Crazy seeing the train approach, stop short of the platform, then the tail lights go on, she revs up and disappears again. No wonder the halt has so few passengers, as it's up to 20 hours wait for the next daily train to actually drive the extra 50 metres or so into the platform.
On 14th May 2016, after a well advertised campaign I was one of the 108 people who decided to boost Coombe Junction Halts numbers. We all walked from Liskeard to Coombe to catch the 10.15 back to Liskeard. It came as quite a surprise for the guard when we all got on the 75 seater train. Ultimately we had to get our tickets at Liskeard at the end of the journey to get our special Coombe Junction Halt ticket.
At least it’s still there I live in Devizes wilts and worked in Calne at the time Prescott was telling us to leave our cars at home. Neither town has had a railway station since the early 1960s and no buses run until 9 in the morning!
A fascinating glimpse at a true railway backwater, many thanks for sharing, cheerz, Alan
Glad you enjoyed it

It would of been much more interesting if the cement trains to moorswater were still running
train driver was so shocked to see someone there, he reversed right outta there
Everywhere now, a dog barks, on and on and . . .
Yes confounded noise.
Interesting video thanks for posting. Is there a reason for the train not running into the platform?
Thank you, the station is served by a parliamentary service, too early and late in the day this time of year to get good lighting for a video.
@@steamtothewest-trecanrailisn’t it a request stop so it will pull in on request?
@@melanierhianna Not anymore, it has a parliamentary service only
Stopping he cement trains was a sad development. Gone to ruin since then.
And the trains don't even stop there now!😪😪😪😪😪😪
