Please, tell me what the "good stuff" vanilla is? Thanks Bunches
Jami, I like to use a bourbon vanilla. The brand I can find available in many stores is Rodelle. Unfortunately, it is distinguishable by price, but it offers a far better flavor than your standard McCormick. 🙂
Freezing the dough prevents too much spreading, freez at least 2 hours before baking to keep the butter solid
Can someone please tell me what the grams are in cups😂🙏🏼
She said a quarter cup
Hi, does anyone have a working link for the written recipe? The link in the description is not working for me. Please and thank you! 🙏🙏🙏 (I tried typing it while watching the video, but not sure on the measurements on butter and others)
Hello! Can you please repost a link for the recipe? I had it bookmarked to refer back to but the link is no longer working. Next time I’ll take a screenshot because this is the only recipe that keeps my cookies from spreading.
Could you please share the recipe amounts? The link goes no where. Thanks..
I just about tried everything and my cookies always spread. UNTIL NOW!
This recipe was easy and fool proof! THANK YOU LISA!
To everyone commenting about the difficulty of opening the Pillsbury tubes - there is a seam along the entire roll that you can separate and just open the whole tube at once😅
That is a HUGE cookie cutter for making hundreds of cookies 😱😲😳
There isnt alot of honest cooking chanel nowadays
Keep up the work
Love it
try simplyfoodbyty
I just made cookies today for an upcoming birthday using this recipe. Turned out great! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Hooray! I’m so glad it worked for you!
This is such a good demonstration. I'm new to baking and was wondering why this was happening. There are a bunch of no spread cookie videos but not many that compare brands and WHY.
Your videos are well produced, you guys are very likeable and do a great job! Good luck to your youtube career and thank you for dropping this knowledge for us novice bakers!
I just found your channel!! You two are simply the best! I like that you kept your bleeps in...heehee. When you ate that cookie, I laughed so hard I almost choked.
The link for recipe does not work
How many cookies does this recipe make?
Totally love how you demonstrated why it’s best to make your own dough👍🏼 nice vid
Hi! I live in a country where they don't sell Corn Syrup, what can I use instead?
En los centros comerciales venden jarabe de maíz, es la miel para endulzar biberones para bebé.
Where is the recipes at please
Where’s the recipe ?
This video was so informative so important to be on RUclips I really like the comparison you made between the ready cookies and homemade cookies
I truly enjoyed this. Thank for showing all the differences and explaining why. You have a new subscriber
I thought you were supposed to freeze them after cookie cutter for 15 min, it's supposed to hold shape
Can this be done without a mixer? 🙈
Use a hand mixer!
Glad someone else has as much difficulty opening cookie dough tubes
What plastic wrap do,you use? Thank you very much for this recipe and tips.
Had to convert the grams. 0.8cups of sugar? Hope they turn out. I don’t have a 0.8cups measuring device.
I going to tried your recipe, my cookies are always dry, hard or no have flavor. I hope this works.
Absolutely love love love this! Thank you!!! You both are adorable, by the way! ❤️🥰
Nowdo these come out crunchy or do they have a little softeners or chew to them? I'm looking for sugar cookies that don't spread and that aren't crunch like a chips ahoy
If I can’t find corn syrup 😢 can I place it with something else ?
Couldn’t you add Karo syrup to the Betty Crocker mix?
Do you have a video that shows to decorate sugar cookies with royal icing
... just cut the dough tube ends off with a steak knife?
Just came from the website...omg 🤣🤣love the playful humor.
So glad to see this. I just got the idea to try the Betty Crocker mix just to see. I added the flour AND 3 tbl corn starch. Did pretty good. First day sweet chewy cookie. Decorated them. Looked great but day 3 they tasted awful. Still looked fabulous but oh my. Hard as a rock. Even dunked in hot coffee cld not make these cookies edible. I thought I was on to something but no. Enjoyed you both.. Have you tried cornstarch? Texas here.
So glad I found this before I bought the packaged cookie dough. I would have been so sad lol
Oh mannn, just made these and forgot the salt cause i was going by the video instead of the list and you guys didnt say salt 😩 lol
aww I was hoping the store bought dough would work lol I'm just lazy and want something easy hehe
Oooo, third try made poinsettias 💮
These cookies look like they would be super hard… is this correct or are they soft?
These cookies are firm in the sturdy sense and not easily squished between your fingers (though possible). They bend only minimally before breaking without a snap. They are neither crunchy nor cakey. They are not difficult to chew or tough in that sense. They crumble nicely in the mouth and benefit greatly from the sweetness of icing, as they are not very sweet on their own.
This gal reminds me of my mom
Awe. ☺️
Is your cookie soft and chewy or more firm and crisp? And is it a little or a lot sweet? That's the only thing the video needed to be perfect for me. Great job!
The cookie is firm, not crispy, but I wouldn’t call it soft. It is just the tiniest bit sweet to accommodate the sweet icing.
This video was actually extremelly helpfull and well editaded, not counting how entertaining it was to watch it thanks to both of your wholesome personallities!!
Even though I doubt I will make theses cookies I loved fhe video the whole way through!! Please keep up with the amazing work, I would love to see you next video on decorating these cookies ;D
Thank you. 🙂 I’ll pass the compliment on to our son/editor too.
So no baking powder in this recipe? Is that what heps with the spreading?
Yup!
Where is the recipe?
HVe you tried making the cookie dough with a gluten-free flour and non-dairy milk?
I have not tried GF with this recipe. I probably wouldn’t try to substitute the butter because the cookies need it for flavor.
Is there a written recipe?
About how many cookies with this recipe make?
It varies greatly depending on what size your cutters are, but it can make about 2.5 dozen 2 inch cookies. Sometimes I only get 10 large cookies, 15 medium ones, or dozens of mini cookies.
How many cups of flour and sugar?
Thanks for watching! Watch this video to understand why I don’t use cups and grams when I bake. However, if you insist, generally 135 grams per cup of flour and 200 grams per cup of sugar are a good convert. ruclips.net/video/hhLpHY1TbO8/видео.html
Hello tryed your recipe for the sugar recipe but mine came out tasting like biscuits and swelled up .. I’m not a baker🥲😂 but can you tell me what I did wrong thanks !
Oh dear. Any number of things could have gone wrong. Over mixing, rolled too thick, not enough or cheap flavoring… incorrect ingredients, like self rising flour, baking powder…
I’m so sorry they didn’t turn out for you. The cookies are generally less sweet than the kinds you would make without icing, but it makes the vanilla or other flavoring very important. If they swelled up, something tells me that wasn’t the only problem with the dough, though.
I used a handheld mixer so maybe I over mixed … and I just noticed my baking powder is double acting maybe that could be part of it .. 😅☹️😄
@@crystalH30 double acting baking powder is normal. Take a look at this, which explains how baking powder works. There is such a thing as single acting (it only has one type of acid in it), but you won’t find it easily in a regular store.

Well Im now a fanatic in the foodiest way possible...and I want a t-shirt with him on it. I wasn't unquestionably sure but now that I have subbed and this is my 5th straight vid I know now for sure he is my spirit animal. I took me forever to find him . In a 6'3 250lbs deep voiced blk/p. Islander bodyguard with scary eyes and I could not be more absolute in my knowing that this man is my spirit animal
Did you use caster sugar or icing sugar ?
We use granulated sugar in the dough. Caster sugar is similar, but a finer grain so it should work if you measure by weight.
Dough Guides!!! Brilliant Idea!!
please write your recipe in cups vs grams
Thanks for watching! Watch this video to understand why I don’t use cups and grams when I bake. However, if you insist, generally 135 grams per cup of flour and 200 grams per cup of sugar are a good convert. ruclips.net/video/hhLpHY1TbO8/видео.html
Please buy a digital scale you can get one for dirt cheap on Amazon. Makes a world of difference
Lisa, I love your idea to measure & roll the dough using the sticks for thickness.
I have a rolling pin with measured discs on the ends. It's so much easier.
This channel is very cozy and approachable.
I want more!
Tomorrow morning part two will release!
Thank u!!
