just German in general of that period with nazis. Do you believe everyone in the US military is fully onboard with their government or war? It's absurd. The main group of the nazi party was the schutstaffel, they required you be a nazi. The Wehrmacht were just soldiers
I think this might be due to the fact that Stroheim is canonically part of the Nazi army, but the nazis not once in Jojo's actually do anything evil beyond screwing up research on the pillar men. Sure, it's implied that it was all to achieve world domination, but they, and Stroheim in particular, never really do evil stuff on screen. Thus whilst he's part of a detested group, the viewer isn't given any reason to hold a grudge against him as an individual.
Not sure whether that was all thought-out and intentional, but if it was, it was a heck of a clever move by the writer.

To be honest strohiem is the best side/major character that I ever seen, not just by design but also character and concept. I mean we are talking about a brave Nazi commander helping an Englishmen to fight three powerful beings known as the pillar man, a problem that he caused by awakening one pillar man in Mexico and realized how dangerous they are to the point he has to work with someone that his country see as an enemy. After becoming a cyborg his behavior kinda started to change he came from a typical arrogant evil Nazi to a brave soldier willing to help Joseph to fix a problem that he caused from experimenting on a pillar man and starts to show more of his bravery and sacrifices like when we first saw him.
Edit: does anyone notice how many times he sacrifice his own body and limbs just to save someone like Joseph it’s interesting when you think about it

Point is it was a very effective weapon against vampires and he should have brought at least one for every member of the original party. Fuck it, he should have probably taught them how to use hamond too. Not master level, at least the basics.

@@lefteron6804 Wrong. The Pillar Men were fated to awaken at Part 2, there's a scene in the manga that makes that explicit. Only Santana's awakening was due to Stroheim, and that wasn't really him so much as just the Nazis in general - something which he paid for, by the way.

Literally, the greatest and most reliable side protagonist there has ever existed in the entire Jojo arc of this universe. I never thought I would ever end up to look up proudly at a Nazi's questionable actions he may have done during his lifetime, lmao. At least, until comrade Stroheim changed , by assisting our hero, Joseph Joestar in eliminating three *literal Aztec gods.* He's the definition of PURE MENTAL WILL* personificated. An absolute war machine, an ideal WW2 soldier. Not even losing half his lower body managed to defeat him from fulfilling his purpose. He came back incredibly stronger as a cyborg, specially built and engineered to fight against the Pillar Men. He was a noble man, proud of his dedication, loyalty to his purpose and to the German Nation. He wasn't necessarily a good person and may believed in the aryan race but he still fought for the ENTIRE humanity and deep down, we know he'll be remembered for that amongst us fans. A geniusely written character. He was evil but lawful and put aside his differences with the people he should consider his enemies due to the WW2, in order to fight together for a bigger cause, mankind's survival. Utterly brilliant. He even felt devastated when he considered Joseph dead. Talk about character development. He had guts of steel. Both literally and figuratively. A LITERAL UNIT. "So Ilchre Ich..."

I like how araki doesn't justify strohiem or even the nazi's as being good but instead shows their humanity and how they weren't just the mindless evil cannon fodder that western media has us believe.
As bad as they were they still had good and that's the most beautiful thing that there can still be some good even in a government as bad as nazi germany.
Also, Araki choose in Golden Wind to describe the mindset of a Wannabe Crime Lord who wanted to save Neapolis from drugs by becoming the Kingpin of the local Mafia along with a killer, a corrupt former cop, a kid jobber boy from the Camorra (the Neapolitan Mafia) and other unsavory people.
And doing so, he managed to show Giorno Giovana as decent and honorable fellow who got abused by his own parents, ignored by the community and saved by a local Kingpin, thus starting to believe that you need power, even as a Crimelord, to protect people like he was, Leone Abbacchio as a cop that went corrupt because no matter what he did, society would always stick to the easy way and he felt cheated and Naranja as another kid left in the gutters to fend by himself.
Is mafia wrong? Of course, ask what Al Capone did all day long.
Was Giorno a decent fellow? Yes: a guy that if he was raised by literally someone else that a cruel stepfather and a bit*h of a mom he could have been cut of the same cloth of the Joestars themselves.
He was raised in the gutters, he became a Gang-star, a Gangster but in a way he idolized crimelords because he had no one else to live by
Now check the afterwords of part 2: Joseph actually is saddened because Stroheim died on Stalingrad, but still muses what could have happened if there weren't war and Nazism to corrupt Stroheim and keep him from truly befriending him.
