Cats don’t interact with humans the same way they interact with other cats. They know we are not cats. I like the statement “ they probably don’t care what we are”
Yes, they dream. My one cat had a nightmare the other week. She was whining in her sleep, and she sounded scared. I gently laid my hand on her back, and she woke up hissing at me. A moment later, she realized it was me and calmed down, purred, and I pet her as she went back to sleep.
I nursed and reared my 4 cats since they were 2 weeks old, due to them having the cat flu. They were born on my back patio via a stray. It took me round a year to tame the mother, who became part of our feline family. The kittens are now 6 years old, big, healthy, and very affectionate.
Here'z the one I'm curious about: what do cats think of clothing? They watch us put clothes on and take them off...what do they think we're doing? Taking off our fur?
I have a kitten who just got spayed and recently finished up her time in her surgical suit (by which I mean: she escaped and was far along enough in the healing process that I didn't attempt to get her back into it). I suspect she has a sense of what clothing is since she (involuntarily) wore some for over a week. As a total guess, I would say that cats probably think of clothing as "that annoying, constricting thing that I don't want to wear - but apparently my human does; whatever."
@jackilynpyzocha662 I think in the English spoken countries " Catisfaction" are called " Temptations" ( Treats, in several tasts, in the Yellow bags are with cheese filled treats, I tried them, really good)👍😊🐈🇫🇷
I took a cat in, a tiny panther, who was very affectionate, but also quite wild at times. When I got on his nerves he would apply the 2-Stage Disciplinary Method of Correction: 1. Securing a hold on my hand with his teeth, then 2. Biting harder, but not breaking the skin/not causing bleeding!!! Although it stung every time, I knew he was only telling me off. He also liked to head butt me, and lie along my body as I lay watching TV. I'll always remember dear Woody ❤❤❤😺😸😺😸
I adore cats..cats are very difficult to understand but if u like cats and open ur heart to them you will fall in love with them..cats are the best ❤️❤️❤️
My cat is dark tortoiseshell. Her hunts drive me a little crazy as she is bringing in gifts 3 times a week! I don’t know if she plays with the others outside to avoid me taking away her catch. She brought me a family of bats!
I agree with most of what is said in the video except the problem solving part. Maybe it applied when my cat was younger, she is 10yo now and still a great hunter. And wow, can she move! Anyway when it comes to jumping up to her food bowls she would much rather have me pick her up and place her there!
Cats see us wear clothes, which is very different from how they dress. That should tell them that we are different from them. They also see us walk upright, which is another obvious difference.
They think and feel similar to us as i believe most animals do in general they just don't have the same level of complexity as us in terms of thoughts and expressing them. For example they know we watch television and are entertained by it but it doesn't come into their scope of entertainment. To them it's a box of fun we watch and how i know they know this is because they can smell the change in the smells from our chemicals in our bodies when we relax etc. They can't talk so they don't tell us this. Plus they don't really as such understand language deeply like we do. They know a lot more about us than the experts say
The fact that, past them being a small kitten, they don’t meow at anyone BUT humans, gives me the impression that they don’t think that we’re the same thing.
They know we're not cats but they don't have the capacity to express themselves towards us any differently to how they communicate with other cats. Experts say they're not very complex in thought but they are. They understand more concepts than we give them credit for. Granted they can't learn to drive or write a book but they understand what we do and they see us as very caring skillful strong caregivers.
Cats have feelings. When a cat purrs that means theyre feeling serene. Cats can be just like humans, careless and arrogantly and generous. Cats are like kids too, it is in how you raise them.
Do cats think that mice are cats? What about cows? Or cars? Of course these are unbelievably silly questions. Every creature’s life depends on quickly assessing the capabilities of another creature in terms of defensive abilities and offensive abilities so obviously they must have so type of classification ability. My cats definitely understand that I have hands and they do not. They also understand that they have physical abilities that I don’t have . In short, they know I’m not a cat🙄
This answers some of the burning questions into the feline brain. Good clip, well researched. We also featured your video for ANSWER YOUR CAT’s QUESTIONS Day on iHEARTdays 💜
I have a question. My cats LOVE me, but they are terrified of, and even annoyed by, almost every other human, including my mother, girlfriends--polite term--and even regular visitors that they should recognize. Why is that?
You don't confuse your computer with a stereo amplifier. Cats process vibes & waves, also sums of them. MY POINT, THEY UNDERSTAND THE Amplitude Modulation of a Signal / SITUATION. Once familiar with you, interdependent with you, AND THEY FEEL SECURE.... CATS ARE BOTH INTUITIVE & COMPASSIONATE.
I think that domesticated cats see us as big cats. They know we feed them and look after them and all of their needs and I'm sure that in an animal's mind, only family would do that for them. We see cats as part of our family and I'm sure that they think they really are part of the family.
I don't think cats even have the concept of what a "cat" is or what a "human" is. That being said I do not think they see us as other cats because we're obviously different in addition to this, they also use vocalizations to talk to us because they understand that we communicate through sound. With other cats however, cats do not meow at them they communicate through other methods. So I don't think cats know exactly what they are or what we are, but they definitely know the differences. Cats are of course intelligent creatures and I do think they are more cognitively aware then what most people realize. I had a cat once who knew she had to open doors in order to get to me for cuddles.
There’s thinking we’re another cat and thinking we’re part of their pride. I think cats can distinguish species. What we see as them treating us like we’re another cat is really just them treating us like a member of their social group. Do cats think dogs that live in the same house are cats?
Our cat definitely knows I'm not a cat, because he sometimes grabs my hand and attempts to play-bite it when he's really enjoying a snuggle session, only to immediately realise what he's doing and stop to see how I react. As for problem solving, I've had two cats that figured out how to open a door using the handle. That's some properly joined-up thinking.
None of my cats view me as a cat. Why do they treat us like cats? A cat acts like a cat. Er, they are a cat. That is why I act human around them. Ok, I do act like a cat as well.
Cat intelligence: The universe revolves around ME. It contains 4 categories of things; 1: Stuff to eat, 2: Stuff to sleep on, 3: Stuff to play with, (1,2 and 3 are interchangeable) 4: Everything else which can be ignored. Feline Filosofy: Cats have heard about ‘consciences’, but after investigation, decided they had no use for anything that stopped you from doing what you wanted to do.
What do cats think of humans? A useful convenience if you can train the stupid things properly but they are very slow learners, be patient. Don’t waste time trying to teach them to hunt, they’re useless.
can they differentiate our gender? I know other primates do . . . not sure about dogs and cats . . . I've seen dogs butt sniffing ppl but I don't think it's to determine the gender . . . can they tell young and old
Cats don’t interact with humans the same way they interact with other cats. They know we are not cats. I like the statement “ they probably don’t care what we are”
True, I don't think they care what we are, they care how we treat them.
My cats treat me like one od their own
Sums up a cat pretty much lol
You are so wrong
been saying this for so long, its so easy to disprove cats think we are just big cats, can't believe we are still talking about this in 2024

My cats (4) see me as a giant treat dispenser.

@@omgnifty5957 A possibility that definitely could be real and therefore should be looked into.
Mosttime my cats see me as her personel Whiskas Can opener, and Catisfaction bag opener. If we snuggle, they forget that im no cat.🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈👍😊🇫🇷
You should send this to Jackson Galaxy! "Catisfaction"

Cats giving head bumps is a love sign.
Quite some cat you had which did not hurt you on purpose even during telling off!
I like how the conclusion of many cat studies is: „We don‘t really know, maybe they just don‘t give a f**k“
I adore cats..cats are very difficult to understand but if u like cats and open ur heart to them you will fall in love with them..cats are the best ❤️❤️❤️
My cat has won the Nobel Prize in catting seven times in one year. That doesn't happen very often. He's the very bestest cat in the world.
Tee Hee
"bestest" ? "Very best" more likely, right?
When I was having a heart attack, both of my cats recognized it and "yelled" at me to get help
They treat us like cats in the same way that we treat them like people.
Interesting idea!

TORTIES!!!!!!!! Does she have tortitude? Vrrreow!
My cat sees me as walking vending machine 😂
“If my cat doesn’t see me as a cat, why do they treat me like one?”. Well why do we talk to our cats if we know they’re cats and not human? 🤷♂️

My cats think I'm just part of the topography. They walk on me and if I'm not steady as a rock, they cling with claws like a tree or dirt.

I think, Cat looks at us with vision,
A pure feeling of touch from us…?😻

Cats think of us a free door dash delivery. We are there to provide food for them!
They see us as a butler.

Basically the answer to all the questions is inconclusive.

If aliens gives me ps5 and food all day ,I don't what they are in gonna do the same
Cats are also attracred to certain voices.

if your the cat's "family" then you simply ARE
I know my cats know I’m not another cat. For starters, none of my cats try to smell my butt.
There's two types of cats though. Cat cats and dog cats. Y'all know what I mean.
A little sketchy on research and study .Hyperbole and conjecture based on poor science is a disservice to understanding
can they differentiate our gender? I know other primates do . . . not sure about dogs and cats . . . I've seen dogs butt sniffing ppl but I don't think it's to determine the gender . . . can they tell young and old
We all, Humans cats, others are all part of the same quantum wave structure.
