- The EPIC magnitude of this Tidal phenomena was only recently discovered in the remote North West of Australia. It has NEVER been commercially filmed. Discovery Channel, BBC, Attenborough, National Geographic do not know it exists and as such have never filmed it. There is NO vision like this anywhere!
2.16 in the clip, shows the jet ski coming over the top of the largest wave of the days tidal change.
Next expedition planned for mid 2020 with professional jet skiers and surfers.
I live here in the US, been diving for 35 years and I've never seen anything like this. That was absolutely spectacular.👍👍👍❤️💚

I’ve sailed through the tidal rapids of British Columbia’s west coast north of Desolation Sound. At full flow they are impressive. Slack current is the navigators choice, of course. These rapids are caused by tidal flow forced through narrow channels between islands. This video is open freaking water!! Mind boggling!

Collins Dictionary - Tidal wave "an unusually large incoming wave, often caused by high winds and spring tides"
This was filmed in the biggest of Spring Tides referred to by the locals as King Tides.
A day, when the region was experiencing in excess of a 12 meter tide over a 6 hour period.

It's the real deal. 12 metre tides. Water outflow 26 Km /hr. Depth from 250 feet to 30 feet. Can only go up!

Interesting. I lived in WA for years and was unaware that there were tidal bores occuring there. I live in the west of England and am close to the Severn Bore, one of the most well known tidal bores in the world today. I'd imagine dealing with salties and sharks would be a hazard up there in the tropics tho. No such problems here in the cold UK. Hope you post more footage of the next visit soon.
The second largest great white was caught in a fishing net here in cold waters of Eastern Canada...Naufrage PEI...and the greatest tidal bore is in the Bay of Fundy Nova Scotia...Wiki "The world's largest tidal range of 16.3 metres (53.5 feet) occurs in Bay of Fundy, Canada, and the United Kingdom regularly experiences tidal ranges up to 15 metres (49 feet) between England and Wales in the Severn Estuary."

hi kevin - is this hells gate on a spring? i went thru on a 7m tide couple months ago solo in a trailer boat, launched a drone and have vowed to go see it at full pump next year and film it properly! it doesnt look like the gate, are you further west from there?

2:15 something large swims with the current between the watercraft and the standing breaker.
It sure does. Thats probably why I cannot get anyone to surf it. Believe I have tried and no one will put their hand up!
Looks like a bit of tiny white wash to me. Replayed it about ten times , it's just a disturbance in surface tension. No shadow, no nothing

@@seairpierre6838 Great footage but gives me the creeps! Wouldn't like to be caught out there in a canoe!. A low angled shot using a drone at 2:15 would show the size of the waves which look menacing for open water.
Very interesting. But the title is misleading. This is not a a tidal wave or tidal bore. This is a water rapid with standing waves where flow velocities are too large.
