Glad you decided to keep going! One of my favorite challenge modes is pacifist. You should consider at some point doing a sort of pacifist nuzlocke where you can only choose 1 mon per area etc, but choose rather than blindly take the first. It starts off HORRIBLY slow in most of the games, but it does pick up steam as you keep going. Ever since doing it, hoppip has been one of my favorite pokemon to find because it carries pacifist runs so hard whereas i used to absolutely despise it.

Always glad to see another part in the series! I have been playing the games since Pokémon Blue when I was 5, but embarrassingly had no idea about STAB until I was in Gen 4. Spamming Fissure on my level 100 Charizard felt good enough to me for some reason 😅

Goddamn, my guy. This episode was a whirlwind of emotions, especially that Cyrus fight. That was Heart Attack City, USA right there. But you’re at the finish line! You can do it!

In X&Y, you can use Flash in caves and the camera goes in a move wide-view mode. I randomly came across this a couple of years ago by mistake.

Yeah I loved the Poketch functions. The only good thing about it in the "remakes" is the HM function. Gen 4 slaps with night music. This whole team was an MVP this episode!

I know it was probably more of a rhetorical question, but I want to speak on it anyway. Per the dragon trainer with unevolved mons at the end of victory road, I think it serves 3 purposes. One is to simply show you the line exists, since gible is rather difficult to find without guides. The second is for dex completion. Sinnoh is really good about this, it counts dex completion by Pokemon seen, and if you fight every single trainer you will see every pokemon once, except maybe unknown. The last reason I think it’s there is to be a bit of a preview of the monster waiting for you at the end of the E4. Even if you didn’t know the line exists, you can probably reason out that it LOOKS very 3-stage, and seeing just two of them leaves you wondering AND dreading it knowing there’s nothing but the E4 and champion left.
