I'm currently a 31 year die hard Zep fan (started listening to them at age 14 after thumbing through my dads albums. He had 1,2 & PG). I don't know how or why but in the past few months "The Song Remains the Same" has become my favorite LZ song. Thats part of the beauty of LZ is that no matter how long one listens to them there always seems to be one little thing you might have missed. Just one little note or crash of the cymbal that keeps the flame alive. We are all fortunate to have expierenced this band in our lifetimes. Something this special and unique is probably a once in a millennium thing. PS outstanding cover of TSRTS!! It's cool to watch the three instruments simultaneously.

This highlights one reason i favour God above all other, he is the master of hybrid playing, perhaps only Richie comes close in this aspect! But imagine playing this live and your passion is flowing so much that you are dancing all over the stage playing with that weight around your neck, and also managing the cable in those days!

Playing is spot-the-fuck on (seriously, note for goddamn note - and for those of you unaware: this is NOT an easy version of this song), tone is extremely close to Page 1973, good camera angle, good lighting, NO TALKING or stupid wannabe pithy commentary, no repetition… going over one riff or passage seventeen times… and most importantly (for me, anyway) it has solved a couple lick questions I’ve had for awhile, and has even served as a backing track! Jimmy used a 12 strings neck on this song and he used a 6 strings neck tuned EADADE on The Rain Song.
Amazing! Best part is he don't have to worry about band members showing up for practice.
And playing live is a bitch.

Played an acoustic and Rickenbacker 12 string today. I would need to practice a lot.
I played a 12 string Martin acoustic and fingerpicking was quite hard I wonder if it is the same with an electric 12 strings
I played a 12 string once I always thought it was going to be difficult but to me it came easy
the thomann dc-custom 612 is 600 CAD and is a double neck. effectively a gibson double neck for a 10th of the price.
